Good Maen everyone! Haven't been here lately. Most of my friends on FB have been keeping me busy. My 30th High School Reunion is this fall. Trying to convince Darrell to let me go. It'll be VERY expensive, but I want to see some of my friends since elementary & junior high.

Sending loving vibes & hugs to those who need them. Sorry, I've missed a TON of reading and don't know if I can EVER catch up.

GOOD NEWS ALERT!! Our friend Mike (Doc) will be home from Afghanistan in early May (a couple of weeks from now) Can't wait to see him. Will try to have him come over for dinner & wine. Will update exact date when I know it. Take care everyone, TTFN

Nice seeing you here, too, Vivacious Viv.
I hope your FIL is at least being kept comfortable in the hospital.
It sounds like you'll be having a fun time on Sunday Morning. Wish I could be there, too. Consider me there in spirit.

The Budgies are well on their way. I'll be picking them up at the PO tonight after the Lion's Club meeting.
Hopefully, the eggs in my incubator will start hatching in 2 days. These are Marans (chocolate eggers) and the White Faced Black Spanish . Next week the Guinea eggs should hatch, as well as a few Grey Peacock Pheasants . Have I ever said that I LOVE baby birds?

Gil spoke with Doc this morning. He said that he's been having a lot less energy for a few months. He's having an Angiogram tomorrow morning, and the surgery is scheduled for the next day (Thursday). Gil is packing right now to head up there. He HAS to be back here on Monday for a major meeting. I hope he can return knowing his father is on the mend.

Since nobody else is here, I might as well monopolize the page.

I haven't been complaining about my health problems lately, simply because of the surfeit of bad news here. My back is quite painful now, about 8.5 on a scale of 1-10, where 10 is blacking out from the pain. Add to it a killer sinus infection, that's causing a nasty headache and a severe toothache. I'm self medicating on oxycodone, and it's barely keeping it bearable. It was so awful last night that I was considering removing the offending teeth and bone area with my 22.

That pain gone pen might help you a little with your pains. It is like acupuncture that it stimulates the bodies natural pain killers (endorphins)

Heidi, it is so hard to function with that level of pain. i do understand wanting to do anything to make it go away. a 22 is not the tool of choice though, just might cause more problems than it fixes.

is the sinus infection being treated? I hope you are better today.

Morning all
Heidi, how long until your next pain shot? We sort of knew this was coming when you dragged the calf out of the... what was it in again?.... when you were supposed to be doing nothing. Or was it herding you did? I hope relief is not too far away. Sending hugs and vibes.

MizT, Great news that the new pain killer is more compatible. I agree that a little pain with a lot of sleep is better than no pain but no sleep. I hope it is not too long away that you have no pain and lots of sleep!!

Hi all,

Still snowing here, but it really isn't staying. Very cool and damp. I had to turn the heat back on in the house just to take the edge off.

Gail, hope you were able to sleep well.

Suzanne, hope you can make room in your budget for the reunion! It should be fun catching up with people. My old high school closed the year after I left and there has never been a reunion.

Some good news is needed here.

We had some fun this weekend. We drove down the coast a little way and had fish and chips followed by playing on the beach. There was much hilarity with an incoming tide and a sand castle, along with singing (not us, the girls) and general happiness.

Ally's ankle is doing well so it looks like she will do her grading on Saturday.

We went to an 18th birthday party last Friday and will be going to another this Saturday. I was in the right place at the right time and bought both girls gold earings for an excellent price. The only sour note was when Ebob reminded us that it is only 8 months until hers!!! Aaaah! How did that happen??

One of Ally's friends went to Ally's singing teacher and recorded one of her songs. She is so happy with it that she has recorded copies to sell. Her grandparents own an art gallery and have 'booked' her to play at an opening coming up soon. This girl has taught herself to play guitar and sing and does really well. Her parents hope to get her guitar lessons soon but are on a waiting list for someone local - they are even further out of town than we are!

It looks like the girls will be doing first aid courses through St Johns soon. I hope so anyway. Ally may be a little young as I think you have to be 14 to learn CPR here.

I took a photo of Ebob in her St John's uniform at her first 'duty' - she is so embarrassed while wearing it!! It feels really nerdy to her. Of course she has no problem with the baseball uniform. Go figure.

With that I will send tonnes of thoughts, wishes and vibes to everyone. I think that I may be the only person here who doesn't really need them right now so I see it as my duty to wrinkle my brow and concentrate them across the cyber waves..... did you feel them?

good news here, hubby located empty cardboard boxes, for shipping out his kits, for only $5 each. yep, that is the going price of an empty box, the good price, company got them to us in a timely manner, so he is a happy chappy today,

gone are the days of getting used boxes at local stores, all are recycled. hubby found USED boxes for sale online, $ $4.50 each, he optioned for the new ones. who would have thought it??

That is good news MizT. I see the same sort of problem here with things made out of recycled materials. They price them too high thinking people will pay the high prices to help the environment, without taking into account ability to pay the high prices.

I've still got a bunch, MizT. Leftovers from when I broke my leg. I didn't use many pain meds then, besides the methadone, so I have a nearly full bottle.

I'm leaving for the Lion's Club meeting in a few minutes. The oxycodone is helping the pain without making me drowsy. THEN I get to pick up the Budgies!

Aaah sleep, it's not at all over-rated, is it MizT?
I had a 4.30 trip tp the powder room, then a rude awakening by the neighbour dogs at about 6.30, but didn't here the news on the alarm clock at 7! I woke up to Khesan.

Sending soothing rubs to those who need them.

Suzanne, I sure hope you get to go too.

I am looking forward to going to Port M. for the weekend. I just hope Ken's plane gets in on time on Saturday morning (from Singapore). I spoke to him on Skype last night and he looked very tired. He is in HCMC (Vietnam) at the moment.
It will be nice to meet Viv.
