ROFL - I've done the cart thing too! And chased someone around a store who had taken off with mine, including my reusable bags!
Theresa, it's starting to get colder here. A nasty wind today too.
Viv, I'm so glad they listened to you. You are an incredible daughter in law to be spending so much time at the hospital. I hope his pain is over soon.

Good that they have turned up Heidi.
A little bit of good news... the cousin we stayed with in Florida last year became a Grandmother for the first time yesterday. Her daughter had a little girl, Vera Sophia.
I'll admit to losing my car in a car park. Now I have an application on my phone which , if I remember to use it, tracks the location of my car from the point I start looking for it.

Weather here is lovely and warm at present, but temperatures are forecast to drop for the weekend, which just happens to be a long weekend here. Typical holiday weekend weather!

The Budgies are here, but I'm not happy about it. The seller did not include food or water with them. One arrived dead, and two others are in really bad shape. The others are severely stressed. THIS is why I try to shorten their trip as much as possible.

Heidi, what jjjjjjjjjjjj post? did i fall asleep at the keyboard? happy I was entertaining, at least hehehe. Hope the birds arrive today, It seems someone should recognize that package is alive!
Gail, congrats to daughter, I am sure she did an excellent job.
now, i have tried upgrading my auto in the parking lot, trying to take the cleaner, newer one parked next to mine hehehe, it was the cleanliness that was my first clue. We live on a graveled road, our vehicles are always dirty.
aaaaahhhhhggg, arm is itching under this splint, would love to go scratching, but there are stitches in unknown places under there.
not to worry about over doing, unless I can over do at reading a book, or taking a nap hehehe, AL is still making kunch and dinner, I am allowed to microwave my oatmeal and warm water for hot tea, he does not yet consider me lucid enough for cooking. Anyway, have you tried cooking with only one functional thumb?

Oh, yes, the seller/shipper has been reprimanded. Small birds cannot go that long without food or water. As a breeder, she should have known that. It's not that hard to glue a small plastic container to the floor of the shipping box, and put water and a sponge in it. The sponge is to keep the water from spilling. Seed is just scattered on the floor of the box. Easy peasy, and happy birds.

One of the 2 Budgies in bad shape has passed on.
It's the darkest one in the picture. The other one in bad shape... the white one with blue patches... is improving. I wasn't giving her much hope.

Poor little ones, Heidi. Some people (i.e. the seller) should use their heads for more than a hat rack.

Hi all.
Mama's words are so true.It is amazing that this site doesn't have negative or nasty people, and we truly are united friends sharing our lives. My thanks go to Broni for introducing me to the SA site and MizT for starting it.
Wonderful news MizT that the hand is improving.Don't you just hate that itch under plaster.I used to scratch with a knitting needle after the stitches were out.
Awful to hear some of the budgies died Heidi. How cruel.
Brenda, lovely to hear of a new baby girl,Vera.

After yesterday's heavy and wet snow, it looks like most of my plants will be OK. The flax and lupins were droopy, but it looks like they'll bounce back. All the other plants are OK.

NOLA, gee, you missed a great chance of doing a 2 week prac as my private nurse! lots of interesting papers, too. The effects of high dose narcotic pain meds on the G I tract, and remedies that did not work!
How to adapt household objects into surgical implements; the advantages and disadvantages of knitting needles.
How to take a shower with only one hand.
Oh well, hope you enjoy your 2 weeks a bit closer to home.

MizT... we probably all had a little laugh at your expense with the typo's but understood under the circumstances. I wouldn't know where to start in documenting the drug effects for you.Being your private nurse, now that I would love.
Theresa..glad your plants look like surviving. It is cooling down here now but I am still in short sleeves and it's nearing 6am, which is fairly warm for this time of the year.

Another lovely sunny day here.
Ohhhh sorry to hear about the budgies Heidi.
Welcome Vera Sophia to the big wide world.
Congratulations on your completed assignments Nola.
Suzy, nothing incredible about me. The family, for one reason or another cannot visit him as much as I can so I like him to have some company.
No hot water this morning here.
We have reported it so hopefully it will be checked out today.
Better go and get ready for the day I guess.
I am looking forward to meeting June on Sunday.

I had bought 6 Budgies. They shipped 7. The extra one was a cobalt blue that I really liked. That one arrived dead. Then I lost the dark green one. I have 5 left, but the white pied one is still quite weak and shaky.

Viv, all power to you for being there for your FIL. I have been the main support for a few people who have been in hospital, and I take the role very seriously. If there is something I feel needs to be done for their care or comfort, I have no qualms in saying so. I believe we are there as their advocate, and it is our role to say things on their behalf, that they themselves may not feel strong enough to mention.
Good for you for saying about the IV morph, at this stage, pain relief is what it's all about.

Heidi, the poor budgies! Sending some extra SA vibes to go along with Gails....
MizT, you were amazing considering you had just had surgery and drug reactions!
Viv, I have to disagree. You like him to have company, note the 'you', you are special!
Nola, I'm surprised that I helped! Congratulations on passing all of them!!
Gail, just had a thought, you can post videos on facebook with a very limited number of people able to see them. I've done it before. We could peek and then you could take it down...

Viv, thank you for caring.
Brenda, good to see you back.

Heidi, sorry about the budgies. The seller should have more brains than the birds she is shipping

I've had a talk with the seller. She had never shipped small birds before, and hadn't realized that there would be a problem with the lack of water. She WAS very sad to hear about the 2 Budgies dying. She said that these were her last Budgies, and she won't be shipping any more. But she was grateful for my information as to how to do it right in the future. Chickens and larger birds can make it without water during shipping, but better sellers will include chunks of apple, watermelon or other juicy fruit for the birds to get some liquid.
