V Viv, how exciting that Lachie is pursuing something he cares about! Glad that he's on better hours now!

Theresa, is there a chance that it will be able to come back? The only flowers/plants my hubby didn't mow down were those in a RAISED bed - like a foot higher than the surrounding grass. He kind of remembered there were tulips, but as soon as they flowered, he mowed them down. Guess what happens when the leaves aren't allowed to continue the photosynthesis process? In a few years, there were no more tulips to worry about.

MizT, I'm glad you and hubby could weather the storm in the dome! Hopefully the severe weather was during the day and over by the evening!

Heidi, so sorry you were without power and took water in your finished basement! Hopefully IH had back-ups to the papers/reports damaged by the water.

MizT, I'm glad they were able to remove your rings all in one piece!

Gail, your veggie garden sounds wonderful!

Suzy, what is "damper?" Suzy, I used the link and got to the pictures. I wasn't signed into fb at the time.

June, wishing a safe trip to hubby and safe return Saturday! I hope the painting of your daughter's kitchen ceiling goes well!

Suzy, just followed the link to the story about the "gay dog." Amazing how some people think. (Yes, I understand there was undoubtedly a language barrier.)

And now I have finished page 181.

Julie... I have no idea how you can read so much, and still have time to write your epic posts! I have enough of a problem remembering what I read at the top of the present page.
I'm off to bed now.

A "CP" is a Cereal Post (serial post), five posts or more in a row. It's been named after one of our members (CP) who's notorious for doing them.
It's one of many activities named after members.... like "doing a Gail" (an extended and pleasant lunchtime) or "doing a Heidi" (injuring oneself in an unusual manner).

Thanks for the good wishes for Doc. I hope to hear something (good) today. I think I'm more concerned than IH is. He seems to think nothing will ever happen to his father, and his tiny brain refused to even think about the possibility that it's anything to worry about. When I suggested that he drive up to Wisconsin to stay with Doc through this, he said that he was planning on going up there in 5 weeks for Doc's birthday, and that's soon enough.

I know I'm up early. IH woke me up when he left for the plant. He doesn't seem to care how much noise he makes.

Healing thoughts for your FIL Heidi. I hope they can get some medication to clear away some of that fluid.
Well I got the ceiling painted. It was a large room (about 12ft x 20ft). I am rather feeling the effects of my efforts now! The best thing is it looks OK with one coat of paint!
I did laugh to myself as I am painting my two daughters (Sharon came up with me) are discussing what they are doing with my FB farms. Between the two of them they play the three farms.

Nice to see you here Broni. Pleased your new job is working out.
I think a hot shower and curl up in bed are in order. I hope all those unused muscles have eased up enough to play bowls tomorrow!

That's him to a T, Broni. When his mother was nearing the end, I had to ORDER him to go up to see her. He didn't see any rush to it, and his sister was saying that she was improving and leaving the hospital the next day. My gut feeling was that he HAD to go, or he's regret it for the rest of his life. He got to spend her last 24 hours with her. She was lucid to the end, was ready to go, and they had a good talk.

Heidi, fluid around the heart is not a good thing. It might be time for another order!

Ally hurt herself at TaeKwonDo again - sprained her ankle. It seems to have been minor, but we'll see when she wakes up in the morning and it's had all night to stiffen up.

June, you are a marvel! I bet you are aching!! I hope the shower helps and you sleep well.

IH will NOT listen to me until we get the report from his sister from the hospital. We really got into it last night over him going to see his father. And considering that his sister said that there was no rush to visit his mother, when she only had 36 hours to go, I will suspect her report. She just does not want to be an alarmist and upset anyone unduly.

As much as I'd like to drive up there to visit Doc, I can see no way to do it. Besides all of the outside animals to care for, there are the inside critters. There are a lot of birds to feed and water, but most important are the collies. Most are geriatrics, and some have health issues. The main problem is Rain. I cannot ask someone else to deal with her incontinence. I clean up urine many times a day, on wooden floors, tiled floors and carpet.

That was truly inspirational. Gail, pass the kleenex please. This story could go for people as well ... let your kids be who they want to be and not what you want them to be.

Thanks Heidi!

I just heard from Gil. His father DID have a heart attack, and has only 25% function of his aorta. He's going in for surgery either this evening or tomorrow. Gil has cleared his schedule so he can drive up to Wisconsin ASAP and spend the week there.

MEANWHILE...... I've been a bad girl again.
I've added to my bird collection. I just bought 6 Budgies on eggbid. They're arriving from Mississippi tomorrow evening. I put a picture of them on my page. The person I got them from was selling them as a group, not individually.

Well done Heidi, one of the things I am so pleased with about when both parents were nearing their end, I was lucky enough to be able to share their last week with them. Life throws us enough regrets, we don't need to add to them.

Glad IH is going to see his dad, Heidi. It is very important to get a chance to spend time with loved ones when they are ill.

BTW, our weather forecast is calling for the possibility of wet snow flurries overnight and tomorrow!!! The temps will be above freezing (slightly), so the snow won't stay, but this is not what I wanted to hear. When I checked the weather yesterday it was calling for sun and temps in the mid teens all week. How can they be so very wrong? Their dart board must have been broken.

I didn't say that he was going to see his Dad, I said that I think I've convinced him to go. He'll do everything he can to talk himself out of it because he wants to believe that there's no serious problem.

Gail you are such a softy!!
Heidi, I hope Gil goes and I wish you could too. Sending more vibes for a successful surgery...

Theresa, I love the dart board comment too! lol

June, I hope your muscles are feeling better this morning. Enjoy bowls!

Nola, Ally's ankle seems much better this morning. It had ice put on it straight away and must not have been a major sprain.

I went up to the grocery, when i had to get new pain med prescription filled, another shopper stopped me, saying "your hand sure looks like it hurts did this just happen?"

We will see if changing meds will help. pharmacist was not so sure it would, meds very similar, oh well.
