My good friend, Shelley, is picking me up soon. I was supposed to go to her area, about 30 minutes north of me, but without a car I can't. We are going out to lunch and then to do some shopping. I need some new clothes for school and she is going to help pick them out. I don't get to see her often but we do try our best to stay in touch. She told me to pick where ever I want to go shopping. There is an outlet mall not far from me but I go there a lot. I think I am going to head south to an area that has a lot of good stores but they are not in the same shopping center so we will have to drive between them. I know she won't mind.

Tami, enjoy the shopping trip and wishing you lovely, just right for you bargains. It does help to have a friend when shopping for clothes, you are fortunate to have her assistance.

Shoot cannot remember much of the last page,

Suzy, hope you survived the night. Your girls will remember the sleep overs, you giving them memories, that is what you were thinking .

Hand says " that's all folks", catch you later, hugs.

Tricia, my friend will be a big help picking out things but the shopping trip is more of an excuse to get together. We have different schedules and don't have many chances to see each other. It will be fun just spending time with her, and if I find some bargains it will be even better.

Can you click on a website to help children like my grandson?

you might remember, I mentioned my grandson got a service dog for autistic children. Now Pepsi will fund charities based on votes.

My grandson received his service dog through this program, service dogs for Autistic children. With the dog, he is able to go places, do things he has never done before. I think it might be something about taking something so familiar and comforting to him into new, strange surroundings overpowering to an autistic child. There is just too much stimulus without his dog. This spring, he has been to a movie, out to eat in a fast food restaurant, to a baseball game and to his sister's wedding and reception. He stayed in a hotel overnight and slept, something most difficult before the dog. Every day things like going to the grocery with his Mom, never did that before. Going for a walk in his neighborhood. soo many things, so life changing for them all.

Can you go to this website every day and vote for Pepsi to help fund this charitable program, service dogs for autistic children? My grandson got this dog FREE to his family, and these dogs are expensive to train. lets vote and help put these dogs with other children.

These dogs were for some reason not fit for seeing eye dogs, but a LOT had been invested in their early training. They are well suited to be a service dog for autistic children.

Unfortunately you will have to create an account, but once done it gets you in every day. You can vote through facebook if you have that, or text message if your phone does that. One vote per day per method, I think, so for August 2010, can you please vote every day?? And if you think this a good thing, ask your friends and co-workers to vote also, please.

Hope you can navigate the site, and create your account and vote daily.

Send me a private message if you cannot get the web address to work and I will send to you again.

I voted, MizT. Autistic children seem to have a strong affinity and bond with animals. I can't think of anything better for an autistic child than a service dog.

Thank you Heidi. You are right, some unexplained affinity between them, you said that well.

I shall put up a reminder to return each day when I go vote.

I'll leave here in 30 minutes to get her. At her age, I don't expect her to be here for more than a year, but I hope it's longer.

Morning all!
MizT, what an amazing story about the service dogs. Who would have thought? I will vote too. I searched on fb and couldn't find it but did find another amazing story about 'same as me'. An autistic girl wouldn't get on a plane so her mother wrote a book about everything she would experience. They read it together for a few months and then successfully flew somewhere. Apparently the girl was so proud she is trying other things. They are writing more books to help other children.

Heidi, I hope your new Collie gets to stay with you for a while.

Broni, cold here too, but the sun is shining so I will get some swearing done.

There's one little guy here, 4ft nothing, W, who has the foulest mouth. His excuse is 'I'm 13, what ever is in my head comes out my mouth'. He does have the decency to look a little embarrassed. He started to say one thing, saw me and stopped mid sentence, I said yep, the mother's in the room and we don't say stuff like that'. He almost blushed. Which considering the unrepeatable thing he said is kind of ironic.

Had a nice day with my friend. She found 4 shirts, I found nothing. I did find a pair of shoes but not in my size. Now I have to call other stores to see if they have it.
Suzy, glad you survived the night.
Heidi, hope the new dog enjoys being with you.

Party anecdote:
Early in the evening hubby was cutting wood with a circular saw. One of the kids made a comment about hoping he didn't do that later. That was before most of the kids arrived.

Much much later he snuck very quietly outside and then into the back room through one of the 6 entrances this house has. He simultaneously shook the door between the back room and the lounge room and revved up the circular saw a few times. The screams almost shook the house down!!!

I'm back with the new dog... Lady. She's a real sweetheart and totally non-aggressive, so she's getting along well already. She's supposedly 14, but she looks and acts younger, so she may be here for several years.

One down. The 13 yo. His mother is lovely. He is an only child and she had a lovely night alone with her husband, which apparently doesn't happen very often.

Tami, shame you didn't find any clothes, but I'm glad you had a good day. I hope you have another chance to go shopping before you go back to school. One of Ebob's friends was here when the saw thing happened and he said it was 'awesome with perfect timing'. Apparently a door was about to open in the movie.

Suzy, I am glad the party was a success. I am supposed to take me niece for lunch and shopping next Saturday. Maybe I will get lucky then. I found my shoes in another store in a close size. I wear a 10.5 which no one caries. I usually buy the 11 but sometimes the 10 will fit. They are holding the 10 for me and I will go tomorrow. I need shoes more than I need clothes.

June, Laura is a lucky young lady being able to share her time between the city and all it offers and land with horses etc and all that offers.

Three down.

Tami, shoes that don't fit just right with teaching would probably not be a great thing. Hopefully you will find something the right size.

I'm waiting for the last one to leave, then I'll put the swishy thing on and have a nap! Hubby and I will have a glass of wine or two tonight...

ROFL Heidi!

Theresa, sending hugs!

The last of the guests have gone, the worst of the rubbish has been picked up... Did I tell you they had a food fight? Luckily with wrapped lollies/candy. I found 7 Freddo frogs for later... When I move the furniture back where it goes I know I'll find more ffuts, but that's all I have the energy for now. Play for a while, pick up Ebob from work... nap time!

Theresa, thank you so much, I appreciate your vote and sure the charity does also.

I looked through part of the Pepsi refresh site, finding programs that have been funded in recent months. Interesting mix, it all depends on who could get the votes.

Hello, Everyone! Past 11:30 p.m. here and need to be up by 6 a.m. Just taking a few minutes to read & say hello.

Hi, Heidi, Suzy, MizTricia, Broni, Vivacious Viv, Suzy, June, and Tami!

Heidi, I hope the heat and humidity soon abate!

MizT, sounds like you're enjoying photos of the wedding, even if you can't download any! Seems like your very creative daughter takes after her very creative mother!

MizTricia, thank you for clearing up the history behind the backwards spelling! I was hoping someone would elaborate - was surprised that I may have had the first opportunity to explain! MizT, also wanted to thank you for sharing your little trick for the backwards spelling using the left arrow!

Broni, I hope things at your new-old job will soon be much easier for you!

V Viv, between your Avon and the play rehearsals, it's no wonder that you haven't had much time to supervise Ethan's driving! Good luck with the knitted dog coats!

Suzy, I hope the party went well! What a great Mum!

June, sorry the bowls didn't go as well as you'd hoped! Please take care of yourself! Hoping you can soon be rid of the cold and cough! I heard on the radio today that at least one study suggests that Vitamin D, rather than Vitamin C, helps with colds. They said that is why there are more colds in the winter. Our bodies can utilize Vitamin D from (NOT excessive, but mild) sun exposure, which we don't get during the darker winter months.

Tami, I'm glad you're enjoying seeing old photos of your hubby and his family on your BIL's facebook page!

That takes me to the end of page 300.

Darn! Too many comments on page 301 to read and react. Sounds like the dishwasher is finished. I need to empty it and get to bed!

Just to let you all know, the next couple of days are going to be crazy-busy. I'm not sure if I'll have time to get here before late Tuesday night here - or even Wednesday night.

Sending positive vibes, prayers, {{{hugs}}} and warm feelings to all of my friends! Sending some cooler and drier weather (I hope) to Heidi, MizT, Tami, Suzanne, and anyone who could use it.

Evening all!
I've just slept for 3 hours! Woke up just after hubby had hung the clothes on the line (who was it that said it wasn't swearing if you didn't do it yourself? Heidi?). Drat, if I'd woken up 5 minutes earlier.. hehe.

MizT, your daughter sounds wonderful! I wish we could see the photos, but at least you got to. Maybe she'll have some others that you can steal later.

June, sorry you lost at bowls. You must really enjoy the game if you have a good time even in a cold wind.

Viv, people say to us - paid lessons earn 3 times as many hours - so all you have to do is come up with enough money to pay for 20 lessons and he's there. Yeah right!

Good Evening my Friends.
MizT, that is what I want to know what is the little trick for the backwards spelling using the left arrow?
Zusy, hope you are sitting back with a glass of wine now. Go Hubby!
Have a good few busy days Julie.
Heidi, hope Lady's first night is without incident.
Tami, I need shoes too, but after breaking my ankle when I was 30 (gosh that is a long time ago!) can only wear flat shoes and I hate shopping.
