A bit cool this morning (a light frost). Why did I say I would go to the dentist at 8.30am?

I had a cat that loved peanuts. I even saw himcrunch up one in a shell to get the nut out. And yes he was also named 'Peanuts'. He also liked to play with running water. If you left the bathroom door open when running a bath you would come back and find the cat in the bath! He also like to ride in the basket of my pushbike.I had to leave him at the farm when I got married but he did live for about 22 years.

Good Morning June, hope dentist appointment goes well.

Hi to Broni, always nice to see you drop in even if you cannot catch up at the moment.

Heidi, it was best to come in from the heat, hope you can get more done tomorrow.

Morning all!
I slept in this morning! I woke briefly at 7am when the morning routine started, meant to get up, but actually woke up an hour later! Just in time to catch Ally before she left her lunch sitting on the table.

June, I hope the appointment goes well this morning. With a back tooth I'd be tempted to just have it pulled and be done with it!!

Nomnom also likes cheese corn chips. Tiptap loves cola so much he will actually climb into your glass. Baby has acquired a taste for wine.

Morning everyone.
Am up early for a change.

The car is being picked up around 8.00am, off to the mechanics for a service.

Meeting up with Mary at Café Rola, for cuppa this morning (she is bringing the Macaroons - we have been talking about Macaroons since the Masterchef Macaroons Challenge).

6th August 1910 Peter's Grandma was born, she would have been 100 today.
6th August 1916 my dad was born, he would have been 94 today.

Hi all - Rolanda, just looking at your post above.
31st July 1915 - my Dad was born - he would have been 95 last Saturday! Gone but not forgotten, indeed.
Haven't caught up on reading yet and still busy this morning - may be back later today.
Thank you all for your lovely messages of sympathy - we were touched. Colin was somewhat surprised and wants me to thank you all. I think he finally really understands why you people mean so much to me.

Good evening everyone. It has been a strange day, as usual. My car has been in the shop since Monday and the mechanic can not figure out what is wrong. The on board computer said one thing and when he replace the appropriate part, it was still broke. He is away for the weekend so I won't get my car back until sometime next week. Boys have orthodontist appointments tomorrow. Mom and dad are picking us up and playing taxi service.

Heidi, That is what he thinks. He is away for the weekend and will get back to it on Monday. I would usually question his ability but he came highly recommended from my brother who has known him for 20 years. The mechanic does not want me to get the car back until he is sure it will not break down and leave me stranded somewhere.

Two fillings and cleaned. Did not need an injection today.
Cleaning out the fish pond. The poor fish were swimming around in very green water.
It is a beautiful day out in the sun.

Hi all, 'chucked a mental' this morning, sometimes it's all just too much. A hug from hubby, a weep and a moan and I', now over it.
He and I have just come back from brekky at the cafe, it was going to be lunch, but we decided this would fit in better with everything else that has landed on our plates since getting up this morning!

Hi Bean

Can't remember if I mentioned Bill's SIL, June, who had a stroke some weeks ago and was not doing very well. Anyway, when I spoke to Bill last week, he told me that she had passed away on Wednesday, a blessing in the end. She had been moved to a home, and the last two times her hubby Keith had visited, she had no knowledge of anything, and was pretty well permanently comatose.
She was an elderly lady, and as Bill says, when you get to there age, it is expected.
RIP June ♥

Hi Bean, nice to see you here.

Yikes Gail! I've chucked a few of those mentals in the last few weeks. Problem is I feel better for a little while but the cause of the 'mentals' remains! I'm sorry to hear about June.

RIP June ♥

I have those 'chuck a mental' times too.
As recent as last week, when trying to organise a week away in October with the Husband (a time to recharge his battery in readiness for the silly season - job wise!),
and only to be told Tuesday Eve 'oh am booked (jobs)till the (Monday) 18th Oct' - I have been at him for weeks, 'lets discuss when it suits before you get booked up' !!!
His big Five Oh Party is on the 30th Oct.
I need at least a week to get the plans into action!
and going away later than that is too close to the big C, and he will have too many jobs to fit in before C.
I would like Sat to Sat.. but it looks like it will be Tues to Sat. Better than nothing!!

RIP June - sorry to hear this, Gail.

This is really getting me down - so many people have died lately. As well as my MIL, Vi, Gail's Aunt June - I know of at least another 6 in the last 6 weeks. What is happening? I suppose this is life as you get older.

Sitting at the computer in a darkened room, waiting for meds to kick in. Just enough uncomfortable to keep me from falling asleep, bummer.

We had thunder storms again, all around us, and a bit of rain here. this time the storms waited till dark, so we had a nice light show in the distance.

I never made it back out with the weedwacker, but I had done the part that was annoying me. The rest is in pretty good shape, considering how long it has been since done before. Too hot for weeds to grow??

One of my morning medications is making me extremely dizzy about 2 hours after taking meds. I was looking them up today, and dizziness is listed as a side effect of both my BP pills, my Blood sugar medication, my fibromyalgia medication. all of them list dizziness as a side effect. Finding the one responsible for my dizzy could be challenging.

I did find out why I was having problems with one of the pain meds I took. It does not play well with the fibro medication. Gee, why do docs ask for a list of everything you are taking if they are not going to look at it when prescribing meds?

Think I will go read a few pages. See if that helps the going to sleep process. hugs to all.

Good Evening, fellow Sudokuaholics!

Hi, Suzy, Rolanda, June, Heidi, Theresa, Nola, MizTricia, Broni, CynB, Tami, Bean, Gail, and anyone I've missed!

Suzy, enjoyed your Nomnom and stinky minced beef stories! It's so nice you can get a discount with Ebob's card! I hope you got all the supplies put away neatly!

Rolanda, hope S#1 is enjoying his week - and hopefully his meet-up with vdV!

June, so sorry that the time in the dentist's chair was a bit less than pleasurable! Impressions at the very back of the mouth are awful! I hope your cough is better!

Heidi, so glad IH is out of the way! I hope you and Robert made progress on the fence! Has the heat and humidity subsided a bit? I hope both you and Robert are feeling better! Oops! I see you wisely decided to postpone much of the work until tomorrow. I hope it will be much cooler and more comfortable for working!

Theresa, it sounds like you had a busy day on your "day off!" I hope all is well in your and your daughter's households!

Nola, I'm glad you could pop in during a break from studying! I hope your coursework is going well!

MizT, Aug. 9 really seems early for the start of the school year! It has been ages since Illinois would wait until after Labor Day to start - seems like it's the last week of Aug. now. My sister in Iowa and a friend in Texas usually have students by the third week of August or earlier.

Broni, we're looking forward to the weekend when you will hopefully be less busy! In the meantime, we're glad you could pop in!

Rolanda, a bittersweet day for you today as you think of those whose birthdays would be celebrated today! Happy Birthday to both of them and {{{hugs}}} to you and your family!

CynB, sending warm thoughts and {{{hugs}}} to you and your family! It has been a tough couple of weeks for you!

Tami, I hope your days start getting calmer and you can get a bit of a rest in the next week as you approach the end of camp and the beginning of your school year! Good luck with your car getting fixed! Please tell Bobbi and Bernie Hi from us! (At least it sounds like the mechanic is responsible - not wanting you to run the risk of the car breaking down and leaving you stranded!)

Rolanda, thanks for letting us know about the picture on Easy! RIP, Ruby!

June, it sounds like your dentist appointment went well! I bet the fish in the pond are also glad, as you were able to clean the pond!

Woo Hoo! A visit from Bean - and I missed her! We hope you come back a bit more frequently!

Gail, sending warm thoughts and {{{hugs}}} and positive vibes for you and hubby! Hopefully things will get a bit easier for both of you as time goes on! I hope you and Hannah are continuing on the mend! RIP to Bill's SIL June!

Rolanda, I hope you and hubby can work in a Tues. - Sat. get-away battery recharge soon! Yep, that needs to get put on the calendar just as much or more than the paying jobs!

Heidi, enjoy your quiet evening!

Because you asked, S

And now to post the rest of those comments:

Because you asked, Suzy, my hubby is doing well! About 42 or 43 pens are finished, I think. He has run into some problems with equipment, including the metal cylinder that fits inside the wood and into which the pen workings go. He has replaced some of the tools and equipment and even gone to buy new cylinders. (His guess is that the kits were donated and aren't made as well as the ones he's used to.) Since we're way behind schedule and had some major house gninaelc to be done before D and her new boyfriend came for a visit, he has been concentrating on the pens and I got "lucky" with the gninaelc assignment! Since they have been here, we have been to a movie (first one in well over a year), played miniature golf, gone out for several meals - generally been busy. He can make a pen in about 30 minutes or less, and it takes me probably twice that long, so he has taken over the job. (We hope to have all 50 done by Tuesday night. We have a 75th birthday party for a friend on Saturday, then Sunday & Monday a 4-5 hour drive each day taking D and boyfriend to a festival where she will teach & play a recital. We'll get home after 2 a.m. on Tuesday, and the meeting is Tuesday night. I'll try to get hubby to take a photo of some of the pens. Is that WAY more than you wanted to know?

MizT, I hope the medicine's effects kick in soon! Good luck determining which of the medications is causing the unwanted dizziness! Sweet dreams!

It's about 12:15 a.m. I'm going to empty the rehsawhsid and head to bed. Good Night and sleep tight!
