Thanks everyone. My 1st reaction wasn't as calm as it is now. It was more OMG,but as Greg said he has had it for years. He will be happier if they can fix the headaches.
As for the scabies!!!it seems to be part of the industry like head lice is in child care.

NOLA, so sorry to hear that hubby has a brain cyst. I am also appaled that it will be months to see a specialist. I am sure at this point they do not know if it is a benign cyst and will not till the specialist, will they? Huge hugs to you and hubby, and I am glad he is optimistic about this.

Now the diabetes, will he need the blood sugar pills, or insulin? They put him on a diet? Gee, we nursey people just have so many questions when health problems crop up in posts. Of course you do not have to answer if you think me too nosey. But I do care. Wishing him the best outcome on both these problems.

In case I have forgotten to say it, I want to thank you all for your thoughts and wishes when my heart broke earlier this week. I'm sorry I haven't posted lots of details in here, I know the parents among you understand why. I'm coping a lot better than I was, thanks to the wonderful people around me.

Nola, thinking of you and hubby. His positive attitude should have a positive effect. Sorry about the scabies. As for lice, I am lucky enough to have never had it and neither have my boys. We had one case at camp a few years ago but no outbreak.
Heidi, glad Robert is finally having his surgery. Wish him a speedy recovery for me. Please post when done and let us know that all went well.

It is just a little too coincidental.

Do you see the difference in "from"? And I didn't sound like eaa. I was just taunting her a little go get her to speak up. It's worked before on SA8.

Good morning all -
Firstly, Nola - I can imagine your first reaction was OMG! Hugs, thoughts and best wishes go out to Greg and to you as you deal with all of this.
As for Scabies - my Dad got it in the first home he was in, we moved him because it took them so long to admit what it was. Hope it clears up for you and all who came into contact with it at work.

She's been off on that other page this morning. Apparently she lost a trivia contest by one point because she didn't know where women had the curliest hair. The correct answer is Fiji. Hubby said he would have guessed Africa.

Krispy Kreme donuts - yummmm!
Rolanda - you might not have them there in WA but there was a chain of stores/coffee shops over there - and I forget the name - that sell, donuts, muffins, danishes, cakes etc. There was one in the block opposite the Hilton and we went there for breakfast each morning - I still remember them. We don't have them in Qld but not sure if they are in other states.
Do you know the ones I mean? They were on every corner in the city area.

Tami, we never had a problem with lice until we moved here. Might have had something to do with whole classes lining up for inspection by the school nurse and exclusion from school until given the all clear. Here they handled it so incompetently that they aren't allowed to inspect anymore. Did I ever tell you the story of Ebob's humiliation?

TAMI, I almost fell for the Heidi as eea post, thought we were being set up, then read closer and saw it was all pretend hehehe. Good One Heidi!

Lice and scabies, you people have me scratching my head just at the mention! Perhaps I have to great an imagination.

Suzy, I do think I read about Ebob's humiliation, remember thinking how cruel a way to treat a child.

Head lice went around youngest daughters class, just at the age when they borrow clothing, combs, caps and such. VERY hard to eradicate with so much sharing going on. I know I had to treat twice, she reinfected herself swapping a hat for a scarf ( winter time) , I made HER do the laundry to wash all bedding and towels. Might have reminded her to be more careful!

Rolanda - Dome - doesn't sound familiar - and we have the odd one here in Qld.
Found it - just did a half-hour Google search and the places I was thinking of are called 'Croissant Express' - not big, flash or classy - mainly used by workers on their way to work for a quick coffee but their baked goods were fresh and their coffee great.

Twas not long talking with Mr Next Door this afternoon, I just heard their 19 yr old D is PG!!!
Apparently the young girls, take only the pills that stop the monthlies, and not the ones that actually do the preventative.
She was around 16weeks when she found out she was PG. Mr and Mrs Next Door, twas not 'Happy Jan' !! They have accepted the enviable and are looking forward to the Grandie.
D is moving out and renting with BF nearby.

Rolanda - here is the website. Funny thing is that there is a store in Brisbane CBD. Trouble is, because I never go in there, I didn't know it existed. Must find an excuse to go to town now.

SUZY, that was over 30 years ago. I imagine it is worse here now too. All the little mites, insects, fungi, are invading the human world more and more often now. I know just what you mean by scrambled egg for brains, been feeling a bit scrambled myself. Your description is most descriptive.

Heidi, I know the hanging orchids add a lot to your sun room. Looking forward to the photos, when you get a chance. WE will not hound you about more photos, much

Nola, the Ivermectin, is that the systemic medication, the pill you take? I read a bit about scabies earlier tonight, but as I am getting sleepier, less and less of what I read is sticking. Does the Ivermectin have side effects?

SEnding get well wishes to you and Greg both, just in case I forgot earlier. If I did, well, you ha ve twice the wishes.

SUZY, I about choked on my tea when I read the curly hair question as you wrote it. If I were asked where women have the curliest hair, I would not be thinking country, but body part! BAD TRICIA ?? Or Nurse Tricia??

Rolanda, what about a dome???

Sad to hear of the young lady pregnant at 19. I do hope the baby daddy will be supportive and take care of them.

Good Night friends, I am getting very sleepy. Hope I sleep as well as last night again tonight. I was too busy for my nap today, and for the life of me cannot name what kept me so busy. think cause of the scrambled brains, everything took longer!

Hugs and love and wishes for good health to each of you, and bigger hugs, more love to all those facing difficult times. Too many to name and I would forget someone, but each of you was thought of tonight.

Ivermectin is a swear word here. I do not allow it, or anything that has touched it, anywhere near the house or yard. You see, it is a deadly poison to Collies. Always has been. It became apparent shortly after the product was developed. Since IH is a Veterinary Parasitologist, and does research with the various parasiticides, he worked with it even before it got approval. I told him that nothing that touched it was to come in the yard. He, and the top Veterinarian at Merck both poo-pooed my concerns. IH set a pan, that he had spilled 1 drop of Ivermectin in, and rinsed out, in the yard to dry. The dogs were playing and one of the dogs - Jake - stepped in the pan. We know because he left a footprint. Within half an hour, he was convulsing with the same symptoms as strychnine poisoning. He was rushed to the Vet Clinic, where he spent 2 weeks in intensive care. Strychnine poisoning has an antidote. Ivermectin poisoning does not. The Vet had to put up signs warning people to whisper only. Any noise would set off convulsions. Jake survived, but with brain damage. I nearly killed IH and banned Merck's top Vet from our property.
