I think you were meant to have the bad thoughts Heidi and MizT. The way the joke is written by Eaa, it is implied that that was the answer she gave.
Bad night tonight. But we learn something from those so they are good.

Do I have to do all the talking today?
I'm off to the farm store in a little while to get a new water tank for the cows. Their present one has sprung 3 leaks.

Hi all. I was going to call in again yesterday but became so busy.Cleaned Renae's house and then mine leaving no motivations left.
Heidi, good news that Robert will have surgery soon.
Does the Ivermectin have the same effect on all dogs or just collies?
Mizt, sooo funny reading about where women have the curliest hair. You and Heidi are bad girls.hehe
Yes, Greg is diet controlled with 2 meds,so not too bad, they just have to get the dose right.
As for side effect of ivermectin,I haven't certain medical problems or taking meds that could contravene, and haven't noticed any of the others.Just hope it works.
We are getting some lovely rain, the slow soak in kind.

Had a nasty trip home from the farm store. I bought a new galvanized stock tank, tied it down on the trailer (the men at the farm store thought, like me, that it was well tied down). There was one bridge to cross, and as I crossed it, a nasty updraft caught the tank and broke it loose from the ties. It flew 20 to 30 feet in the air before dropping the 400 feet to the stream below and smashing. All I could do was stop and look over the railing to the tank below. It might take 4 men, or more, to get it up again, but with all the big rocks and boulders on the sides, it would be too dangerous. So I spent $300 and lost it.

OH MY HEIDI, now that was a freak updraft to do that. Did you get it home the second time? Use really strong ropes as tie downs> I am sorry you lost the tank, but glad that updraft did not tip your trailer over and cause damage to it or your truck.
Heidi, I have never heard of the med causing such terrible problems to a collie, that was some experience. Was the drug co aware of this? did they put warning on their product after your experience?
time for a nap, hope I can slep a bit today.
Hugs to all, and still sending healing thoughts, wishes and prayers to our sick.

Yes, MizT... Merck/ Meriel knew what it did to Collies back then in 1996. They just tried to minimize the publicity at the time. Vets and collie breeders are aware of the toxicity and don't risk using ivermectin around collies. Actually, Ivermectin is rapidly losing popularity among cattlemen. Worms have developed resistance to it, and it doesn't work well any more.

Morning all,
Heidi, I think she meant the second replacement tank since you'll still need one. The outcome of that experience could have been so much worse! I'm glad it was just the tank that was lost.
Nola, I have enough trouble getting one house clean let alone 2!! I hope they sort out the doses for the meds quickly. From the info MizT has posted getting a diet right can be a full time job.

I had an epiphany about shows like Idol and X-factor on Friday. During the auditions we all watch and think 'Why didn't someone tell them they can't sing?' At Pride rehearsal Alie (she's Alie to me when she's singing) was belting out the songs. Sometimes it sounded brilliant, but other times she missed it by that < > much. On one of those times I looked over and cringed just a little. One of the mothers looked at me and said 'she's great isn't she? I wish she was 2 years older so she could audition of X-factor...' I call it mutual admiration societies. School friends are the worst offenders.

I will go and get another tank tomorrow, but from a different store. The one I destroyed was the only one that store had. I'll buy a bunch more tie downs and criss-cross them all over the tank.

Heidi, sorry you lost the tank but glad nothing else was damaged.
Tricia, I must have been thinking the same as you. Fiji was not the answer I was thinking of.
Dinner went well tonight. The major holidays are over until next year. Only had 8 tonight, thought I was going to have 10. Plenty of leftovers for tomorrow.

There's a website where you can find your pirate name. You answer 20 questions to help them find the best name for you. They give you a name and a reason for the name. Mine be Mad Bess Flint.... because...
"Every pirate is a little bit crazy. You, though, are more than just a little bit. Like the rock flint, you're hard and sharp. But, also like flint, you're easily chipped, and sparky. Arr!"

Ahoy there me hearties - from Jelly Legs Madeline - chose that for my grandie.
Heidi - love your pirate name - but was so concerned about that drug and the damage it can cause collies - how awful!
About 10 years ago a doctor prescribed the drug Zyban (an antidepressant) for my husband to help him quit smoking. Within 3 weeks of commencing it, he was uncommunicative, depressed, angry and walked out on me and our marriage. By the next morning we had both worked out what had caused this dramatic change to his personality, stopped the Zyban, went away for a week together while we both recovered from the trauma. Found out afterwards that despite being an antidepressant, it caused severe depression in many people and some had even taken their own lives. He admits to having those feelings. I am so thankful that we worked out the problem early enough to save him and our marriage. But I am so sceptical about any medication prescribed to us since.

Had a similar problem Cyn, when the doctors could not work out why I was still in pain so they put me on a mild anti depressant which apparently can help with pain. Totally changed my personality and was drepressed and angry, fortunately my friends could see what was happening and begged me to stop it. Never going back to that supposed specialist again. When I finally got hold of him to let him know it was not working his answer was "Well there is nothing else I can do for you"

I am Captain Mary Rackham
Even though there's no legal rank on a pirate ship, everyone recognizes you're the one in charge. You have the good fortune of having a good name, since Rackham (pronounced RACKem, not rack-ham) is one of the coolest sounding surnames for a pirate. Arr!

Broni, don't you just love doctors like that. They get a medical degree and a lot of them think they know it all and can never be wrong.
Cyn, sorry to hear that your hubby had such a bad reaction. Thankfully you figured out what was wrong quickly.

Like the name, Cap'n Mary Rackham. Reminds me of Calico Jack Rackham and the two female pirates on his ship... Mary Reed and Anne Bonney.

I have to go foraging among my clean clothes. I need to find either my tee that says International Talk Like A Pirate Day, or the Anne Bonney shirt. I'll have to wear one of them when I go for another water tank.

Afternoon all,
Just back from a trip to buy Weet-bix. Ally decided that she has gained an embarrassing amount of weight, so much that she is not comfortable going to try on dresses. She was refusing most foods, but agreed to Weet-bix, which of course we were out of. Isn't it always the way??? We have eaten a lot of junk since last Tuesday, including KKs so I have no problem with her deciding no more there, but... if she's gained any weight at all it's a half a kilo... yep, watching closely. Also bought her favourite dinner food while we were out. If the temptation is strong enough, the will will prove weak.. hehe

Passion is a big part of your life, which makes sense for a pirate. Even though you're not always the traditional swaggering gallant, your steadiness and planning make you a fine, reliable pirate. Arr!

Even though there's no legal rank on a pirate ship, everyone recognizes you're the one in charge. You can be a little bit unpredictable, but a pirate's life is far from full of certainties, so that fits in pretty well. Arr!
