I'm having a good laugh about young people on facebook right now. They copy and 'like' stuff without really knowing what it means! My niece changed her status to

<-- OMG Facebook knows my name. (stalkers)

Of course we put our names into facebook so this is obviously a joke about all the privacy stuff.

My niece's friend posted underneath: you put it there, duh

I posted: (That's the joke..)

Niece posted: I'm confused.

Friend posted: I get it lol

Okay Cyn, I've picked out about 6 of the items on your list that I want NOW. Lucky cyber food has no calories. Oops kilojoules...

Suzy - cyber food doesn't cost either.
I saw that post of yours and got it but didn't post.
I have an 11yo old niece Jasmine, who to Col's and my horror is on FB. Some of the things she 'likes' are really awful and I doubt that she understands. I'm sure her parents, who are technologically challenged, aren't aware. But they should never have let her join yet. My older grandies are desperate to join FB but are not allowed - no way.

Cyn I posted to a 20 year old friend that she likes 'naughty' things. I thought I was joking - she had no idea what I meant. If she saw it, she 'liked' it...

Well, I'm off to bed I think. Have a good evening/night/day all.

Yes, I need one of every goodie plus a heap of headache tablets and several cigarettes, I have just tried to download our mobile phone bill. Nobody does anything on paper any more. They sent me an email telling me the total. I want to see why it is above what I expected but, despite having my user name and password, I can't get in. I'm so frustrated, I have paid it without checking (for now) because I thought if I had to phone to get them to 'guide' me through it, I might swear at them.
Be calm, stay calm!!

Well that sucked. My SIL posted on facebook asking how things are here. She is in CA. I sent her a PM about Ebob. I had to start at the beginning because the same as I didn't tell you guys about all of the hassles until it got really bad, I hadn't told her anything either. I got to Ebob leaving and had to leave it at that....

Computers can be wonderful things, but they can be frustrating. I refuse to get my credit card statement electronically because I want the statement on paper. They keep e-mailing me, asking me to switch to paperless statements, but I'm not falling for it. I want it on paper.

NOLA, I have never had a leg ulcer or any other diabetic related problem. My diabetes is under very good control. My A1C (the 3 month check on sugar) is below 6, and it hardly ever is for a person with diabetes. My fasting blood sugar is around 104, my 2 hour ones are in the 90's. now, i think we use a different scale than you use down under, but these are very good numbers. My doc started treating early and aggressively.

Hello everyone!
Tami, Therese and Cyn I'm sorry to hear about your difficulties. I understand what you are going through as we went through something similar when Kevin was off work for 9 months last year after his shoulder op. His pay dropped dramatically and James was also out of work for a while. Supporting them and a full time student meant that our bank balance disappeared totally.
I nearly cancelled our holiday to Victoria but so much had already been paid for that we would have lost more than we saved by not going.
Anyway things have certainly looked up this year but I still don't feel we can lash out freely with our money.
The dishwasher died a fortnight ago and it is on the back burner until I see a really good deal. It certainly won't kill us to wash dishes - a fridge or washing machine would be another matter.
Thinking of you all and sending hugs and for things to improve and life to resume a more even keel.

I think I've missed Susan's visit to Brissie. I went to my mothers on Saturday and forgot to take my phone with me. I didn't know anything about getting together until late yesterday and it was far too late. I'll try to give her a call before she goes home tomorrow.

Back from shopping - summer's a-comin - the car was so hot when I got back in.
Heidi - I'll bet they won't switch me back to hard-copy bills and I can't change because we just got new mobiles with 24 month terms.
Vicki - sorry you missed Susan, so did I. Maybe Broni or Kerrie made it.

Chocolate situation sorted! I bought 2 lots - one hubby will know about, the other he won't. He bought me some chocolate last week. I had a bit of it, went looking for it the next day and it was ALL gone! Hence the lot he won't know about this time....

As far as a BBQ for Susan early next year - giving you fair warning (and I'll tell her too) the weekend of 15/16 Jan is definately O-U-T for me!

Broni, my mother and husband assure me that I don't have any major dramas either - Ebob does. They have both decided she can lie in the bed she has made until she wakes up - how's that for a metaphor???

And I don't think anyone here wants anyone to feel sorry for them/us/me - we are just grateful for a place to vent and get it out of our systems with caring ears/eyes here for us.

Cyn, do tell what's on that weekend - I hope it's a trip to Sydney, or a little further south...

Growling here! Do you know what you do when you get a whole lot of paint on the carpet and you know you will get in trouble for it? You cover it up with stuff so mum won't see it. Then when you move out and mum uncovers it, it has been there for so long mum can't get it out!!! Grrrrrr

Suzy, I agree with hubby/mom that Ebob needs to lie in the bed she made. Eventually she will realize that things are not always what they appear to be.
Cyn, thanks for the wonderful buffet you put out. I have seen several tasty things and will be enjoying them shortly. The bubbly will have to wait until later. Have to go to school soon

Thanks to all my friends for the good wishes. Just knowing you care does help. I understand about the appliances. My dryer is making a very funny noise although it does work. I am looking at a used replacement as I can't afford new. Hanging the clothes is not an option as I don't have a place and am not allowed to put a clothes line outside. I can hang a few things in the garage but not enough space for a full load.

Tami, you could start a war and put up a clothes line anyway! Tell them all you are worried about global warming... Or you could just tell them your dryer is broken and if they don't want you to hang your clothes out then can you use theirs?

I know I know, you need money to fight those wars too - ridiculous!

Suzy, unfortunately I live in a development with a homeowners association and I would be fined if I put one up. I have very little yard space as is it. With Florida weather, even if I put one up, my clothes would not dry, it rains a lot.
