Good morning - just grabbing a few minutes while the girls are engrossed in a TV show - it won't last!
Suzy - is it not allowed in your new relationship (?) with Ebob to phone her and check that she wasn't working when the robbery happened?
Heidi - enjoy the equestrian games - you deserve a bit of leisure time!

I like this one about a habitable planet - it is in the Goldilocks zone and is habitable at the terminator...

Cyn, I'm sure she wouldn't mind, but it blurs the line between cake and eating it too so we try to avoid contact as much as possible. Hubby has already sent her a text about coming over tonight and has not heard back from her.

Oh, and I found out from facebook the name of the worker who was robbed - if you know what I mean. The one they confronted.

Yes, Suzy - I understand! It is a blurred line though isn't it? I suppose your first thought was to find her and check she was OK.
Big hugs as usual!

Suzy, the bus was not late because of the rain, but that did not help. At 20 minutes late I called the terminal and was told the bus broke down and a substitute was enroute. Was told about 10 minutes away. 25 minutes later I called the terminal back and got the same guy. Told him I was told 10 minutes 30 minutes ago. He checks with driver and was told bus was at stop. I was at stop and did not see bus. He checked again with driver and said where bus was. It was also a substitute driver. She was 2 blocks away. I told dispatcher to have her stay there I would bring Mitchell to bus. It was a half size bus. When Mitchell got home he told us that he was the only passenger. After him the bus went straight to school.

It was. Almost let him stay home because of the weather but if he misses a day it is a lot of work to make up. He takes all advanced classes and has two high school classes even though he is in middle school. His high school gpa is currently a 4.5 He would like to go to an Ivy League school.

That type of grade will pretty much ensure it, Tami. That's impressive. Does he have any particular school in mind? I know Princeton has a gorgeous campus. I used to live 20 minutes from it.

I just saw a City of Ottawa articulated bus pass by our place about 5 or 6 times. Very strange. It was empty each time. Our municipal elections are coming up in November and I know our current mayor would very much like to get Ottawa bus service here on a restricted basis. Many people in my town work in Ottawa, including hubby. Maybe they were doing a practice run or two? I wouldn't mind that at all as I would be able to see my sister in Ottawa more often.

TRUE STORY FROM... "THE HOUSTON HERALD NEWSPAPER" IN HOUSTON, TEXAS
MARCH 5th, 2009
Last Thursday Night Around Midnight, A Woman From Houston, Texas Was Arrested, Jailed, And Charged With Manslaughter For Shooting A Man 6 Times In The Back As He Was Running Away With Her Purse.
The Following Monday Morning, The Woman Was Called In Front Of The Arraignment Judge, Sworn In, And Asked To Explain Her Actions.
The Woman Replied, "I Was Standing At The Corner Bus Stop For About 15 Minutes, Waiting For The Bus To Take Me Home After Work. I Am A Waitress At A Local Cafe... I Was There Alone, So I Had My Right Hand On My Pistol, That Was In My Purse, That Was Hung Over My Left Shoulder. All Of A Sudden I Was Being Spun Around Hard To My Left. As I Caught My Balance, I Saw A Man Running Away From Me With My Purse. I Looked Down At My Right Hand And I Saw That My Fingers Were Wrapped Tightly Around My Pistol. The Next Thing I Remember Is Saying Out Loud, "No Way Punk! Your Not Stealing My Pay Check And Tips." I Raised My Right Hand, Pointed My Pistol At The Man Running Away From Me With My Purse
And Squeezed The Trigger Of My Pistol 6 Times!
When Asked By The Arraignment Judge, "Why Did You Shoot The Man 6 Times?
The Woman Replied Under Oath, "Because, When I Pulled The Trigger Of My Pistol The 7th Time,
It Only Went Click."
The Woman Was Acquitted Of All Charges. And She Was Back At Work, At The Cafe, The Next Day!

Checking in without reading, too tired to try. Yesterday an appointment that should hve been fst and easy turned long and difficult. We were worn out by time we got home. today has been a recovery day here. I had a lovely 3 hour nap!

Lovely fall weather, I need a jacket or sweater in the morning. AC is off and windows are opened, skies are that incredible fall blue with puffy white clouds, I am loving it.

hope to get back on schedule tomorrow, Till then, hugs and extras.

There was a Scottish painter named Smokey MacGregor who was very interested in making a penny where he could, so he often thinned down his paint to make it go a wee bit further.
As it happened, he got away with this for some time, but eventually the Baptist Church decided to do a big restoration job on the outside of one of their biggest buildings.
Smokey put in a bid, and, because his price was so low, he got the job. So he set about erecting the scaffolding and setting up the planks, and buying the paint and, yes, I am sorry to say, thinning it down with turpentine.
Well, Smokey was up on the scaffolding, painting away, the job nearly completed, when suddenly there was a horrendous clap of thunder, the sky opened, and the rain poured down washing the thinned paint from all over the church and knocking Smokey clear off the scaffold to land on the lawn among the gravestones, surrounded by telltale puddles of the thinned and useless paint.

Smokey was no fool. He knew this was a judgment from the Almighty, so he got down on his knees and cried:
"Oh, God, Oh God, forgive me; what should I do?"
And from the thunder, a mighty voice spoke..
(you're going to love this)

"Repaint! Repaint! And thin no more!"

Last night, my friend and I were sitting in the living room and I said to her,
"I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and fluids from a bottle. If that ever happens, just pull the plug."

She got up, unplugged the Computer, and threw out my wine.

She's such a bi*ch.....

Good Evening, Sudoku Friends!

I forgot to comment last night: how many people noticed when Heidi announced that IH is blond? I hope you have fun at the World Equestrian Games! I hope you get to see William Shatner!

Hi, Suzy, Broni, Bean, Brenda, June, Gail, Theresa, CynB, Heidi, Tami, Rolanda, MizTricia, and anyone I have missed!

Suzy, I hope your nap of yesterday helped knock out the virus!

Broni, thank you for being able to read what I was thinking, instead of what I typed! I agree, we often tend to be on the same wavelength here and "fill in the blanks," so to speak.

Bean, don't worry about reading. Just start reading at the end and eventually anything of importance will be mentioned again. Feel free to ask for updates if necessary! Hopefully things are beginning to settle down somewhat!

Brenda, you should definitely have kept the money you found, if for no other reason than that you earned it by cleaning his room!

June, 20 people for dinner? I'm so glad you were able to find somewhere that could accommodate! You're right, though, now that you are onboard the ship, you no longer need to worry!

Suzy, I hope all goes well with Ebob staying overnight! Hope she doesn't overreact to the changes in "her" room! Keep calm, breathe deeply, repeat after me, "Om-m-m." {{{{{HUGS}}}}} I'm so glad that Ebob was unlikely to be working at the time when the robbery took place!

June, have a fabulous cruise! Enjoy every minute of every day! You certainly deserve it! We'll miss you and can't wait for pictures and a review of the trip!

CynB, have fun with Hayley and Em! We'll miss you! I hope they don't tire you out too much!

Good luck with your job hunt, Theresa! Keeping fingers crossed and sending positive vibes! So glad you had a sighting of the sun, if only brief! Maybe tomorrow . . .

Tami, I can't imagine having to deal with a school bus that is as unpredictable as Mitchell's! Does it stop at your house, or does he meet it at a centralized location? It would be awful if he needs to stand outside in all kinds of weather - and darkness as the year progresses. Do you expect service to get better soon? It complicates things for you! BTW, you are understandably tired!

Rolanda, it's too bad the rain that keeps bothering Theresa can't be sent your way!

Suzy, I am hoping that some sort of "normal" communication system will soon develop for you and your family! It must be so awkward to feel that you can't call and must wait for her to respond to your hubby's email. If she were just a member of the team needing to share a ride, the communication would be easier.

Theresa, interesting story about the waitress at the bus stop!

Tami, a bus break-down and a substitute driver certainly complicated Mitchell's going to school. Unfortunately, it was quite an inconvenience to him and to you. I hope the bus company will soon get the problems worked out!

MizT, so sorry yesterday's appointm

MizT, I'm so sorry yesterday's appointment was such a fiasco! I'm glad today is a beautiful-weather day and you got a nap! Good Night, MizT!

Theresa, I'm so sorry you're having trouble getting to sleep. On the other hand, I'm enjoying your jokes! After providing a laugh for the night, I think it is only fair for sleep to soon be upon you! Sweet dreams, Theresa!

Since midnight is approaching here, I'm guessing that it will soon be time for Heidi to feed the dogs and call it a night.

Suzy, thanks for the link about the habitable planet in a nearby solar system. There MUST be other life-forms out there.

It's midnight, and I should be getting ready for bed. Hope to see you all tomorrow! Sending enough {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive vibes, prayers and for everyone! Good Night!

Yes Julie, I noticed that Heidi said IH was blond. Maybe that explains a lot, but as I said, I was born blond so maybe I shouldn't comment at all.

I also think there must be other planets out there with life on them.

Can't sleep, it's almost 2:00 AM. I just threw a load of yrdnual in and I think I'll try again.

Afternoon all,
Julie, don't they use funny terminology? I loved that they found a planet but it was too hot, then they found another one that was too cold, and then they found this one (in the Goldilocks zone) that was juuuust right. Well, at least at the Terminator - which'll be back I'm sure...

You have to admit that if Gil is blonde then it explains a lot. Ally is often called choctop (chocolate coated icecream that you buy at the movies) and violet crumble (chocolate coated honey comb). I tell her it's in her genes...

Theresa, I hope you are successful this time! I have been loving the jokes, but I'm willing to wait until your daylight hours to get them...

MizT, I hope it wasn't bureaucracy that made your appointment long and difficult. Actually, maybe I do considering the alternatives? Sigh, just because I changed my name back doesn't mean I don't still have scrambled eggs for brains.

Brenda, I agree with Julie. You earned that money. Ally has told me off 3 times for trying to help in her room over the last couple of days. I told her that she won't be able to stop me tomorrow! She's in there now but I know she won't be able to work it out. That's why I want to get it organised so she can start anew.

Okay, first hurdle. I collected change for Ally for the 'fines' sessions and asked Ebob if she had any. No. So I handed her some silver. Thanks, um, I was just going to use my money and get some change or something. Okay, if that's what you'd prefer to do I say and scoop the change back. No big deal.
