Back up again, I had a bad night which is why I was posting a couple of hours ago. Now sitting waiting for a new car to be delivered. I have no idea what time it will arrive. I am without transport until it does as the insurance on the Lexus has been cancelled/transferred to the new car.

Good morning all. It is supposed to cool off today but so far it does not feel like it.
Tricia, great news about Al. I hope that the tumor is shrinking. I am not sure if I am going to buy crocs, just going to look if I have a chance.

Still waiting, also just realised that my gardener is coming soon, so I need to go check that the lawn is clear of little parcels my dogs leave behind

Suzy it still hasn't been delivered, so getting a little angry right now. It was really expected on Monday, it is a Citroen C1. A small car compared to our other two, it is for the business as Richard is traveling 70 miles a day and that was costing us around £100 a week in petrol.

Nice looking car Brenda! We have 2 very small cars. A Hyundai Getz, new, and a 5 year old Mazda 2. They're great for running around town, not so great when you want to go away on holidays... We probably should have got one a bit bigger and one small

It arrived minutes after I posted that it hadn't arrived.
We don't do small cars normally. We have a Lexus GS300 sport and a Volvo V70 estate. this new one is going to be economical to run and is a lease car we will hand it back in 2 years time

morning friends, boy did I sleep well and long last night. Still cannot shake the sleep from my eyes. Coffee in hand.
need to shower and cook my breakfast, I have forgotten how to cook, had so many nice meals delivered to AL at hospital, which I ate. Best not depend on that today, what with his appetite returning!
Brenda, new car sounds so nice, hope hubby enjoys it and it saves you tons on 0petrol.
Ahh, shucks, Tammi, thought you were a crocs girl too.
Today I have to turn off and drain water to the dome, it has a tendency to freeze and can be expensive to repair. I hope I can figure it all out and then psycally turn it. Hubby cn tighten things really tight.
Hugs to all, and thanks for all the good wishes and hugs. Leaving hugs with extras for all.

It rained again last night.
We'd been going through a nasty drought, and as soon as we try to do this job, the rains start. So nobody is working here today. Next week will be better anyway. Warmer and drier.

Morning all,
Great sleep last night. I saw a tiny bit of sun for a minute of two this morning too. Nice! It's hard to tell what is going to happen today though - depends on whether you look north or south...
MizT, hope you were able to get the taps open and closed. It seems early in the year to have to worry about freezing water! Either that or the year is going too quickly.
Heidi, so when you need to break another drought, take on another building project... your neighbours will thank you.

Well, I'm seeing sun out my window at the moment, so maybe it will be a nice day? Got a long drive ahead of us, so I hope so.
Hope everyone has a great day.
MizT - so glad to hear that Al's appetite is returning! Sending love to you both. ♥

Hubby and I were up early today, we were expecting a delivery of a new mattress between 8-9, it came at 8.30, doesn't get more between than that!
Today he and I are going out to Ikea to pick up shelving for the pantry. Earlier this week our brand spanking new oven and microwave were delivered. Micro is up and running, but we need an electrician to properly install the oven. They are temporarily in the spot where the wall oven was, but when we remodel, they are both going under bench.
Looks like this kitchen remodel might actually happen...!

Brenda, glad the new car came today. I will have to look at the link.
Suzy, hubby drives a Mazda protege, a small 4-door car. I also drive a Mazda, an MPV minivan. We realized we needed something big enough for kids, sports equipment, grandparents, friends, and whatever else we may have to bring places with us.

I drive a Toyota Tundra (V8 pickup). It's a truck that thinks it's a sports car. It gave me a bit of a scare today, tho. I went into town for feed and meds. The truck started making an awful grinding, screeching noise, so I pulled into a nearby service station (I've used them before and like them). One of the 2 straps that holds up the gas tank had broken and wrapped around the drive shaft!!! Fortunately I got in before all H3LL broke loose. Sparks next to the gas tank are never a good idea. They were able to do a temporary fix that'll hold until Monday. Then I take the truck into Toyota. That strap had a lifetime warranty, so it'll be replaced free. But the owner of the service station had fun over the phone with the Toyota people. He told them that I ha been driving along and the gas tank fell off. He then told them that right behind me was a car belonging to a notorious lawyer (Based in Louisville, who advertises on TV that he'll sue anybody over anything) and that the lawyer hit my gas tank and totaled his car. (He went into detail over the damages.) He then told them that the lawyer was going to go to Toyota with me and give them a piece of his mind, as well as present them with a lawsuit. The poor guys at Toyota believed him, despite the fact that I was laughing my head off in the background. He finally put them out of their misery and told them he was joking.

We've got Emily for the night tonight! It's her mother's weekend to have her but she always finds excuses not to have her for the full 2 days. This time it's supposedly a wedding and her babysitter for the other 2 (boyfriend's mother) doesn't want to take Em in case she has a seizure! Andrew had made plans, as you do when you've got a break from parenting, so we took her - she's always welcome here. AND her seizures, the few she has had, take the form of staring into space like a daydream. Scary stuff! Pffftttt!

I had been meaning to tell you all that she (Em) is so much improved of late, she's growing and maturing and is less full-on - except for when her Mum is around. Yep, trying to get her attention, poor thing. She's 9 on the 15th of this month. And we love her to bits.

SUZY, you are right, it seems too early to have freezing weather. But we have the possibility of being below 0*C from 1 am to 8 am, and with a wind from the North. Al was worried about it, took my neighbor only 10 minutes to walk over and open the valves, gave Al peace of mind, so I got it done for him.
Broni, glad you mentioned a cuppa, I will make mine coffee and join you. forgot I mjut made half a pot.
GAIL, your kitchen remodel sounds nice, I do envy you the new oven, mine needed replacing years ago
Suzy, I saw about 5 minutes of sun this morning, while I hung out towels. I did not even check to see if they were wet or dry, it was beginning to rain when I left. Oh well, a second rinse hehehe
Heidi, good advise from Suz, on how to break a drought. If you sell your drought breaking services, you could pay for your construction hehe.
I have dibs on Gail's new oven, suzy on the mattress, who needs the micro???
TAMI, fake crocs are nothing like the real thing, the comfort is all in the material they are made of. Usually I go for the fake, the copy, but one pair of the crocs convinced me. If your feet hurt being on them at school, you should treat yourself, especially if they are on sale!!
HEIDI, that was some scare, glad you were close to help that you trust.

AL UPDATE:
He is eating good, I had to buy my lunch and dinner today and did so gladly.
Tonight doc came in with the results of the blood culture. It was what we did NOT want to hear, Staph A and penicillin resistant. He been getting penicillin type drug. They changed drugs again, giving the drug cocktail that is successful in curing staph. He will still be in hospital a while. last night they drew blood again for another blood culture, and this afternoon no sign of anything growing, that is very good. Please pray that it continues to come back no growth
falling asleep here, more typos than words, should tell me time for bed. Hugs to all with extras.

MizT, you are welcome to the oven - mine is fairly new, just a little too small. If we were cooking US size turkeys we'd be in trouble. My mattress on the other hand is past it's use by date. We'll grab your neighbour and my hubby - you and I can crash tackle Gail while they grab the goods!

Tami, we used to have a minivan for the same reason and needed the extra seats often. Then one day we noticed we weren't using them anymore and the petrol it used was just ridiculous. When the other car was written off we got finance for 2 cars instead of one and poor old un boop boop was history.
Cyn, my wish for Em is that she grows up knowing that she is loved and just fine the way she is, and learns to feel sorry for her mother who has to go through life missing out on what it feels like to be loving and loved.
MizT, if I was teaching I couldn't wear any kind of crocs - leather closed in shoes in school labs...

Sigh. Ally just asked me the date. Apparently one of the girls in her year, so either 13 or 14, has been missing since the 2nd and her mother posted on her wall asking if anyone had seen her. And I thought I had it bad. At least I know where mine is even if it isn't an ideal environment.

SUZY, yes, MRSA here too, but from another friend in OZ, she called it golden staph and thought everyone there did, apologies.
Intermission here, not sure what woke me, but I came to the computer, of course.
Somehow, today both kitties stayed in the house when I left. Screech was hid and asleep, I did not know she was inside till I had been home 30 minutes. It is cold out tonight, they wanted to be in house with the heat. both are asleep in my bedroom tonight, They have missed AL even more than me. They do not understand
Heidi, hope you get to make your trip, enjoy and be safe. Will you be going alone?
Ahhh, Suzy, you are so right about your daughter, much better than to be missing. Buy you still need a hug.

Before I get onto commenting about your posts, youz can all RACK OFF! Hubby and I deserve new as much as the next poor bugger! When I sat on the side of the bed today to draw up the saline, I nearly bounced up through the roof! It is much firmer than our old mattress so no saggy saggy here :)
The news about the shelves is not so good unfortunately...after driving to the city (an hour away from us) we loaded up the big trolley with all the shelves and bits and bobs only to find that the necessary brackets are not in stock, and wont be for 5 weeks! So hubby said we'd do the wider side of the pantry shelving instead of the narrow one we were going to do. We unloaded the trolley and reloaded with the wider shelves and bits and bobs, and when we got to pick the brackets...not in stock, and won't be for 2 weeks! You can imagine hubby's displeasure by this stage, so instead of unloading the trolley, we just left it there... :(
