Judy, if something goes wrong in the renos, we have only ourselves to blame, we are doing it all ourselves! We have designed it all and will be buying the units from Ikea (flat pack for those who don't know) and hubby is a whizz with a spanner! The only things we won't be doing are the plumbing, electrical and flooring, oh, and putting the window in!

Gail, I won't steal any of your new stuff, but if you want to buy me new stuff I won't object.

Gail, I was reading your post about the shelves and I thought "bet that's Ikea!" Rob practically starts foaming at the mouth at the mention of that name (but then, he's SO over-emotional!) Nowadays it takes bribery (and sedation?) just to get him in there ... but I still like their stuff ... It's just the actual GETTING it that's the problem - as you found out! ;)

Didn't go to Louisville. I had a sleepless night, and didn't fall asleep 'til nearly 8 am. I can't go tomorrow because we're sending the calves off to be fed out. I'll need to be here to gather them up and load them into the trailer (MUCH bigger than mine... it'll hold 15 to 20 calves at 500 to 600 lbs each.) Monday morning I have a dental appointment, then my appointment at Toyota to get the new gas tank strap. It looks like it'll be Tuesday at the earliest before I can go.

I just looked, and the nearest IKEA to me is 4 hours drive away. There aren't any in Kentucky.

Hi again.
Niece had the baby last night but I didn't find out until this morning. All good, healthy baby boy.
Yesterday I found a cat in my yard hiding under bushes with 5 kittens. She wasn't very friendly and took off. My neighbor has taken a previous litter to the RSPCA so did the same to this lot. This morning, she woke me crying for her babies and I felt so sorry for her.
Wish I could catch her so she doesn't keep breeding.

Nola, here the Humane Society will lend out traps (humane ones of course) to catch feral cats.

Time to fling food. The time changes tonight (2:00 AM), so from now on it will be dark by supper time. And just when I had gotten my sleeping patterns back on track, I get an extra hour so that I can wake up early again! At least it will be lighter earlier in the morning. TTFN.

Theresa, I think next door are going to look into a trap to catch her.The last litter was born in her yard. The mother cat was hissing at us before she ran away but the kittens came to us.
Anyway, I am going to get stuck into some weeding before it gets too hot.

Congratulations Aunty Nola! And your niece of course. I am betting that when labour started she was over the moon that it was finally going to be over, and a while later was thinking, you know what? A few more weeks would have been okay...

We don't have an IKEA anywhere near here. I will have to go and look at one when we are in Sydney so I know what you are talking about... I know the name of course, but I have no idea what they carry.

Poor Mummy cat. It's a shame she couldn't have been caught at the same time as the kittens so they could stay together until the babies were weaned. They would have been perfect bait in one of those humane traps...

Another exciting day of nothing planned for today. Ally will go to learn the new dance they have to Lady Gaga's Bad Romance. If they can pull it off it will be a lot of fun to watch..

Hi all. I started reading the posts an hour ago and then the phone rang. I have no idea what I have read. I do know the baby was born and Heidi does not live by IKEA.
Glad Al is doing better. Hugs and wishes going out to everyone.

Good morning all.
Emily is watching Wizard of Oz as I type - I have been reading the book to her whenever she stays the night and recorded the movie when I saw it was on recently.
I live about 15 mins from Ikea but my hubby is like Judy's, he practically has apoplexy at the thought of going there.
Nola - pleased the baby has been born and all is well!

IH will be back here within the next 2 hours. Tomorrow we load out the calves, then on Monday he should be flying to California.
He had a good time with his relatives at the memorial service. His uncle Mike was 92 and had severe alzheimers as well as other issues. The Mike they all knew had been gone for a while.
Robert's uncle's funeral is Monday. Robert is going to be one of the pall bearers.

IH still isn't home. He did say it might take a while because the heater in his truck isn't working, and he's been driving through snow, so he's stopping frequently to warm up. He isn't dressed for winter.

BTW.... while sitting at my pooter, I can hear some baby birds in the sunroom, but every time I step in there to see what species is making the baby noises, the sound stops. I don't know if it's f Finches or Budgies . I don't want to disturb the nest boxes to look.

We're just home from seeing the movie 'The Social Network' which we liked. But, I'm convinced that some of the audience just looked at the ads and said 'oh, it's about FB' and went along. It was way over their heads and they were noisy and obnoxious until one by one they left in disgust. That's the trouble with seeing movies at the weekend - the bogan factor!

Hi again.
Heidi....brrrrr,couldn't imagine driving without a heater when it is snowing.Actually,I couldn't imagine it snowing.
How can you not resist taking a peek at the baby birds! You are a good owner.
June, I have had a relaxing time also today.About 1 hr into weeding, Renae rang so I went for a bbq lunch at her place.
Cyn, Happy Grandparents Day,you are doing your bit for the grandies,June and Theresa included as you all seem to spend a lot of time helping them.
Renae greeted me with HGD and I had no idea it existed.

Thanks Nola - I knew it existed (GPD) but had no idea it was today. Although I had Emily overnight, no-one in my family seems to know. Ah, well, that's the way it goes.
I'm like you, I can't imagine it snowing, or living in it. Just what you're used to I guess, and we Queenslanders aren't used to it, are we??!!

Cyn, we certainly AREN'T used to it. While weeding it got very hot. When it is hot here, it is hard to imagine cold weather.
I must get a move on with some "C" shopping. The girls are fine as there is so much that is new to them. The boys are a different story. 7 & 8 yr old boys...well boys in general, I find hard.
This year we are only doing a secret santa for adults and I know what to get him.

Nola I am pleased your niece has finally had the baby.
I hope bean is enjoying her stay in Brisbane and got to meet up with some of you up there. This time last year we were all enjoying Vici's visit down under.
My daughter's have bought things at Ikea but I find the store just too confusing as you have to walk right through to get back out!
