Just off to bed but I see that neither Broni nor Bean has posted either - I have been soooo busy since I left them. We had a lovely long lunch today and took lots of photos which will eventually be uploaded.
Beanie - it was lovely to meet you finally,
Broni - it was nice to see you again and we must do that more often, maybe with the boys they can talk trucks!
Cheers all - 2 grandies staying tonight and tomorrow - Chloe as usual and Hayley is not well. I am exhausted now, how will I be this time tomorrow.

We had told Richard we were going out for a meal, he suspected that it may have been more than just us and the kids... but thought it might be a couple we go out with regularly too, so when the majority of our friends were there he was speachless and when we saw my brother from Canada well we were both speachless.

OOPS. Laid down for a short nap, and set my alarm clock to wake me up. I must have turned it off in my sleep. I missed the dental appointment. It was just a cleaning and check-up, so I rescheduled it.

All the framing for the patio and sidewalk is done (the patio is circular so it took a little work), tomorrow the gravel base is going in, and Wednesday they pour the concrete! The weather is cooperating this week.

I still haven't made it to the North American International Livestock Exhibition. It started last Saturday and runs 10 days. If I can't get up there tomorrow afternoon, I'll spend Wednesday morning there before picking IH up at 3 pm. The N.A.I.L.E. is 1/2 mile from the airport.

I just got back from my daughter's place and the girls seem to be in a good mood. Hope it keeps up because I have to go a little later and put them to bed. Their dad doesn't get home until 11:45 PM this week as he is on the later shift, and my daughter can't get up the stairs. Wish me luck!

Good luck with getting to the NAILE, Heidi.

Good luck with the grandies, Cyn. I feel your pain.

Wonder if any of you have noticed our Suzy has been awfully quiet for the last couple of days. She got in touch with me yesterday morning and said to say 'they have had a scare, but things are looking up now'. I will leave it up to her to explain, but please keep her in your thoughts.

Hi everyone!

Sending my best wishes for Al and MizT and Bean's brother.

I had a lovely weekend away at the beach once we got there. It took forever as the traffic was bumper to bumper trying to get onto the highway.
We had a lovely unit on the fifth floor overlooking the water. I think I could live there permanently. We just totally relaxed, had nanna naps and early nights. It was perfect until we had to come home.
We were too late to catch up with Bean but maybe next time.
Back at work now and life returns to its normal chaos.

pages I should read, not gonna happen tonight. sorry

Been staying up at hospital, weekend we had problems getting things that should have been done. was not leaving him there with no advocate. I know how to firmly but politely make his needs known.

They removed the port yeterday. I got to watch. Even as he was about to remove port, surgeon kept saying, do not think this is the promary source of the infection. changed his mind as he injected the numbing stuff, and yuck stuff came out of the port. Today they got back clean cultures, not growing greenies now, and he came off isolation, He can walk in hall now eheheh.

tired, time to put jammie in dryer and get to bed. They are doing a transesophageal cardial ultrasound. they are looking at valves to see if colonies of germs are there.

Hugs to all and I do hope to be over and dome with this soom and have him back at home, even if I do have to cook hehehe

Hugs to all.

Well done MizT. Every patient needs an advocate, plus there just aren't enough staff these days to do the minor stuff. I was happy to act as hubby's mouthpiece when he was so unwell, and have done it in the past for my sister when she contracted MRSA post surgery.

Jine, I understand about needing help to make a bed. When that happens, I feel my age.

Theresa, It seems someone stole a LOT of my afternoon daylight! NO way I can get home from visiting AL before dark, his doctor makes rounds at 6 pm. while I was away, someone came in and set all my clocks wrong I had to change them today.

SUZY, hugs to you and whatever it is, we are here for you. A burden shared is a burden lighter to carry.

GAIL, so sorry you had a scare. Hope everything goes smoothly now.

Suzy, he could not walk far, but just staying in same room with doors closed is hard for anyone.

On Monday am, Al ran a bit of fevor, his doctor was concerned about that. I do wondr if having NO IV and NO antibiotics for over 6 hours after removing the port might have a bit to do with it?? Or if removing the port dumed a number of germs out into his blood stream?

It was soo funny, when I went to see the charge nurse (charge nurse if over the floor nurses and the patients served by one nurse station are her responsibility that shift) for a discussion of his inadequate care. I asked if I could speak with her/ she asked, do we need to step into my office? Told her might be a good idea. She took me to the lovely huge lobby for that floor hehehe. Bright sunny comfy place to have our chat.

OK< must go, hugs to all, till next time.

BTW, that is a CARDIOgram Al will have today. Wish us really good luck, colonies of bacteria would not be a good thing.

Good morning all,

MizT, always thinking of you and Al ... hope he soon gets to come home and you can relax a bit (even if you have to cook). All that running around would be very exhausting.

Suzy, hugs.

The girls were in good moods last night when I put them to bed. I lay down with the oldest grandie until she fell asleep. I was watching her face as she fell asleep and while she was asleep, and I've come to the conclusion she's perfect. It's hard to describe, but I was just filled with awe watching her. One of life's little miracles. I'll have to remember that feeling the next time she's got "attitude".

Hubby has an appointment at the garage this morning. There is an indicator light coming on and we don't know what it means. He has gone through the manual and this indicator light just doesn't make sense. Hopefully it won't cost an arm and a leg, whatever it is.

Off to have my second cup of coffee and feed my furry friends, some of whom are staring at me as if to say, "Well, we're waiting!"

Hi everyone.
Tricia, glad Al is feeling a little better and hope he comes home soon. There is nothing better than sleeping in your own bed.
Theresa, glad the kiddies were in a good mood last night. They always look like angels when they are sleeping, it's when they are awake that you have to watch out for them. I do hope it is nothing major with the car.
Heidi, hope you get to N.A.I.L.E. soon.

The gravel arrived at 8 am. Once George gets here, I'll lock up the Collies and bring in loads of gravel with the tractor. It's MUCH easier that bringing it in manually with a wheelbarrow. Then I can take off for the N.A.I.L.E. for the rest of the day.
