I'm not peeking at the baby finches. I don't want to do anything to disturb the first time parents.

We've gotten all the gravel moved. I just need to water the horses and lock them up, then I can go to Louisville.

Could I please borrow your tractor Heidi? We tried using the ride-on with it's trailer yesterday to start moving the mulch we had delivered, but the belts are slipping so it was having a hard time up the slippery slopes. Back to the barrow for us!

Heidi, glad you got all the gravel moved. It seems amazing that at 10 months old the finches could be parents already.

I just got an update from MizT's sister about Al. I've been put on her mailing list with the request that I pass along the news......

They finished the procedure to look at Al's heart. Thank goodness there is NO INFECTION in his heart.

He is running fever again, and having trouble waking up. But Tricia says he's aware - did his deep breathing when told to & pushed the oxygen mask off when it was finished - so she thinks he's just sleeping, not still under the anesthesia.

Tami.... I am in shock that 10 month old finches have had babies of their own. That's why I'm leaving them completely alone. When they're ready to leave the nest I'll see what I have.
I lost Stumpy yesterday. That's the finch born with 3 out of 4 toes missing on one foot. I don't know what happened to cause it, but she broke her good leg. Completely. Nothing could be done.

I'm leaving for the Cattlemen's meeting in half an hour. At least I don't have to cook.

Thank you for the Al update Heidi, I did not know he had gone downhill again.

Well, time to fling food and then go over to my daughter's to help out. Then I have to put the girls to bed again tonight. Here's hoping for another good night.

Back for a little while before the grandies go to bed. Last night I almost fell asleep before the older one did. Have to go and do some ffuts before I head back over, so that when I get home I can pour myself into bed.

I have had palpitations all afternoon and I think it's because I broke down and ate a chocolate bar. It has calmed down for now, but what an uncomfortable feeling. Please don't tell me that I can't eat chocolate any more. I am woman and must have chocolate!

Chocolate is an essential to a woman! Cope with the palps!

I have a feeling someone else has this avatar but, too bad, I love it! It's for tomorrow of course.
I may be gone for the rest of the day. I have to go and wait for the Telstra man at my son's place - their timing is 'between 1pm and 6pm' so I could be there for the long haul. At 6pm we are supposed to be meeting friends for dinner (week night, eating early) so I hope I can co-ordinate that, I hope he gets there by 4pm ('as if' my inner cynic says!).

Same here Cyn, we are waiting for a delivery that we missed yesterday. They say to be home between 11am-2pm...we shall see...

No pepper on the food tonight. It was a boring meeting, though. A long winded speaker on understanding farm tax forms.

I've just been trying to catch up on the reading to see how Al is doing, but don't have my glasses so it isn't working.

My news is good now. I had a minor stoke. The symptoms seem to have resolved, to use the term they used in hospital, but the MRI I had yesterday showed some damage so it was a stroke and not a TIA as they thought at first. I'm lucky hubby was observant and insisted on taking me to emergency immediately. All is good now, though I have some changes to make.

WooHoo!! Suzy's back. That was a close shave, I'm so pleased your hubby got you to the ER asap. We missed you and worried about you.

Can you believe that Telstra were early and I had to hot-foot over there early in case they went away. All done now, did a bit of shopping, now can relax for a few hours before dinner.

Gail, Al has not gone downhill again, they are still just hunting for whatever is causing him to run a fever every afternoon. The blood cultures are clear the last 4 times. not growing anything, that is MAJOR good.

Nurse tonight shed some light on his sleeping all day, the newest antibiotic is most powerful and can cause tiredness. when Al is tired, he sleeps. All in all, he is improving. His doc even said he was looking better.

SUZY, glad you checked in. Don't you just love those unplanned trips to the ER? NOT I am happy it was mild, and hope you can make the requested changes. Even I who is here hit and miss lately missed you big time. Missed you as much as I have been missing my puter!

Hope they find the source of Al's infection. Lots of the chemo drugs and extras that go with them do make you very sleepy and sleep is often natures cure.
You take care of yourself Tricia. Thought prayers and hugs to all that need them. They do work.

Things sound good for Al, at least you know why he is sleeping so much MizT. Healing vibes still winging there way to him.

That's what they said June, among other things. They have referred me to counselling for the stress thing, and told me to not feel guilty if I spend time doing things that relax me.

It is lucky Don was home, because I didn't recognise the signs when it started and had just put myself back to bed because I didn't feel well. I had been trying to pick up a broom that nomnom had knocked over and couldn't work out why my hand wasn't doing what I was asking it to do... Later Ally asked me a question and said 'mum I can't understand what you are saying', Don came to talk to me and said 'you are slurring your words the left side of your face is all droopy', you're going to the ER - I of course, got changed first.

No wait though, if you show up with stroke symptomes you don't wait in line...

I'm glad I went back to read - I found Theresa's perfect granddaughter and Collie kisses - neither of those are things I'd want to miss!

It reminded me of something that happened in hospital. I was watching Xfactor, there really wasn't much choice and I knew that I had to do what the doctors said so I'd be there to watch Ally when it was her turn to be there. I was 100% convinced at the time that it would happen!
