IH is off to the plant, then up to northern Ohio for a memorial service for an uncle that passed away a few weeks ago. Robert is on his was to a hospital in Indiana to be with an uncle of his. The doctors don't think he'll last the night. And it's getting chilly here. We're expected to have freezes tonight and tomorrow night. So I think I need to find a funny movie to watch.

As IH was getting ready to leave, he came back in the house looking mad and started looking for the phone book. I asked him why. He said that his truck wouldn't start. I told him to go back outside and put it in park, then try to start it. He looked at me like I had no idea what I was talking about, so I walked outside with him, juggled the shift lever and told him to start it. It started immediately. He never learns.

Heidi, thanks for sharing that story. I needed a laugh. There is an empty store not far from me. Today I noticed a sign in it that said "crocs warehouse sale." I may have to check it out over the weekend. It is only a few days.

My first husband was such a John Wayne fan that he wanted to call our firstborn 'John Wayne' - I pointed out that his own name was John and it would be confusing, so he said 'Wayne John'. 'Over my dead body' was the reply. the result is Andrew John - not after his father but after John Wayne. (I kid you not!)

Checking in again without reading. I sure do wish I could catch up. Perhaps I can find a Julie summary post, but she is busy this week if I remember.

AL REPORT:

He received 21 cards today, from our family and internet friends. The lady who brought them said she had never had anyone receove that many, and how did we know so many people in so many places , Thank you all so much for the cards, I will get names later, at the moment Al has the cards on shelves in his room..

He was moved to a regular room today, no more attached to telemetry. He has oxygen and IV's only now, so he can get out of bed easier, far fewer wores attached to him.

Doc said his blood cultures were positive, so he had a systemic infection. doc said, he was a really sick fellow for a while I knew he was very v erysick just by looking at him. They are also doing a stool culture, think there may be infection there also. His temp is not high, he feels better, tires easily, potassium is very low. He is eating a few bites of solid foods, liquids are a bother, they started feeding tube supplements to see if he could tolerate them, get his nutrition going. He can talk better too for some reason, and he says he thinks the tumor has shrunk, it seems a lot smaller. I pray he is right, would be worth what he has been through if that chemo kicked the cancer as much as it did AL.

Please Continue your thoughts, vibes and prayers, fairy dust (that is from another board, but I like it) good wishes, perhaps we can kick this thing.

Hugs to all, getting sleepy here, I was late coming home since I stayed to see him to his new room, pack up and unpack his things for him, how did we accumulate so much in 3 days??

That sounds like good news MizT. I guess they will have to re assess his next dose of Chemo.
On Monday night on one of the tonight shows they will be showing someone we know who has been taking the trial drug for a Melanoma and it has been successful. (She lives across the road from Sharon and her husband played baseball with our son). it just goes to show there are always new drugs being developed to fight this dreadful disease.

June, was that the one I read about for secondary cancers after melanoma? It sounds fantastic if it is!

Rolanda, I was going to share the link with you when I read the story, but one of the things I have read about how to be supportive for people who are dealing with these things is to NOT post info about the latest treatments and advances. Wonder if I could find it again.
