Julie so sorry you have lost Max, at least she had her last night been shown just how much you cared for her. ((HUGS))

Picking up from page 444 where I left of last night, but first I'd like to thank everyone for the wonderful Thanksgiving wishes! There is much to be thankful, not the least of which is all you wonderful Sudokuaholics!

A huge thank you and {{{HUGS}}} for all of the Birthday wishes! Thank you, Theresa, June, Heidi, Rolanda, Brenda, Tami, MizT, Suzy, Gail, CynB and Nola!

Theresa, you gave a very good reason for doing yrdnual at that early hour. Congratulations on fixing the "thingy" by yourself! BTW, your basement sounds like the basement of the house I grew up in. My parents lived there for over 50 years, and my uncle owned it before they did.

Suzy, is the man to Ebob's right (our left, as we look at the photo) Mr. Suzy? I enlarged the page as much as possible, but it was still difficult to make out features. Wow, Pride sure has a lot of rehearsals and gigs! Luckily the holidays are during the summer there. All of that singing outdoors in our cold would be most difficult and uncomfortable. Remember to pace yourself; you are still recovering!

Brenda, what wonderful news for your hubby. He must have a great resume and very marketable skills and knowledge to be hired so quickly! On a different subject, how long is your snow likely to last? I hope the temperatures will moderate soon!

Heidi, I hope the temperatures in your neck of the woods will also moderate and you'll be rid of the snow soon! A dog with tonsilitis is news to me; hope he's feeling much better now! Did you give him Popsicles or ice cubes?

MizT, thanks for the heart-warming story about your neighbor! What a wonderful thing to do - and good training for the grandson, who obviously has already learned about helping your neighbors!

Suzy, that was a great poem; thanks for sharing! Still on page 444, so I don't know how dinner with Ebob went, but crossing my fingers that it was enjoyable!

Gail, what a wonderful thing Mikayla's parents, family and friends are doing. If Mikayla is worried that she won't be remembered, maybe someone could write a little children's story about her and share it with her. It wouldn't have to be published, just neatly written and maybe some photographs of her in it.

For Julie and Max

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Brenda - do you watch 'I'm a Celebrity'?
I know it's on at the moment because it updates on my FB page every day but we won't see it here in Australia until early next year - I wish we could watch it simultaneously.

Julie, I'm so sorry about Max. It is so hard to lose a pet who is more like a child than an animal. {{{{{HUgs}}}}}

Julie, I am sorry about Max. I am sure that KitKat and Rachel were waiting for her and will keep her company. Our pets must be friends if we are. I hope it helps to know that you were with her until the end and that you gave her a wonderful life. That is what has helped me with Rachel. She was a Hurricane Katrina orphan that we adopted.

MizT, every time I read the Rainbow Bridge I shed a tear. Each time one of my furry friends passes that story makes me feel better. I will have a lot of furry friends to greet me when the time comes.

Many many Canadian geese were heading south today. I asked them to stop by and greet my American friends on their way. It's OK to look up at them and wave because I believe they are the only bird that doesn't do it's business while flying.

Hubby will be home in about an hour. I've been dancing to the oldies on the radio while doing the dishes - not something I do when anyone else is around. (And not something anyone else wants to see either.) When he gets home he'll turn on the TV and I'll have to turn the music off.

Heidi, does IH fix himself something to eat or do you have to fix it for him?

He opens the refrigerator door, stands there, and loudly whines that there's nothing to eat. He keeps it up, kinda like the chinese water torture, until I fix him something.

I had work I wanted to do today which involved printing things. Before I did that, I just thought I'd print up a lovely picture I had of my 5 grandies to put in a photo frame for Xmas for my ex MIL/FIL (their great-grandparents). Guess what? I now have a sheet of photographic paper stuck in the printer. Will have to wait till Col gets home, I can't shift it! Grrrrrrrr!!

Reading page 446, so I'm almost caught up.

Thank you for all the get well wishes for our kitty. They were very thoughtful. It just wasn't meant to be.

Cyn, what a shame that you won't be putting up the Christmas lights this year! I'm sure they'll be missed, but what a lot of work (and electricity) they require! Your comment about cleaning your keyboard prompted a good look at this one. Yuck! (What did you use to clean yours?)

Suzy, it's too bad the council decided to ban the lights and festivities in your area! Amazing that a family provided all that and used it as a fundraiser!

On a different topic, the magazine section of our Sunday newspaper had about 3 pages of information about the teen-age brain. Yes, scientific studies conclude they DO work differently! Here's a link:
http://www.parade.com/news/2010/11/28-inside-the-teenage-brain.html

Rolanda, I hope the family C gathering went well. No wonder you were making so many quiches!

Suzy, I'm so glad there was no button-pushing at dinner with Ebob! One day she will realize what she has done. Be sure to read the article about teen-age brains! At least she has a roof over her head and food in her stomach. Hopefully she will return to school on a regular basis! Others have said it much better!

Nola, I'm sure Greg is home by now! I hope the twins are feeling better and your D was able to get a nap without worrying about a clean house.

Cyn, your Community Christmas Party sounds fun!

June, I hope you enjoyed your lunch at Darling Harbour!

Theresa, I hope you enjoyed a quiet afternoon at home!

Heidi, the reasoning is questionable, but at least IH lifted a shovel! I guess that's cause for celebration! It's nice that you'll have another couple of quiet days! Hopefully he will be back by Wednesday!

Tami, I hope you got all of the papers graded!

Suzy, since you didn't get to hear Pride this time, I'm glad there will be another opportunity in January!

I need to check out Cyn's link.

Thanks to such wonderful friends for the comments about Max. We buried her beside the pole that holds our bird feeders. She was not an outside cat but loved sitting by the open door, watching the birds at the feeders and sniffing the fresh air. She'll be missed, but went peacefully.

Gotta go fling some food! Hope to be back later.

Positive thoughts, prayers and {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for all!

I am so very sorry to hear Max has crossed the bridge, but glad she was with you, however hard that was for you.

When you think of the number of furry children we have lost between us all in these last couple of years, I am imagining the cacophony on the other side when we get there!

Sorry to hear about Leslie Nielsen - I loved his movies.

Just got back from my daughter's place. The oldest grandie had banged her head on the underside of the table on a metal bar and had a 2 inch gash. I got a call just before 9:00 and I went over and looked after the youngest one. They got home about 15 minutes ago - the doctor in emergency "glued" it shut. She will have to keep the area dry for at least 24 hours, and she will probably have a headache tomorrow. Needless to say, they are keeping her home from school.

I just had the chance to watch/hear Janey Cutler! She is amazing! Thanks for the link, Cyn!

Hi, Brenda, CynB, MizTricia, Suzy, Tami, Theresa, Heidi, Gail and Broni!

MizT, thanks for the Rainbow Bridge. I cry each time I read it, no matter whose pet we're remembering. Unfortunately, it seems to get posted rather frequently here. As has already been said, I'm sure our pets are friends, just as we are. Can you imagine the reunion some day (long in the future)? As Gail said, what a cacaphony!

Heidi, fixing IH dinner is a small price to pay for 24 hours of quiet sanity!

Theresa, it sounds like you had a good day with a nap and dancing to the oldies!

Cyn, I hope Col was/is able to get the photo paper in the printer to continue through so you can do the other printing you wanted to do!

Broni, seems like you had a busy (hopefully fun) weekend!

RIP Leslie Nielsen!

Thanks again for your support. We're going to give our other cat some extra love and attention. (The vet said to watch her carefully the next few days, as cats grieve. Max died of heart failure, so there's no concern about viral or bacterial problems.)

We have commitments all afternoon and another in the evening tomorrow, so I'm hoping we will get some sleep tonight. I hope to "see" everyone tomorrow! Good Night! Lots of positive thoughts, prayers and {{{{HUGS}}}} to all of you wonderful people!

Hi Vicki!
Theresa - sorry about your grandie's sore head.
Julie - I used methylated spirits. I think that's what you should use - it evaporates almost instantly.
RIP Leslie Nielsen - only have to think about The Naked Gun to remember him and smile!
Col's not home yet to fix the printer. It's annoying because from about 4.30pm, I'll have Chloe for 24 hours and it's not easy to get things done with her under my feet. Oh, well. C'est la vie!

Theresa, I will join you in going to bed. It is only 10:45 here, different time zones, but I am sleepy and bed seems like a good thing. Today was a fibro flare from h3ll, I changed pain meds cause the old one was not working, and I slept most of the day. Knocked the pain down to a dull roar.

Al had to fend for himself for both breakfast and lunch. Unlike Gil, he is capable of finding food in the fridge, thankfully. But I have to shop for it, cook it and put it in there for him to find, oh bother.

See you all tomorrow, hugs with extras.

Theresa, Kids............ need I say any more.

I have one particulary accident prone son - broken leg and he broke the same wrist in the space of 6 months. Numerous stitches - including a couple just this year. He still can't walk up the stairs without tripping. Yes, he is my ADHD son.

Heidi, Please cover your eyes and ears because I know you love collies.

My neighbours collie Jack is the most stupid creature that I've ever met. He has lived beside us for 2 years and still barks at us every time we walk down our driveway. We've tried every bit of bribery to make him friendlier but nothing works.

Anyway, he has been escaping and since they have landscapers working next door they asked if he could stay in our yard during the day. I think Reggie thought he was going to have fun playing with Jack. No way! Jack kept walking away from him and barked at any of us if we went into the back yard.

He has never been socialised at all. I know that is his owners fault. He is a beautiful looking dog but certainly not the Lassie we see on tv. He is so stand offish that we totally ignore him now which is really a shame as we have always loved any of our neighbours dogs.
