Funny story- I sent hubby an email with the funky undie link. He was trying to send it to a coworker and accidentally sent it to someone at NSW Health. The guy apparently thought he'd done something to upset hubby.

Home and had my nap. we do not know anything about the CAT scan results now, hubby did not know when we might know.

I need more pain meds, then some dinner. I think Mac and cheese, the really good kind, will be the mainstay of dinner tonight. Do not feel like cooking, hubby drank his lunch Ensure, then had his sandwich when we got home almost 4 pm. He says he is not hungry.

Hugs to all and many thanks for the good wishes and thoughts about the CAT scan. He does have an appointment for Monday Dec 6 for round 2 of the chemo.

OOOPS, forgot to post this when I wrote it, so it is now bedtime here. Only problem is, weather. A line of severe t storms should hit Alabama in a couple of hours, and the temp is going UP tonight instead of down, unusual.

Hugs with extras till later.

We're having bouts of pouring rain here, too, MizT, but thankfully no thunder and lightning. Yet.

Off to bed. 'Night, all.

MixT, I hope you don't have to go out to the dome tonight. Will be thinking of you. If I'm impatient to hear the results of the cat scan I can't imagine how you feel!!

I forgot to mention, Ally has gone vegetarian again. She tried for vegan and we put our foot down, she blew it herself anyway, served herself up some cereal with milk.

Greetings & Salutations! It has been a long day, including a drive into the center of Chicago for a year check-up with the orthopedist who did my knee replacements. He feels things are looking great and working as they're supposed to, and said to see him in 2 years. We barely got home, grabbed a quick bite to eat, then went to a meeting that lasted about 3 hours.

Hi, Vicky, Theresa, CynB, MizTricia and Suzy (page 447)

Vicki, thank you for the Thanksgiving and birthday wishes and for your condolences about Maxie-KittyCat!

Cyn, thanks for letting me know what you used to clean the keyboard. Mr. Google informs me that methylated spirits is the same as denatured alcohol.

MizT, I hope you are better after the fibro flare-up! I seem to recall that lack of sleep and stress can contribute. How fortunate that he can fend for himself, but too bad that it doesn't include preparing the food.

Vicki, I think you have analyzed Jack Collie's problem; it's his owners. What a shame! Vicki, perhaps your son's ADHD problems will improve as he gets older and he will be less accident-prone.

Theresa, I hope your grandie is feeling better today!

Suzy, that's an amazing paycheck for 1 day! It's too bad the required work on your hubby's shoulder used up most of it!

t's much later than I thought. I need to get some sleep. Positive thoughts, prayers and {{{{HUGS}}}} to everyone! Good Night!

Morning all - coffee is ready.

Last night I went over to get the girls ready for bed. The oldest grandie can't sleep unless someone is upstairs with her (her dad is on the later shift and doesn't get home until midnight). So I stay with her until she falls asleep. She couldn't sleep and I didn't get home until almost midnight. Hmmmm, a nap might be in order today.

Julie, you commented on the other site (FB) that you liked my score on Staries I believe. My daughter and I try and top each other's scores on games, so when we beat the other we post it. So that is my daughter and her profile pic is the grandies a year or two ago. She is much better at the games than I am, so I'm pretty darn proud of myself if I beat her. But then of course she has to try and try until she beats me. It's a running competition we have going.

Off to have coffee and feed the kitties. They are looking at me as if to say, "Helloooooo, we're waiting."

Theresa, the competition between you and your daughter sounds like fun. My boys love to have competitions on the wii. All three of them get in on the act. I play occasionally, and lose. The only game I stand a chance in is bowling.

Morning everyone else. I hope the day is a good one.I will be sitting at a desk in the hallway as the kids are testing today. Today is reading, tomorrow is math. Tomorrow I get to monitor 42 students when they take the math portion. The kids usually get nutty (nuttier) after testing so it should be a crazy week. I will be back later.

Hi there all.
MizT..hope all has gone well with Al's cat scan and you are feeling good too.
Suzy..poor Nomnom, give him lots of cuddles.
Julie..great to hear that all is going as planned after your knee replacements.Has all the pain gone now?
Tami..that 1st cup of coffee is so good.
I have had an interesting 2 days on prac.I helped a Dr glue up a young guys head laceration today, then bandage him up.He looked so funny when I had finished but he was happy. The section I am in is giving treatments to patients e.g.IV antibiotics and then they go home rather than take up a bed in hospital.Mostly I just observe and do vital signs but today holding the cut together while the Dr glued was a little thrill for me.
It is getting late,so I better get back to bed.
Have a good day/night everyone.

Suzy, I think Ally would find it extremely difficult to go Vegan, it would mean she would have to read EVERY label on EVERY item of food she wanted to eat. A friend of my daughters is vegan, and he didn't use to cook for himself either. When they used to go out for a meal it was normally to the same Italian place and he could only eat one item on the menu.... boring.

Well, my nap was interrupted by someone taking their dog (a beagle) to the store across the street and leaving him tied up outside barking and howling non-stop. That got my daughter's dog barking next door, and the two dogs on the other side of us barking, one of which is a Bernese Mountain dog. When he barks, not only their house shakes but so does ours. At least four dogs barking non-stop for 10-15 minutes and I had to get up. In the meantime my daughter struggled to get her shoes on (she can't bend over) and went outside to make sure the beagle was OK. I wish people would leave their dogs at home when they go shopping!!!!

Heidi, I think this site makes us all younger. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I'd think it was impossible to go truly vegan. How do you avoid things without eggs or milk? Or cheese? Or gelatin?

Heidi, I guess you'd be eating a lot of salads without salad dressing if you were vegan. Has anyone ever tried soy milk? I'm curious as to what it tastes like.

Suzy, the little "nip and tuck" operation for cats often makes them friendlier and cuddlier than ever. How will you handle that?

I want to change Sweetie's name. When I talk to the other cats I always tell them they are such sweeties. When I do that, Sweetie comes running thinking I'm talking to him. Any suggestions? He is a large orange tabby who thinks he is the alpha male, although both he and Splotch are aphas. I'm hoping that once Splotch has his little nip and tuck he will relinquish that position. If you come up with the winning name, you will win the satisfaction of knowing that my cat has the name you've chosen. I tried calling him Bruce (after the movie Bruce Almighty) because he thinks he is a god, but for some reason he doesn't like the name. His ears go back and he walks away???? Maybe someone in his life before us had the name Bruce and they were not a nice person???

What do you want to change Sweetie's name to? I have found, on the rare occasions when I've changed a name, that a transition works best. Start with "Sweetie", then add the new name afterwards. Slowly, as Sweetie gets used to both names, put more stress on the new name (maybe with treats) and speak the old name quietly. Gradually, only give pets and treats when she responds to the new name.

I don't have a name in mind, Heidi. I was hoping for suggestions. He is a sweetie, but he's also evil. If he jumps on my lap for pets, he decides when the pets are over. If I try to put him down I have to be careful because he swats my nose. If I keep petting him when he thinks it should be over, he bites my hand. Typical male, doesn't know what he wants or how to treat a woman!

Good Morning, survived the might, although our county had several tornado warnings. Each was south of us so we did not go to shelter in the dome. None of them touched down, so no damage or injury noted nearby. Just LOTS of rain, and then some more just to make sure.

Today is last day of antibiotics, yeah! I have done all the IV antibiotics I need for a long while. Nola, I would have let you help if you had been here. Easy enough, just remember to not let the ports on his PICC line touch anything after you have cleaned them, and do not let the tip of the luer lock syringe touch anything but the port. That and inject over 5 minutes, and make sure no bubbles in the syringe. You can do that, I am certain. Wish you were here to help do a sterile dressing change for the PICC line site. I could use a pair of good working hands.

I have never been able to change a pets name, they seem to know what they will answer to. Neither of my cats answer to their names if called, but both answer to Kitty Baby, cause that is how I call them in. Good luck on making the name change, I think Heidi's method is your best chance.

Sorry the dogs barking interupted your nap. Naps are important when there are late nights.

Suzy, why is Ally wanting to go vegetarian? It would certainly be difficult to make sure she hs the protein she needs. Only so much you can do with soy protein.

HEIDI, wishing you a really bad epidural this time. Will Gill be home, is he home today?

TAMI, hope you are enjoying sitting in the hall today. It is today, right?

Off to finish straightening pantry, I am blessed with more food than places to store it. Well, I am finding I can store it IF I remove all the almost empty items, and consolidate like items into one container. Example, I found 2 opened and half used boxed of instant potatoes, put them together, same for tea, and for cereal. Some items went into my collection of glass canisters, I have a LOT of those for pasta and beans and all manner of interesting things.

Hugs, thoughts and prayers to each that need them with extras.

MizT, glad the tornados didn't touch down or were not in your area. They must be scary. Yeah, last day for antibiotics!!! I really need to clean up my kitchen shelves as well.

Heidi, Sweetie is an orange tabby. So far none of the other cats much like him. In fact I heard a ruckus upstairs a short while ago. Sweetie was cornered in the hallway and all but one of my other cats was there making sure he stayed in the corner. I TRIED not to laugh.

I'm back from running a few errands.... in a downpour. A few more days of this, and the creek will be running again. This creek starts on our property, being fed by runoff from pastures and several small springs on our place. The summer was so dry that the springs dried up.

Morning all,
Great news MizT and Nola, the prac sounds like fun! And it is a shame you can't combine it with helping Tricia since there is overlap..

Heidi, the creek running again sounds like a good thing, am I right?

Theresa, Nemurr works for most cats, mostly because you sound like another cat when you say it, kind of high pitched and drawn out... we had an orange tabby called Nemurr.

Off to get the grandies from the school bus soon, and like Heidi's area, it's pouring! Keep those names coming, please. So far I like them all. Suzy, I tried Nemurr and three cats came running!!

The time of years for fires in you area. Fingers crossed for all.
