Maybe the cat could be called Julia after our red headed PM. Or perhaps Ron (Weasley). I'm trying to think of other red heads.
I also like Norman as a name. It sounds so cat like.

I never knew what it meant or where the term came from until quite recently! When I made mention of it, I got a withering look from my son...bless him...

Evening all,
Nomnom is home and well, he seems a little disoriented, is walking funny and is, of course, 2 stones lighter (That was for the Brits and Aussies)
First Carol's rehearsal as a big group tonight. It's raining so it couldn't be in the Park, but the church that is doing a half of the show this year, let us use the church. Great sound system, stage etc.
Ally has yet another sore throat and said it felt like she'd taken a deep breath of dust just before she sang... lots of these sore throats going around this year...

Julie we have been very lucky so far with the snow. We have only a light covering but other places around the country have many inches and even feet of the stuff. The roads are appalling and some of the airports are closed including Gatwick (international airport) which is due south of us. Temps are cold -4c at the moment.
Richard starts his new job today, I took him to the railway station at 7:40 this morning, not sure what time he will get back tonight he thinks about 7:15 so a long day.

Rolanda I will try and contact my niece to see how they are getting on, it's a bit scary knowing that there are fires close to them. We wouldn't have known about it if I wasn't on here or FB.

Good evening. It has been raining here all day too. I had Laura overnight and all today. I still have to clear up where she has put everything. It was her Physical culture party tonight. She was supposed to take defrosted chicken nuggets but I did not have any so we made pikelets instead. We stayed for the concert and award presentations (Laura just got the normal certificate/pin).
Dentist at 8.30am and hairdresser at 11am so tomorrow will be another busy day.

Good news from Brenda (your Niece). Hope Richard enjoys his new job.
Suzy my Dad did all our Tom cats and Belinda decided to do one we had (she did work for a Vet for many years) She got one side done and then the other about a month later! We used to call him "Arthur Half a Cat"
Theresa if you want to change Sweeties name using Heidi's method you have to pick something that sounds OK with Sweetie like "Sweetie Peter"

I just heard the fire has jumped containment lines, but if it is 10k away I'm sure Brenda's niece is still fine, that's a long way, especially if there are houses in between.

Morning all - COFFEEEEEEE
I can't imagine what it must be like to live in an area where fires in the spring/summer are so dangerous. Or earthquakes, tornados, hurricanes. We have had minor earthquakes and some tornados have touched down over the years, but they are rare. Life is stressful enough without Mother Nature taking a turn at whacking us.

Good morning everyone. Glad to hear that all seems to be going well.
Brenda, glad to hear that your niece is doing well and the fires did not affect her.
Suzy, glad that Nomnom is doing well. I am sure he will be back to his normal self in a few days.
Heidi, hope you have a really bad epidural and that you were able to get everything done.
Theresa, not sure about a name for Sweetie.
Don't remember what else I read. I will come back after my morning coffee.

The drive wasn't anywhere as bad as feared. There were only a few small patches of ice on the road, as well as light flurries coming down.

Good thoughts and hugs to all who need them (especially thinking of you Suzy).
Pouring rain here, day 2 of our heavy rainfall warning. I was supposed to go for my flu shot this morning, but the clinic called and asked if we could make it next Tuesday. That was fine with me as I didn't feel like walking in the rain.

Morning all,
Yesterday was wet, wet, wet here. Today we are supposed to have passing showers with thunderstorms tomorrow. Basically wet until next Tuesday..
Nomnom ran to remind me to put something in his food bowl this morning so he must be on the mend. Last night we kept finding him sitting in the middle of hallways looking lost. All better now.

June, I hope things are a bit quieter up your way.
Theresa, how many puddles would you have to walk through? On Tuesday night I drove a couple of kids (not mine) to St John's training and when I went to pick them up in the dark, stepped right into a 6" deep puddle - not fun!
Brenda, what does hubby think of the new job? Are your trains heated?
Theresa, I don't know anywhere in Australia immune from the threat of fires. They scare me more than earthquakes, and after being in the Northridge quake that's saying something...
Ally has been told she'll be in the One class for English next year. No news on her other subjects yet.

Suzy, the clinic is about a 10 block walk and it is all sidewalks pretty well. The problem is it's so damp that my hips and low back are aching (arthritis). Plus on the way there there's a long sloping hill for about three blocks. I've done this walk many times before, but not usually in pain.
When you stepped in the puddle did you have boots on? We have this huge puddle on the road right next to the house and if cars go through it fast enough, it will actually splash the side of the house!
Glad kitty is fine - they soon forget!

Theresa, 10 blocks is a long walk to go somewhere you usually go when you don't feel the best. I don't blame you for not wanting to do it in pain.
I had bare feet as I had taken off shoes I didn't want to get wet - my jeans were soaked though. It's supposed to be summer here!

Heidi - glad the epidural went well.
Suzy - happy the Nomnom is feeling better this morning.
Our rain must be widespread - if it's raining south of Sydney (Suzy) right up past Brissie to Bundaberg (Nola).

Greetings friends, we had rain yesterday too, must really be wide spread. today, just wind and sun and cold temps.
I took it kind of easy today, after doing the sterile dressing change for the picc line, flushing both lumens, and changing all of hubby's other dressings, giving his oral meds via tube. It takes a while! Not as much fibro pain today, just tired, so I gave in and mostly read a book. I made us some sou0 for dinner, with the last of the turkey that was in the fridge. Good soup too, enjoyed that.
My brain is a sieve, forgot all I have read, except Heidi had her epidural and it is raining in OZ, snowing at Teresa's.
I hope to do better commenting tomorrow, perhaps I will get my brain back then.
Hugs with extras.

Back to rain here, which has melted any snow that was on the ground. The forecast is calling for about 2 cm of snow and then 60% chance of snow tomorrow. ♫♫ Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but my dears you are delightful ...♫♫

It has cleared up here now, but from the minute Hannah and I left the city yesterday, it was coming down in torrents! I felt for my friends going to the concert last night, it was in a stadium that can have the roof closed, but because of the size of the stage they were only going to be able to close the roof a little! I got a message from them saying that they were there and all was cool, but their hair was atrocious because they had been caught in the rain earlier...charming!
