My sister just told me about something they did yesterday morning. They got up at 5 am to drive to a location where they could see the whooping cranes migration, the ones who fly behind ultra lites, training the captive raised chicks how to migrate. She said it was a site to see. I found the website about them, and discovered they ar on the ground all day in my county, it was too windy to fly.
http://www.operationmigration.org/Field_Journal.html
here is a link, scroll down till you see the photos from Walker County, that is the one my sister saw. she was part of the 25 to 30 people there. I am sure my BIL has photos, one of his hobbies is wildlife, especially bird, photography.

I just ordered my new fridge. It will be delivered on Friday. I just hope my old fridge doesn't kick the bucket before then. The fridge is working but is not as cold as it should be. Milk spoiled with a week to go on it's expiration date. I have an extra freezer in the garage and am making bigger ice blocks to keep in the fridge to help out for a few days. My mom will come over on Friday and wait for the delivery.

Conratulations Tami - a new fridge is a wonderful thing!! Murphy is too close to people on this site so I don't know that we can help protect you from him!
I have learned the hard way about coffee and keyboards, unfortunately my keyboard is a part of my laptop so I couldn't just buy a keyboard I had to buy a whole new computer!!

Friends!
Hi, Tami, Gail, Rolanda, Heidi, CynB, Suzy, Broni, MizTricia, June,
Thank you, Rolanda, for having Cyndi's email address! Thank you Gail, for checking in on her! There are a number of others who were once regulars that we've lost contact with. Thinking of all of our friends and wishing you well!
CynB and Suzy, it's too bad your hubbies had to work on Saturday! I hope they were able to rest on Sunday!
Broni, I hope your hubby heals quickly! Yikes, snapped muscles in his arm! What can he do to aid the healing process, besides rest?
MizT, hooray for solving the lighting problem on your C tree! I hope making the apple butter wasn't too tiring! Sounds yummy!
June, seems like you're doing well with some of your C presents already purchased and the C cake made! Good for you!
Gail, how nice that you and Mr. Gail had a C lunch with other clients & staff of the home haemo unit! Early in hubby's journey and into the first several years after transplant, the hospital transplant unit had an annual picnic in August, though it hasn't been done for at least 7 or 8 years. It was very helpful & reassuring to talk to others dealing with similar situations! We miss it and the people we met!
Tami, I hope your refrigerator hangs on for a few more weeks! Perhaps there will be after-Christmas sales or January sales. At least you have begun the research portion of a likely replacement.
Suzy, I hope Ally's throat is feeling better; don't want her to strain it with an additional rehearsal. Your hubby is leaving at 2 AM (?) to go fishing! Wow, what dedication, I guess!
Brenda, I'm glad your additional snow was washed away by rain!
Broni, sorry, I'd turn off your rain if I could, or at least give it a rest! I'm surprised you've never seen Anne of Green Gables before. Now that I think about it, I guess the reason I've seen it a few times was because one of the other moms brought it along to a multi-week summer music camp, and all the moms and daughters watched together.
MizT, how fun that your sister and BIL went to see the whooping cranes' migration flight!
Tami, my goodness, you're proactive. Very clever to order the new refrigerator now and not need to struggle without one! Congratulations, and I hope the old one lasts through Friday! Will you tell us about the features when you get the new one?
Suzy, I think I'll go visit your link, but first, Good Night to all! Sleep well!
Sending lots of
{{{{HUGS}}}}, positive thoughts and prayers to all!

Julie, during the part I watched Ally was singing softly, for her, and I've decided to get the plastic out to get her to the doctor sooner rather than later.
I hope you are getting some rest at some time in your busy schedule. Sleep well

Rain has finally stopped for a while but checking BOM looks like more coming in. Would have been going stir crazy if cous had not popped in unannounced, we had a good chat and think I have her back from the black lagoon she was wallowing in.

Broni, I just went and had coffee with a friend who has been incredibly supportive first during the stuff with Ebob and later when I had my stroke. She is going through stuff too and puts on a brave face, but is obviously stressed. Her divorce is going through because her in-laws are selling the propery they own jointly, which means property settlements etc, going through the divorce in her in-laws time rather than hers - they actually tried a sneaky thing and asked her not to do the property settlement until after the house was sold, which would have meant she ended up with an eighth of the value of the property rather than a quarter, plus she had to find a house to buy so she and her boys weren't homeless for a while. Then work decided to send her off on a training course next week, which is incredibly bad timing as her new house settles on Friday and the auction on this one is on Saturday...

Zusy, know exacery what you and your friend are going thru. After JD had his massive heart attack I had to deal with an ex after 13years that still thought she had a claim to our lives. Thought I would lose my home.

I read a story a few weeks ago about a man in Britain who had to give a chunk of a lotto win to an ex because the right words about for ever weren't in their original property settlement. Obviously the ex didn't win as you kept your home - thank goodness!!!

Hi everyone, been quite a long day, partly due to the heat and humidity.
The highlight of the day was the gathering of past and present Sudokuers for a delightful lunch (despite the heat) at Bianchet Winery. Food was lovely, good wine and great, nay, FANTASTIC company.
Today was our Chrissy get together, but it was also a celebration for Kate's birthday (yesterday). She got lots of goodies including a plant Liz gave her, that had us all wondering what it was. It turns out that it is a celosia, and a fine specimen at that.

Julie, the new fridge is a side-by-side with the ice and water in the door, replacing what I already had. The fun parts of the new fridge is digital controls, LED lights, and twin cooling systems. Fridge and freezer have separate cooling systems. It is also slightly bigger than the one I am replacing and is black so it won't show the dirt.
Suzy, cute link. It is even worse when that is the name you are born with. I had a customer many years ago whose name was Candy Caine. She was not married. That is the name her parents gave her.

Morning friends, waiting for the coffee to drip, hope it hurries somewhat cause I need it today. Just cannot shake myself fully wake today.
The first of the cold arrived overnight, currently 38F (3.33C) outside. I do hope tonight's forecast low moderates somewhat, I am not ready for low 20's.
AL asked me yesterday if I wanted to stay h9me Monday, he did not see the need for me waiting the 6 hours for his infusion. I am thinking about it. He was fine last time, but he is not as strong going in this time, 6 hours might tire him and he be glad for a driver going home. Decisions.
Finished my tree, and it is looking mighty fine. I had such good time remembering all the ornaments, who gave them to me, when I had made that one, how long I had had another.
I smell coffee, catch you all later!

I know it would be easier on you to stay home, MizT, but maybe you should accompany Al to the chemo. He shouldn't be driving home on his own. I know that from my epidurals. After some of them I'm steady enough to drive, but after some it would be impossible. He's been through the wringer lately, and may not hold up as well this time. Look at it this way... if you stay home and he can't handle the drive, you'll have a serious problem. If you go with him and he doesn't have a problem, you've only lost some time (but get to do some reading).

Everything is turning white outside again! It's only flurries, and hasn't much accumulation, but this is SO atypical for Kentucky.

In half an hour, I'm going out to feed hay to the cows. Then IH will be loading up a trailer full of sheep and goats, and taking off for the plant mid-afternoon. I will not help him load.... that could be devastating to my back.

Morning all,
My computer has been down since Thursday and my SIL just fixed it. He says it's probably a temporary fix and that we will soon need a new computer. That is not in our financial plan, so if it goes again I might be without for a fair bit of time. No time to read right now (I have a lot to get caught up on) - I am going to the outlaws for the afternoon and evening.

I put 8 rolls of hay out for the cows.
This is some of our poorest quality hay, 'cause we're saving the best for the time the cows start calving. We want freshly lactating moms to have the best nutrition. The stuff they're getting now isn't that bad... they eat it as fast as they can, and they get some supplements as well.

Heidi, I looked at the stainless models but they were a more expensive. I am still on a strict budget but can pay this out over 18 months, interest free. I am happy with the choice of black, even if my mom thinks I am nuts.

Hi all.
MizT..someone always had to pick Judy up after chemo or they wouldn't let her go.It's better to be on the safe side.
Tami..the new fridge sounds lovely.
Gail...glad you had some great food and company at the sudoku get together. Also at hubbys C party.Very therapeutic.
Broni...I am also getting tired of all this rain. When the sun came out for awhile yesterday, the humidity was awful.Still more forecast though.
Theresa..don't you miss the computer something shocking when it is down.Hopefully you were too busy to notice.
Suzy..how is Allys throat or are you still waiting for a Dr appoint? Hope you are feeling better each day.
Brenda..glad you have remained safe during the snow storms there. Our news said 60 people have died..so sad.Hope Hubby enjoys the new job.
Heidi...sounds like a wise decision not to load the animals.Take care not to slip in the snow as we know how accident prone you are.
June..wish I was as organised as you are for Christmas.
I had an enjoyable weekend with visiting and rest.
Renae has a brand new foster baby...so cute and the girls cannot believe they were once that small. It is lovely to see Renae soooo happy.
Last week of prac starts today. Catch you another day.

Nola, have a good week. Send my best to Renae. Being a foster parent is very special. My boys thought the same thing when their cousin was born. The only thing is, they were at least 3 pounds bigger than their cousin.
My family is coming over tonight to celebrate Chanukah. I have a chicken roasting in the oven and pork in the crock pot. The chicken is on a vertical roaster and looks funny "standing up" in the oven. The kitchen is starting to smell good.

Morning all,
Tami, I agree with your mother, black will show every mark! Other than that it sounds fantastic...
Theresa, how will we know you are okay if you can't get online. Does your daughter have a computer you can borrow?
MizT, I hope things went well regardless of what you and Al chose.
Nola, Renae is very brave, especially if the baby is cute. Saying goodbye when it's time to hand the baby over would be heartbreaking!
Good luck during your last week of prac. I hope you are learning lots and enjoying yourself!
It's only Monday morning here so Ally hasn't seen a doctor yet. I won't even be able to make an appointment for another couple of hours.
