Hi all.
Tricia, our house stays relatively warm. The schools I and my kids go to have heat, I think most of them do. It is definitely strange to have it this cold now. It can get this cold but not usually until Jan or Feb.
Cyn, I still have some of my old vinyl records. I think it was the vinyl version I used to play for my mom. I even still have a turntable.
Have to go pick up Mitchell in a few minutes.

Afternoon all, the good luck continues. I am broke until pay day tomorrow (again) but have Xmas dinner with friends and gift exchange tonight. By going through my birthday box etc I have just managed to put together 10 presents! The 2 mums will get my drawer smellies, the 2 boys and one of the dads got a chocolate Santa and a candy cane in a home made stocking (made last year) the other dad is a decoration nut so he is getting a decoration I bought a couple of months ago on a pre-christmas sale and the 3 girls have a note pad, teeny tiny pens, 3D Xmas stickers, and a book mark.

Another piece of good news. Hubby got a registered letter that we had to pick up from the post office. He was stressing because he was imagining all sorts of bad news - what else comes by registered mail? It turns out tickets do! It was the ticket to Soundwave that he bought for Dan'as 18th birthday present.

I also heard a name called out on the radio to win a prize if you call withing a certain amount of time and was able to warn the lady that she didn't have much longer left to call. She won $94, but doubled it by answering a Xmas question.

Good news Zusy and about time. Hope you enjoy your Chrissy dinner.
Good news here too, Pete survive the MRI after 6 valium, was soooo chatty afterwards and even thought he could drive home (no way!) is now sound asleep on the lounge.
Sounds like you had a good evening too Heidi, so what did IH say when it was one of his employees?

Heidi, I am like you and the MRI, it hurts lying on my back that long. I almost pushed the panic button for them to stop and get me out, but just talked to the tech instead. I was about 2/3 finished. Stopping would mean they would have to start back at square one, so I " went to the beach" in my mind, watched the waves, enjoyed the sun, till it was over. T"HEN I took a big pain pill. If I have another, pain pill will be taken before I go in. If I am too woozy to walk back afterward, they can call transportation to wheel me out in a wheel chair.
time for bed, I am tired after my afternoon out. I think it did me a world of good, cause I did not strangle hubby when he was unhappy with a cola poured from a can instead of a 2 litter bottle. "The canned ones have too much carbonation". OH, is that all? Stirring a glass of cola will de carbonate it really fast. I think he is getting hungry now, but mouth is all broken out and nothing goes down easily.
If I do not ask him if he wants it, and just hand him the medicine I think will help his symptoms, he will take it and he does get better. ( see Tricia shaking her head and sighing)

Good very late evening/very early morning! It's nearly 1 a.m. I'm going to take a quick look at page 468, then head to bed. Our wood-turners' Christmas party is over. It went very well. I had sent an email to about 15 members requesting help with the set-up. While about 1/3 of them weren't coming, the others all pitched in. Nearly everyone who attended helped in some way, either with set-up, serving or clean-up. We were supposed to be out of the space at 10:00. We made it by 10:12, and we even had a high school choir entertain, then fed them. What a great group of people! Unfortunately, my back, knees and feet are all telling me to give them a rest.
Hi, Heidi, Suzy, June, Tami and CynB!
Heidi, I hope your friend and her daughter can have a meeting of the minds! How unfortunate that you got caught in the middle!
Suzy, what a wonderful friend you have! I hope you feel better in the morning!
June, it looks like everyone had a good time as the Village People! How fun! I hope Laura enjoyed her walk and seeing the houses lit for the holidays! I have to admit it sounds quite foreign to be enjoying the Christmas lights and dealing with the heat!
Tami, I hope the rest of the week is warmer!
Hugs to all! I really must get to bed, as I'm falling asleep here. Positive thoughts, prayers, {{{{HUGS}}}}, and
to all of you! I'll try to spend more time here tomorrow! Good Night!

My hubby isn't very happy with himself at the moment. Last night on the way home from work he managed to leave his Iphone on the train. It is how he communicates with everyone especially work related contacts. Anyone think he will get it back??

Unfortunately it isn't covered by insurance. The SIM has been cancelled so no calls or internet use can be made from the phone.

Heidi, glad the dinner went well.

Good Morning Friends. It is cold and raining here. Depends on where you are, might be freezing rain. I see a few icicles starting on my bakers rack that holds flowers on edge of my porch. The freezing rain is much further south that forecast last night, should have stopped about 70 miles north of us. so much for pinpoint accuracy
I have left too much to be done in the next 3 days fore my family gathering for christmas. I still have to make a few gifts, a candy/confection for the guys. We are doing very small gifts this year, home made or from the dollar store. Just the fun of unwrapping something without all the expense.
I helped daughter wrap her gifts for the ladies. she brought lemon verbena soap from California. I love lemon verbena! She had extras, and left those with me.
Tami, 3 more days of school till holidays?
Good Morning Teresa, I need a cup of coffee too please. My coffee maker has become very slow giving me a cup.
Brenda, I hope the phone is recovered, but would not hold my breath. Will hubby be replacing it today?
Julie, I am happy for you that the party turned out well. Boy, the site of your party did have strict times. Like, who would be coming in after 10 pm to use it? Glad you were able to get out of there as soon as you did.
Broni, glad that Pete survived the MRI. these men, think they can drive no matter what. Glad you were there to set him straight.
Suzy, so happy to hear all your good news. May we each have such a good news day soon.
Coffee is ready, I need a cup, and then to get started on some ffuts. Hugs to each of you, with extras.

I wish I had your optimism Heidi. The train Richard left it on was probably headed a couple of hundred miles north of here, Richard went to the station to report what he had done so if anyone hands it in it should get back to us.
MizT he isn't replacing the phone with a new one, he is going to use one of his old ones until his contract is finished in a few months time. The network provider is sending out a new SIM card so he can still use his allotted minutes etc.

Sorry Brenda... I didn't mean to address the comment to Suzy instead of you. I'm usually not an optimist, but this time of year does frequently bring out the best in people. Normally I'd say that there was only a very slim chance of getting it back, but I'd increase it to 50/50 during the holidays.

A few years back my sisters and I found a cell phone while we were on a weekend away. We phoned the number we found on the phone, and the man was upset we were using his minutes to call him. He also wasn't pleased when we told him if he wanted it he had to come and pick it up because we were not that familiar with that city. There's just no pleasing some people!!!

Brenda - when we owned the business, we used to pay our mobile provider a small extra amount each month to back up the SIM card on hubby's phone (weekly, I think) so that if he lost the phone or it was destroyed - all info could be retrieved for him. He just had to remember to save all contacts, photos etc to his SIM. Never had to use it but comforting to know. Also our household insurance covers loss of Mobile phone. It helped to have a daughter who worked in the Insurance industry and know which policy gives what benefits.

Speaking of my daughter - she and her hubby are off to a Christmas party tonight so we have Lachlan and Madeline. Quite looking forward to it, don't see as much of them these days as we do Andrew's girls. Lachlan is going to work with Poppy tomorrow. Maddie and I will go to see Mum and then get in some retail therapy, I think.

It's so dark outside. It's thundering and the lightning bolts are really lighting up the sky. We all moved our cars into the warehouse for safety. If I was home I would turn my computer off but since I'm at work I can't really. This storm is getting so close now.

Good Evening, Everyone! I hope today has been a good one with mild weather and pleasant activities!
Hi, CynB, Tami the T, Theresa, Heidi, MizTricia, Rolanda, Suzy, Broni, Vicki,
It seems that there have been some interesting extremes of temperature in various parts of the world. I'm wondering how Britain is doing with all of the snow. I don't think I've seen a post from Brenda for a few days.
Heidi, I'm glad Robert was able to help with getting the steer and delivering it. What a wonderful surprise to come home to - a baby budgie and 2 baby lovebirds!
Rolanda, that cruise sounds like a lot of fun! So glad you enjoyed it!
Broni, I hope Pete's MRI went well. We have some "Open MRI" facilities here for those who get claustrophobic. Many provide the patients with CDs and headphones, or allow patients to bring their own CDs.
Heidi, did IH thank you for rescuing his employee?
Suzy, what a nice neighbor to treat you to a new blouse for Christmas! So glad you could also share a cold beverage! How nice of the other friend who bought you a cookbook and flowers to cheer you up - and it happened to be on your birthday! I agree; you have some wonderful friends!
Heidi, I'm glad you had a good time and good food at the Cattlemen's Banquet!
I'm going to post this before turning the page to 470.

Suzy, you had a very good day, it seems! (I think it was yesterday, but hope you're having a good day today, as well!)
Broni, what a relief that Pete successfully survived the MRI!
Heidi and MizT, I'm also going to join the ranks of those who have trouble with back pain during an MRI. Seems like they take almost forever!
I see Brenda has joined us on page 470. Hi, Brenda! What a shame that your hubby left his iPhone on the train. I hope he'll get it back! I actually saw someone pick a mobile phone up off the floor in an airport and check through to find the owner. She called and arranged a way to return it. Good luck!
Heidi, I guess IH turning red and saying, "Oops!" is about as close to an apology as he can get.
On a happier note, hurray for the budgie babies! I guess you were REALLY tired when you got home from the banquet!
Suzy, I hope you enjoyed your facial!
Cyn, I hope you have a wonderful time with Lachlan and Madeline! Enjoy!
Suzy, I hope the storm doesn't frighten the horse, you or Nomnom too much!
Vicki, I'm glad you and the other employees were able to move your cars into the warehouse. At least you won't get soaked walking to the car when you are ready to go home! Will the computers at work be shut down if the storm worsens?
Heidi, the baby budgies will look beautiful! Are you thinking of selling any of these?
It's nearly midnight, so I'm sure Tami has gone to bed, as well as Heidi. I'm thinking MizT and Theresa may have, so it's about time for me to be saying Good Night! Positive thoughts, prayers,
and {{{{HUGS}}}} to all of you and your families!
