Well survived another storm today or thunder boomer as I think you topsiders call it.
Yesterday being at home we were lucky that we missed the brunt of the storm, reports on the news were showing hail the size of oranges and many areas around us lost power. Today at work we were in the middle of it, batten down all the hatches and stuffing rags under the roller doors of the shed we work in, the rain was horizontal and was coming through the windows in the roof but survived without any damage.
Strange that Cyn has not mentioned anything she may have been lucky in her area.

Broni - I'm here! That was one scary storm. I was here alone and the rain was bucketing down and the lightning and thunder were simultaneous. No damage - only to me and the dog - we were both scared!

Evening all,
That was one loud storm, but no hail! I missed the first part because it hit while I was being pampered, the second part I was at home watching the poor horse run around frantically trying to escape from the noise. One of my fb friends lost power, but we were fine.

I wish I could wrap this week up and give it as a gift to you guys!
Monday I had the wonderful birthday I told you about. Tuesday a friend came over and swore all over my house. Wednesday was that series of posts I made about the wonderful things that happened. Then today I was totally pampered and spoiled rotten, hubby got a few hundred dollars in overtime pay so I bought some stocking stuffers and a large ham, and hubby has been told to PLEASE take holidays as he has too many accumulated!!

Hi All. Some heavy rain and lots of noise.Turned off the pooter as BOM was showing some heavy rain approaching.
A rather expensive day and the piggy bank is about 1 1/2 grand lighter. A visit to the dentist and he fitted the cap onto the problem tooth. (I did do some shopping as well).
Busy doing lots of swearing as the family from Melbourne will be here tomorrow! Catch you all later.

Cyn, all of the data on Richard's phone is backed up on his computer, but to access it he needs to get a new Iphone which isn't going to happen for quite a few months. He will work out how to get his most important numbers again, fortunately the old phone he is using has a lot of his numbers already stored on it though they are quite a few years old.
That storm sounded dreadful and widespread if Cyn and Suzy were affected by it.
Julie, here in Britain the snow is again affecting the north and Scotland. Touch wood we have missed out at this moment but the forecast isn't good. Temps are dropping again.
I'm going off to Cheltenham to pick Emily up from uni for the xmas holidays. My brother is going with me just in case the weather turns nasty. It is a two and a half hour drive each way.

Hi everyone. It seems like strange weather all over the world. I have been getting temps in the 40's when the average for this time of year is in the 70's. It will get back into the 70's this afternoon. Orange size hail down under and wide-spread storms. We really need to start taking care of our environment, if that will even help.

Suzy, glad you are having a great week. You deserve it.
Heidi, enjoy all the little babies. Didn't you once say there was a store near you interested in the babies?
Brenda, hope things work out for hubby's phone. I know they are expensive to buy.
Hello to anyone else I have missed. I am not as good as Julie at summarizing all the posts.
2 more days, today and tomorrow, and I have a 2 week vacation. Yeah. I was hoping to visit a friend in Atlanta for a few days with the boys but I don't think that is going to happen. Having spent all that money on a new fridge, I don't have the gas money and prices are rising. It would take at least 3 tanks each way and it costs about $50 or more to fill my van. She will be moving back to Florida in a few months so this was a last chance for the boys to see where she lives. Mitchell went with me 2 years ago but Dylan hasn't been there.

Suzy, I still have an address book but I have not updated it in years. If I lost my phone, I would lose a lot of phone numbers. Luckily I have not lost a phone yet but Mitchell has lost 3 of them so far. He averages one a school year. We keep all old phones when we upgrade and that is what he uses.

TAMI, thanks for the cup of coffee, it will tide me over till my pot can brew. YEAH, only 2 more school days for you, and today is half made, you already woke early and got moving.
Sounds like a terrible Aussie storm, glad no damage or injuries from it.
Rolanda, hope you get some rest today after all the appointment taking and such.
Morning Teresa, how goes your day?
SUZI, gasoline prices going up here just in time for Christmas Traveling, then supposed to go back down till spring. I do hope so, we have a LOT of driving ahead of us January and Feburary, five days a week. NOT used to that much travel here.
Rolanda, our Christmases here jabve beem so warm so many years, my sister could not wear any of her collection of santa sweaters or sweat shirts. she buys them on clearance or at thrift stores. this is the sister who collects Santas of all kinds, jewelry, the mentioned shirts, coffee mugs, figurines, tea towels, pot holders, cookie tins and gift bags, you name it, Santa, santa Santa, hundreds of Santas. So, recently she started buying short sleeve T shirts with Santa on them. this year, too cold for those hehehe.
Brenda, hope the temperatures moderate in your area, and no huge snowfalls for you.
Broni, so glad your work computer did not blow up, would hate to think of you mopping and sweeping. Those are swear words dear!
JUNE, hope you are soon able to fatten up your piggy bank again, that was some hit on one day! Is that the end of the dental work needed at the moment?
Cyn, did you have the dog in your lap to comfort each other during the storm?
Al had a good day yesterday visiting with his daughter, Joy. Tami, this is the daughter from your area, Melbourne, Palm Bay area. she drove up by herself, and over night. Dad was a bit concerned but they both survived. I think this is her first trip alone. She and her fiance have broken up, long story, but when she changed her facebook status to single, 8 of her friends gave that a LIKE.
Coffee is ready and I could use a bit of perking up. I MUST wrap the gifts that go to our family 'Christmas Party, and see if I have one for each who will be in attendance. I think I am shy 2 guy gifts. I made a chocolate confection, boiuled cookies, yesterday. those were to be for those guys and guess what? They did not set up, still a wet chocolate mess. Perhaps I did not boil them enough?? Now to plan B. Joy and I ate some of it with a spoon hehehe, has the right taste.
Hugs to all with Extras.

It iced all night long.... now it is just at freezing/thawing, and water is coming through the ceiling of the sunroom... in two places!
The rug (a cheap one, in case) is soaked, but that's the only real problem besides the leak itself.

MizT, I will have to google boiled cookies, I've never heard of boiling cookies before.
Tami, I'd be totally lost without my address book, the only numbers I have in my phone are ones I call from it, and that is so expensive I rarely make calls from my mobile/cell.

Suzy, here is a link to a recipe for the boiled cookies. I think I know what I did wrong. It has been ages since I made these cookies, and I used what oatmeal I had on hand, old fashioned oat meal. Recipes I am seeing now say the quick cook oatmeal. My recipe does not specify, bummer. I might try again once I get some quick cook oat meal and see if that is the problem.
