Heidi, love the avatar, this one is really striking. The head color as seen on my monitor is a luscious shade of pinky-orange, the newest color for spring. they call it honeysuckle. I am ahead of the trend, I have a sweater and a T that color hehehe. Hope you get a good nights sleep and awake refreshed. What new info did they have about the muzzle loader?

Suzy, always good to finish re-provisioning for the family. something I need to do again one day this week. Happy you have yours finished.

Time for bed here. I have a Scooter-cat on my computer tower, her favorite resting place. It purrrs to her. Screech has found a tote bag as her " nest" for the night. I am surprised neither of them are in AL's lap.

Hugs to all, catch you again tomorrow.

Good Evening, Fellow Sudokuaholics!

Hi, Heidi, MIzTricia, CynB, Vicki, Suzy, Broni, Tami, Theresa, June and Brenda!

MizT, the system you and Al use to see TV shows you've missed sounds like a good one!

Cyn, good for you for getting your decorations down! That can be a major undertaking!

Vicki, I like your idea to organize cans in your pantry! You don't know what's in there if you can't see it! Good luck with organizing the new bookcase when you get to it! I hope your day back at work is going well!

Heidi, I hope IH gets some good news from Antiques Roadshow! They sound like items that would be of interest!

Hi, Broni! Hope you are having a good day!

Tami, did you remember to check/change the batteries in the smoke detectors? Ours sometimes go off when the battery gets low. Unfortunately, when one goes off, it usually triggers the others and drives us nuts! What a way to start your day!

Theresa, I like the description of your Christmas tree with two spikes and two angels. Next year the grandies will want another tree with two spikes! I'm glad you had a good nap - makes it easier to get through the day!

June, you're so right that a visit from grandies can make more work! Because our grandies live so far away, it's easier for us to visit them than for them to visit us. I hope we don't make a lot more work for our D when we visit them. I'm glad Laura (and hopefully you) got a good night's sleep!

Theresa, I'm so sorry that there is still no news for your D! It's unfortunate that passing the buck seems to be the approach to explaining the delay in her getting treatment. Would it be of any help to contact the doctor again?

Brenda, hooray for your new gnihsaw enihcam! It's great that you were able to deliver it and your son was able to install it right away for you! I hope all the items put in it come out extra clean!

Theresa, in a way I can understand why your D would not want to irritate the very doctor who would ultimately be doing her surgery. Still hoping that her case might be moved up without the use of an advocate.

MizT, thanks for checking out what a sack barrow is. We also have one or 2 here. (I was envisioning some sort of arrangement using the straps that some moving persons use.)

Suzy, I've also been thinking about you and Ebob - and hesitating to ask for fear of jinxing anything. I hope all is progressing smoothly!

Heidi, I'm glad the offer for the muzzle loader wasn't high enough for Gil. At least the one item you're interested in will still be around for a while. I found it interesting that he would even consider selling such a valuable object. Do you think he needs to liquidate some possessions right now?

I'm having difficulty staying awake. Thinking of all of you and your family and friends and sending {{{{{HUGS}}}}} and positive thoughts for all of you to share!

Ebob is still here and things are okay. She pulls her head in, but the attitude shows in her face occasionally. We also still don't know what she's up to some times, though it's a lot better than before. We still don't know what's going to happen when the school year starts. She still owes a lot of money to several people, but she is getting work so will hopefully start paying it all off. Lesson she needs to learn - you can't go through life leaving a string of debts behind you. I hope we get a chance to teach her that one. She isn't helping around the house and most of her bad habits came home with her - sigh.

Good Afternoon from wet, soggy Queensland again!
Need to let off steam about idiot drivers travelling on flooded roads, they just have no idea! At least I got home safely.
Zusy, how old is Ebob? I forget. I hope she does learn about being responsible for her actions and debts, but sounds like a hard road ahead.
MizT, had to a Google Sloppy Joe, is it the ground beef, onions, sweetened tomato sauce or ketchup and other seasonings, served on a hamburger bun, or is it one or more types of sliced deli meat, such as turkey, ham, pastrami, corned beef, roast beef, or sliced beef tongue, along with coleslaw and Russian dressing, served on rye bread? They both sound yummy! Thanks Wikipedia.
Speaking of the Internet, I remember when I used to buy the weekly books of the A to Z encyclopedias, we have come a long way since then.
Funny, just did a spell check before posting and it does not recognise Wikipedia.

Intermission here. I got up for the nightly trip, now can't get back to sleep.

Broni, the sloppy Joes we had were the ground meat kind. they were yummy. Hubby ate two of them.

Suzi, Glad that Ebob is still home. some of the other problems would be hard to deal with. So sorry you are having to deal with them.

Think I will work a puzzle, see if that will put me back to sleep. Hugs to all.

Daughters were here today going through old photos. What a laugh! I can see "This is your Life" in the making! also had the vacuuming (I am sure it is not swearing when someone else does the work!)lady today so the house is getting tidy! I also took down the Christmas tree. Just have to get the box out of the roof to put it away.

Morning all.
Tricia, I also love sloppy joes. They also happen to be a quick dinner if I forget to pull anything
Theresa, thoughts still going out to you and your daughter. It is a shame she still has to wait.
Suzy, I know it is difficult dealing with Ebob but at least you know where she is, most of the time.
The tests I am grading now are just the little ones I devise. Not as stressful as the "big"one. They are 5-10 question quizes just to see where the kids are.

Hey June, should I have been swearing when I did that swear word to earn my keep?
Did too Dag!
MizT, Tami, do you toast the buns? Sounds like savoury mince on toast to me.

Morning all.

My back is achy (achey ???) today. We are expecting snow, so it must be wetter snow coming (snowball snow). One of the benefits of winter is that my arthritis does not bother me as much. In fact that's probably the ONLY benefit of winter.

Broni, we have Sloppy Joes the odd time - hubby likes his buns toasted, but I don't, so it's a matter of what you like. Somehow talking about hubby's toasted buns doesn't sound right, does it?

I toasted my buns, Al did not. I must ask him next time if he would like savory mince on toast for dinner hehehe. sounds more exotic.

BYW, they are also called Manwiches here, if you buy the tinned sauce by that name for mixing with the mince.

Maybe I should explain the avatar. This is a Peach Faced Lovebird, but a new mutation. It's called an Opaline. The face color is extended over the head, and all colors are more intense. I'm in the process of buying 4 young ones in California. (They'll arrive by plane) Then I will sell 5 birds that I'm not crazy about. They're all washed out, diluted mutations. I'll keep the wild color ones and the lutino .

June, the dampness seems to affect my arthritis more. Humid summer days are especially bad. Winter tends to be fairly dry. It has been snowing so far most of the day, but I haven't gone out in it yet (and may not do so at all).

Heidi, my hubby is a meat and potatoes kind of guy. So he is easy to cook for. He doesn't over-indulge though - he has always been a health nut. He used to be a competitive powerlifter and still lifts weights at home to keep in shape. Powerlifting consists of deadlift, squat and benchpress - at one time he entered a competition in Iowa and was the state champ in whatever the lift was at the time. (I wish I had some of his self-control.)

Great photo by the way June! I love king parrots and it's a good photo of you.

I love sloppy joes buy hubby prefers hamburger helper. We've had it a few times now that he's worked out how to make it without the helper - can't get it here. From my experience, and it could just be a difference in cooks, sloppy joes are a bit more 'sloppy' than savoury mince on toast.

All this talk of being organised. I wake up each day with good intentions, and that's all I seem to end up with. I wonder if it's general laziness or if it's related to this thing the doc said I had related to the stroke and called initiation something...

Broni, Ebob is 17, it won't be long until she's 18 now. She wants all of the freedom of being 25 without understanding that the freedom comes from earning an income and finishing childhood things first.

Suzy, glad you are doing better. Let us know if you did the hard.
I could not decide what to make for dinner tonight. I forgot to defrost anything. Had to stop at the store so I am making sloppy joes. They did not have the sauce I usually buy, Manwich, so I will use barbaque sauce instead.

Greetings friends. Today was my day to shop and pay bills. I came home so tired I left the putting away of cold items (and most were cold) to AL, and went to bed. Back and hips were screaming. an hour in bed and much improved.

This wal-mart did not have ONE case of Sam's Diet drinks, any flavor. there were only 5 bottled ones in the store. Bummer. Now there are none. I do like the canned colas for when we are traveling, will need them for lunches I will pack next week. Lunch out 5 days a week is just not in my budget. Heck, at the moment could not swing that 5 times a MONTH hehehe. We will have water, coffee or tea Monday, or crystal light drink. Al can get diet colas in the patient snack room, they are provided for him. I can shop the other 2 wal marts while we are out and hopefully find some caffeine free diet Sams colas.

I am flinging food as i type. tonight /salmon patties, I think you Aussies have a better name for them. Cats are sitting outside the back door, licking their lips. They smell the fish hehehe.

Had lots I wanted to comment on, but timer says I must close and tend our meal. Hope to be back later.

OH, forecast for Sanday and Monday have the S word in it. up to 5 inches of snow! Again, depends on when and where the cold and the wet meet, moisture coming in from the gulf, cold down from Canada. We do not need another postponement of the radiation treatment. I think I will phone and ask about how we can find out if the clinic will be open. Opening time for them is 8:30. Our appointment is 8:30, so cannot phone Monday before we leave.

Later friends, Hugs.
