June - OUCH!!! I agree with Broni, forget the walker and save yourself. Take care of yourself.
eaa, I seem to have missed something. I don't understand the reference to feeding the devils.
Thanks for the chocolate, Gail. That hit the spot!

Tasmanian Devils, Theresa. A little furry nosed creature like our eaa who is on the verge of being extinct apart from those who care for them like eaa. double something in there. Way too tired, so catch you all after my big sleep.

I slept through yesterday, apart from two 20 minute periods being up. I woke up just before dawn this morning in agony. My back is killing me, and the methadone, Indocin and Flexeril can barely take the edge off the pain. I've had to ask Gil to feed the cows for me. I cannot do it.

Heidi, hope you are feeling better soon. Your body obviously needed the rest, glad you listened to your body.
Suzy, the mom's I usually go out with on Tuesdays were with us last night. Our kids were getting mad that we kept going for yogurt and never took them. Last night was a way to take the kids, and hubbies. We had a good time. The two dads had a great time. One mom came without her son as he had a prior commitment. The 5 adults sat at one table and the three boys, Mitchell, Dylan and friend, sat at another. We sat outside and then walked around the bookstore. It was a pleasant, and inexpensive, evening.

I read that all internet and telephone services have been cut off in Egypt. I wonder how Wagdy was able to send an email out.

hello all.
Heidi..your back must be so bad.Is there any more you can do, when the meds you have don't work.?
Tami..yogurt wouldn't thrill me(cannot stand it) but the outing sounded real good. You seem to be getting out and about more since having the new dog.
Rolanda..glad the cyclone fizzled out but hope it sends some good rain and cooler temps over there.
Broni..I bet those prawns were delish.
It is raining slightly here and at times windy, probably from the cyclones??
I am waiting for a nursing book to arrive in the post.Until then,I am working on 3 assignments at once so that I don't get behind.
Tomorrow,it will be 2 weeks since I had a cigarette.Am using Champix and so far it is great.

Morning all,
June, I hope you are okay!! Fish and chips at the beach sounds wonderful.
Broni, that was an amazing day.
I read on easy that Wagdy is still in the US but very worried about his family back home - no wonder he had access to the internet!
Rolanda, thinking of you!

Nola... Frozen yogurt tastes like rich ice cream.
Two weeks is a major accomplishment, Congratulations! I quit smoking in July of '99, right after I broke my leg the first time. That was a mistake, because I was unable to exercise, and I gained massive amounts of weight. I didn't use any aids to quit, I just quit. I found that the first 2 weeks were the hardest, after that it was easy.

The pain meds have kicked in, and the back pain is now tolerable. I don't know what set off this attack. IH is convinced that it's from driving the little tractor.

Nola, congratulations. You are braver than I. My doctor wants me to try Champix, but when I see all the side effects listed on the TV ads, it's scary. Please let me know how it works out. I haven't quit quitting and one of these days I will succeed.
Heidi, maybe IH is right, maybe the trip in the cold with the tractor did a nasty number on your back.
Hubby didn't go see his parents today, so I guess I will have to fling food soon.

He's always bad mouthing and complaining about that tractor. It doesn't like him, either. I've driven that tractor for years, and I know that it isn't to blame for my back acting up. If it had, the back would have been hurting right after, if not during, that 8 mile drive in the cold and ice. The back didn't act up until 4 days later.

Cold turkey also works, and it's much cheaper, but you have to want to quit. That's the way I went. I just woke up one morning to an epiphany. I was spending more money on cigarettes than I was spending on dog food for 17 collies! I thought that was the dumbest thing I'd ever done and decided to quit then and there. I've never had another cigarette.

I tried cold turkey once, and my weight ballooned so much it was putting my heart at risk. Right now I am trying to lose weight (another 30 pounds to go) and then I am going to try quitting again. If there is something out there that can help me, I'll go for it.

Nola and Suzy, you both have my full support in quitting smoking. I am so glad that I never started. My father finally quit about 5 years ago after smoking for 65 years. He went cold turkey, but he didn't have a choice. He ended up in intensive care with pneumonia and when he came home, it was with an oxygen tank. He wasn't allowed to smoke as he could blow up the house. That is what finally got him to quit.

Tami, it is still a credit to him. My MIL used to disconnect her oxygen while she had a smoke and then put it back on afterwards.
