Julie, little lizards in the house is very common and we occasionally get some bigger ones too.

June, I'm guessing you are busy with the birthday but I am wondering how you are doing??

We get little lizards in the house too. Ours are Five Lined Skinks, a colorful little lizard. The males have a bright orange throat and the females and juveniles have bright blue tails.

June.... how is the head feeling now? Having just experienced something similar, I really feel for you. It's been over a month since I hurt mine, and it still hurts.

Have read, it went in one and out the other! Nothing in between to stop it!

My excuse is it's hot, D*mn hot! Not sure what the temp is at the moment, but this mini heatwave came out of nowhere, and it is fairly high humidity (for Melbourne, that is!).

We were taking no chances today knowing the expected temp. Hubby had one of his regular appts at the hosp, so of course, we go out to lunch first. This time though we took Hannah with us, we certainly did not want to leave her home alone, and she doesn't start school till Friday.

Good news Gail because i don't think anyone will sleep well tonight - we've all got humidity and Susan has a ruddy great cyclone bearing down on her - it's like it has heard of her town and is aiming for it!!

Morning all. Just stopping in for a minute.
Tricia, hope Al gives you some notice if he can't drive. Hope both of you are feeling better soon.
June, hope you are feeling better soon, also. Falls can be scary.

I see Sharon dropped in. Laura had a swimming lesson at 5.30 pm so they are all coming here tomorrow night to celebrate Sharon's birthday.
It is expected to be 40°c here tomorrow. I will have Laura as Sharon will be working and I also have to umpire at bowls.
A couple of spots are a bit sore but otherwise no aches from the fall.
After we took MIL home, then some shopping I had a nice nap this afternoon.
I have the AC on in the bedroom to cool it down so that we will get some sleep tonight.

Morning all.

Suzy, I wonder what my cats would do if they saw a lizard. I imagine they would think it was a toy! We don't have any here.

Sharon, hope your birthday was a good one.

eaa, I too have put some of your prints on my wish list. Somehow that wish list seems to grow longer with every passing day.

MizT: {{{HUGS}}}

Julie, hubby was feeling too tired to go see his parents yesterday. His office is in the process of moving, so he has been spending long days helping out with the move.

Now on to read the next page and to get another coffee.

Julie - that was a nice TOPP!!!

For all of you experiencing heat waves, I wish we could do a bit of an exchange. It's currently -23C here with a high of -13 for today.

June, so glad there's nothing but minor aches left after your fall. Take care of yourself. BTW, my computer is really slow this morning too.

My SIL is on his late shift this week so I won't see the grandies until after school. I finished the second doll blanket yesterday and gave it to the oldest grandie. She actually smiled and thanked me!!! She's such a grumpy little gus that every little smile is greatly appreciated.

Theresa, it does look as if dora4me is looking to find someone... Gath might have found his next internet business

Suzy it sounds as if you are going to busy busy busy being a taxi driver again. We know that you are feeling better by the day after your stroke, but you still need to keep your stress levels down.
What happens when you get your ideal teaching job, you will not be able to be taxi driver then.

Where is everyone over 2 hours and no one has been here. Don't tell me you all have lives and I am left at home swearing.
Oh I've also had a builder come round to give me an estimate for fixing the roof. Have been told we shouldn't be in that our bedroom as the roof is that dangerous!!

everyone. It's been a slow start for me today. As usual. I did get a kick out of dora4me's post. It was kind of pathetic. First that she feels that she has to have a man to take care of her, and second that she would ask for one here. So either she has low self esteem issues or she's a gold digger. Or both.

I'm gonna have to fire up the little tractor in a few, and feed the horses and bulls. They're in a pasture together.

I just got up from a nap. I had a fitful sleep last night and today I'm just cold, so I buried myself under my comforter and went to sleep. Mind you I would rather cold weather than hot and humid stuff. Just maybe not this cold.

Heidi, I think the dora4me post is sad. That someone would (a) need a man to take care of her (you're right), and (b) that someone might be so lonely as to pick a site like this to post something like that.

Brenda, the roof falling on you while you're sleeping would not be a good thing. Good luck.

Have a nice nap, Heidi.

Fortunately we have our youngest daughters room empty at the moment while she is at Uni. Don't know where we are going to put all the stuff/furniture from the room, there is a lot in there including a three seater sofa bed, book shelves, storage units etc.

The joys of home ownership, eh Brenda. Does it all have to be moved or can some of it just be covered up? How long will it take to fix the roof once they start?

They say it will take about a week. As for moving the furniture, well the ceiling has to come down so it will be open to the elements at some stage. I'm hoping we can leave the big things in there as there is no where else for them to go.

Gooday all.
Thank you for the encouragement with quitting smoking. This is my 4th or 5th attempt and the most confident I have felt.It is easier each day now.

Brenda..what a scary thought that the roof might have fallen in on you.Suppose waiting for summer is out of the question.

MizT & Al..thinking of you both

June..I'm glad to hear you are OK after the fall!!It could have been disastrous.
Belated to Sharon and have a lovely celebration tonight.
I hope Laura has a great 1st day of school!

Looks like Qld is in for another lot of flooding when this next big cyclone hits.IT IS HUGE.

Is this Cyclone Yasi? Is this the one that might be affecting Susan? I can't imagine winds of 260 kilometres. I hope the cyclone turns at the last minute and avoids the coast.

Morning all,
Brenda, what a bummer about your roof!! I'd be getting a second opinion - so much work!! And some scare tactics thrown in. I don't trust tradies who aren't recommended by someone so maybe I'm a little cynical..

Dora4me also sounds like a name intended to attract men who like very young girls. Could be an undercover thingy.

Theresa, so you can sleep in and not start the day freezing at the bus stop? Yay!

MizT, we hardly see you anymore because you've found that other page and we don't see you over there either because you have your posts set so we won't!! Missing you!

Suzy this is the second opinion, the first one said the same but their price was quite a lot higher. This builder does come with recommendations, and we are going through the council on building regs.
