Morning all. It's just after 2:30 AM and I've been awake for about an hour and a half. They are clearing the snow from the sides of the road and the sidewalks with very loud machinery. And since we live at the corner of two streets, we get twice the noise!!! The thingie that blows the snow into the back of dump trucks has a loud whine to it and it has the cats all upset. I was hoping to get back to bed, but I notice there's still a lot of snow to take away. They are just waiting for me to go back to bed and they'll start again!!!!

Heidi so sorry to hear about Cole, he will be a hard dog to replace.
Suzy, you be careful what you are doing. Remember you are still recovering and shouldn't be over doing it. I remember what teenage bedrooms can be like.

Cole can never be replaced. He was a once in a lifetime dog. Everybody who met him fell in love instantly. And a LOT of people met him. Many years ago, Cole developed a bizarre bleeding problem that stumped everyone. He started with x-rays, then progressed to ultrasounds and CAT scan, and consultations with the top bleeding experts in the world, then finally had major surgery on his head. He visited every major Vet Hospital in the state. And every Vet and technician and assistant fell in love with him. He had a wonderful attitude through it all.
I need to get dressed and go bury him now.

There is always one of our pets that really tugs at our hearts, more so than others. Cole is that one dog for you. It sounds like he brought a lot of joy into your life, and the lives of those who met him. Gone but never forgotten.

That's done. Cole has been buried, and my back is killing me. IH didn't help. He just wanted to throw Cole in the dumpster. Which is illegal, besides an awful way to treat a loved one.

Heidi, does IH spend any time with your dogs or is he not a dog person? You're right, Cole should be treated with respect and given a proper burial.

He plays with the dogs, and spends time with them, besides appreciating the protection they give us. He's just a jerk. I think I'll tell him that when he passes, I'll toss him in the dumpster.

HERE I IS, reporting in without reading once again. Hope I do not get kicked from membership for my laxity in posting. thanks to Suzy for posting for me other day. Nope, I did not say something wrong, just kept getting a timed out message when posting.

Al is now on tube feedings, Radiation burns in throat keeping him from swallowing much and food all tastes a bit off, so not a lot of incentive to try swallowing. Lots more work for me. especially since he is not tolerating the Ensure bottled formula.

I went back to doc today, was given the big guns antibiotic like Al had earlier, a different steroid tab to take for 5 days, a steroid shot, a chest X ray, an acid blocker in case the burning in my broncial area is from acid reflus, and an inhaler, plus he changed my blood sugar med cause it ws hurting stomach. WHEW, what a lot of stuff to try to remember now. HOPE this does the trick. If not, I am not sure what we could try next.

Gotta run, time to make more fornula, hugs to all and hope soon I can get back and at lest read a Julie post.

Gekko and Greetings!

Hi, eaa, Heidi, Theresa, Broni, Brenda, Tami, Suzy and MizTricia!

Thank you for getting this page off to a good start, eaa! I waited around for a bit after my last post on the previous page - and obviously Heidi did too! You posted 59 minutes after I did and Heidi was about 15 minutes later.

eaa, it looks like we're definitely on track for your challenge. We need about 16 pages and about 670 posts. We just can't slack off.

Theresa, I suppose they wait until night for final touches on snow removal to avoid snarling daytime traffic. But, couldn't they do it after 6 p.m. rather than the middle of the night? I hope you'll find time for a nana nap today!

MizT, I hope my shorter posts don't make catching up more difficult for you. I'm just trying to contribute to eaa's challenge to us! Thank you for all the words of wisdom you shared while the snow removal kept you up!

Broni, rethinking your life can be a good thing - or it can be a bad thing. I guess it all depends on what decisions are made as a result of all that thinking! I hope you had a less-hot day at work today!

Have you heard when Possum's surgery will be rescheduled? I hope he's doing OK in the meantime!

Heidi, it's no wonder Cole held such a special place in your heart! Was his bleeding ever diagnosed? Did you raise him from a pup? I'm guessing you didn't get involved in collie rescue until he was older. We're thinking of you today as you had to bury him! (Gosh, IH can be heartless, can't he - or does he just not think before he starts talking? {{{{{HUGS}}}}} to you!

Heidi, thanks for letting us know about Karen's husband! Besides all of us being proud of him, I imagine the child's mother/parents are ecstatic!

Thanks, Suzy and Heidi for the information and reaction about Julian Assange!

Suzy, what a relief that you are feeling better today! Remember to take care of yourself and pace yourself!

MIzT, how nice to have you able to post again! SO sorry that Al's having difficulty again with the burns, lack of appetite, and resistance to tube feeling! He sure is having a difficult time! I'm glad you returned to the doctor to see what he has in his arsenal to fight what you have! Crossing fingers & toes and muttering like crazy that all of it works! {{{{{HUGS}}}}} to both you and Al - and positive thoughts and prayers!

Heidi, hooray for the tractor mechanic! You got it back repaired and it cost less than anticipated! Great news!

So sorry you've had to delay the shipping of the lovebirds! It's just much safer for them, so worth the delay. I hope there will be a stretch of milder weather next week when they can be shipped!

Dress warmly when you return the small tractor tomorrow - and drive safely! How considerate that you will return it with a full tank of fuel. Somehow I can't imagine that IH would do that!
