Way to go for Karen's hubby. What an awesome thing he did.

Mitchell has a broken finger, not his first. He was playing basketball at school yesterday and got hit by the ball. They put ice on it and we continued at home. He is not a big complainer. Today I looked at it when I got home and just did not like what it looked like. There is an urgent care center near my house that takes my insurance. It is only a $10 copay, so I figured it was worth it for peace of mind. He is now wearing a splint for the next few weeks. He has now broken 2 fingers and a wrist.

WooHoo! Tami got the TOPP! I saw that your light was on! How has school been lately! Will the tutoring you mentioned the other day be on a regular basis - or as needed? I hope all is well there for you, Mr. Tami, the Beastie Boys and Harley!

Now Suzy's light is on. Suzy, I hope you enjoyed going for coffee with friends today! How are you feeling?

Off to watch a show on TV with hubby now, but hope to be back!

Julie, usually they do remove the snow from the sides of the road during the day. They stick flags in the snow to let people know not to park there. I think this was probably a special case because we got so much snow in such a short time. And yes, I had a small nap, but slept like a log last night.

Don't even think about poor Mitchell. Last time he broke a finger, he continued to play baseball. He asked the doctor last night if he could continue to play basketball or go swimming and was told no. He is allowed to play ping pong (table tennis). He does not let anything stop him. He is 1000% boy (extra zero on purpose).

Tricia, extra big hugs to you and Al. It is not easy to fight cancer, but I am so glad he is. With all the support you and Al have, he has to come out ahead.
Heidi, we were all standing beside you, at least in thought.

It has been a very hot and sticky day. 41°C. We have had the AC on all day and done very little. Watered the garden tonight and lots of plants are very burnt. But should not complain with all the floods, cyclones, riots in Cairo etc.

And snow and ice storms June, I feel guilty feeling miserable about some heat and humidity!

Tricia, you and Al are in my thoughts as I understand what it is like to watch someone suffer all the side effects of cancer treatments.
I am pleased you have some family support and hope your health problems are soon sorted out.

I think we will have a very big electricity bill next time but I intend to stay cool. Hope you are OK Suzy. I find the heat much harder to cope with than I did 20 years ago.

I'm up, but going back to bed. It's too wet outside to do anything except sleep in. Which I'm about to do.

The grandies are here while their parents go shopping. So far so good ........

Overnight low 23.3C and 83% humidity... wonder how hot it will get today..

I've just checked and our forecast high for today is 27C, but it's already 25..

Suzy, the grandies are gone home and everything was smooth. We still have some of my daughter's toys when she was a kid (Fisher Price toys and Lego) and they always enjoy playing with them (or almost always).

Suzy, this person on FB, I remember playing dollies with her. I won't say how many years or decades ago that was ....

We had a nice mild day today, the temp right now is 1C. It should be mild for the next few days. Maybe this is our "January" thaw late by a week or so.

Theresa, I'm sure it was only about 20 years ago - it has to be that long for you to have grandchildren, never admit to any more than that!

Suzy, friend OK. She is still having problems with her legs swelling (and heat does not help)and a lot of the scar tissue is still painful. That all should get better as the chemo drugs work their way out of her system. Pet scan is 23 Feb but she will not see the oncologist for several days after that.
Already 31°c here. Hope the cool change is a strong one. I really need to do some gninori as I have not done any this year and the pile is very high! I do need some cool days!
