Since we're going out to dinner tomorrow night, I'm just making burgers tonight. I love home grown hamburgers.

Heidi, If I had your sunroom with all the birds to watch/listen to, I would probably not be here much either. Hope you enjoy your dinner tomorrow.

Fortunately, I can wheel my computer desk chair over 4 feet, and sit and watch the birds. I don't need to get much exercise. Of course, once I start watching them, I have to get up and clean out waterers, and give the birds fresh seeds, fruits and veggies.

Hi all!
I had a lovely few days with SIL and BIL. They left yesterday to go home and then head for China on Sunday. SIL will be back in July for the arrival of her 15th grandchild. Luckily MIL behaved herself on this visit. It all went quite well and they enjoyed their time together.
The white chocolate & raspberry cheesecake was a success. #2 son suggested I put Macadamia nuts in the chocolate biscuit base and it was very tasty. It all disappeared quickly.
Hubby and I are going to a 60th birthday party tomorrow. It should be fun - I just have to find something to wear. I have a new skirt but need a top and sandles to go with it. Damn - I guess that means that I need to go shopping tomorrow.
I'm working today because I had Tuesday off but I've spent the morning twiddling my thumbs. The IT guy is working on the system and we couldn't access our emails or internet either. I filed everything I could, played spider solitaire, looked out the window and was just generally bored. All is good now.
Have a great weekend everyone.
(((Hugs))) to all in need.

Gekko and Good (late) Evening to each of you!

Starting on the lower part of page 547 tonight: Hi, Suzy, Broni, Gail, Tami and Heidi!

Suzy, I hope you'll tell us which of the conflicting performances PRIDE chooses as the time near. If the 2 venues are quite close, they might decide to do one of them earlier and the other later.

Broni, so sorry I missed you! Hope you've had a good week and are feeling well!

Gail, thank you so much for letting us know about Mary. Of course, we will include her in our positive thoughts and prayers/mutters/murmurs! Gail, you are so thoughtful and must be the queen of birthday wishers!

Heidi, thank you for being the messenger of updates on Al. It's quite a chain - from Tricia to her sister to Heidi to SA! Please let Tricia's sister know how much we appreciate the effort! I sent a card to Al at the old room number. I wonder if the partial phone number you inadvertently included would give a hint as to the new room number.

Suzy, I really appreciate that you included the link for the cards for Al! I would have been hopelessly scrolling through PAGES of comments to try to find it.

Heidi, I'm glad you were able to sleep in and IH actually went out to look at the cows for you. I hope all goes well with the calving this year!

Suzy, thank you for reminding me about including Gail's pavlovas in our retreat!

Heidi, thank you for again offering Surreal Farm and an entire wing of rooms! (Wouldn't IH "have a cow?")

Tami, thank you for offering to make your brownies.

I think we should have a regular delivery of the good kosher blintzes (sorry, the name escapes me right now - about 6 or 7 letters long, I think), especially for Heidi and Tami!

Here we are on page 548 - and well on our way to the goal eaa set for us!

Hi, Tami, Heidi, Rolanda and Vicki!

We haven't had a visit from quite a few of the "regulars" in a while. I hope they will soon stop by!

Heidi, listening to old radio programs and watching the birds sounds like a wonderfully relaxing way to pass some time! And home-grown hamburgers for dinner sounds great. Now (almost midnight) is NOT the time to get me thinking about food. Have a wonderful dinner at the Indian restaurant tomorrow!

Rolanda, your day sounds like fun - until your great niece was feeling under the weather and lunch at Macca's was postponed. At least you got to have lunch with your sister and your friend! I hope it was delicious and fun!

Heidi, will the lovebird pick-up be Saturday morning? I'm just trying to see if I have that figured out correctly! Do you need to quarantine new birds when they arrive? I hope they'll be as beautiful as your new canaries!

Vicki, how nice that the visit with your SIL and BIL was so enjoyable - and that MIL was more open to enjoying the visit. I'm so glad you mentioned your white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake. I think that's something else we should add to the list for our ultimate sudoku retreat! It's too bad there wasn't much you could accomplish at work today. That's sometimes worse than having too much. Enjoy shopping tomorrow - and the 60th birthday party tomorrow night!

My life at the moment is noisy, having the roof fixed so it is safe to sleep in our bedroom. Of course this means I have to have the room decorated and new carpets too... oh and maybe new wardrobes too. I can see my bank balance going down considerably. Richard and I are going away for a few days tomorrow. Richard booked this a few weeks back not realising that we will be away for Valentines day.

Morning all.
Julie, Ratner's is the best frozen blintz I have found but Gold's is not too bad. The best blintz is from a shop down the street that makes them home made. They are expensive, but oh, so good.
Brenda, enjoy your weekend away, even if it wasn't meant as a Valentine's gift.

from MizT's sister....

Talked to Tricia a little while ago. They had a better night last night. Both got some sleep. Tricia says Al's color looks better & he seems to be a little stronger. They were talking yesterday afternoon about maybe sending him home today. She hadn't heard anything about it after she got there yesterday, nor yet this morning.

I'll let you all know when I hear more.

The new lovebirds.... pictures of the actual birds on my page..... will be arriving at the airport in Louisville at 12:13 pm tomorrow. Exactly 24 hours from now. I'll pick them up there. I should be quarantining them, but they're from such a responsible breeder that I won't. They'll be happier in a cage next to the other birds.

Morning all,
Mubarak has resigned. The most remarkable thing about this to me is that a 30 year reign was stopped, not with guns and bombs, but by signs and chanting! Egyptians have taught us a lesson.

Hello all, been MIA. Haven't had much chance to read yet, but did learn Al is in hospital - a card has been sent.

My daughter went for her second donation of blood for her own transfusion if she needs it during her operation. But they wouldn't take it because even though she is on special iron medication, her level is too low. She went for a medical appointment earlier in the week prior to the operation and she was told she has to rest and relax more than she has been. So I've been kind of put on extra duty. Also, I can no longer look for work immediately, and they need help financially which we can't do unless we go into debt. It's a no win situation. So I'll stay at home until at least the end of March (a month after the operation) and hubby is going to look for a part-time job. Life does throw curves. Hopefully at the end of March I can find something, anything, and we can try to salvage our lives.

Anyhow, I guess I've been kind of down in the dumps ... spending less time on the computer ... tired all the time. BUT THE END IS IN SIGHT. Yes, I'm shouting.

I have been thinking of everyone and hopefully I'll have a chance to be on the computer on Sunday when hubby goes to see his parents. TTFN.

Not just muslims or extremists though. Some people in the US and Australia believe they have to own guns to 'protect' themselves from the government.

Funny story now, but not when it happened (don't read if you're squeamish). After I got the girls on the bus this morning, I sat down to read this site with my bowl of Raisin Bran. One of my cats was sitting on the computer monitor, which she does a lot. I had a few bites and she vomited (slightly projectile) and it landed right in my bowl of cereal. Yuck.

Theresa, big {{{{HUGS}}}} going out to you. I have a similar story. I was about 8 or 9 and had spent the night at my grandma's house. I was having my cereal for breakfast and her parakeet (budgie) was flying around. He decided my cereal bowl looked like a great place to take a bath. He landed in the milk and took a milk bath. We were both laughing really hard.
