Okay, I've exchanged batteries, bought the forgotten birthday cake and picked up a car load from school. Just have the mayor's welcome to the city and I can be in 'party mode'.

I too wish Dana a happy birthday ... 18 is a terrific age (as long as you're not the parent of an 18 year old). Take care of yourself, Suzy.
D should have a room by now. When my SonIL left her at 8:00 they said there was a room available. She had been in the recovery room, not the hallway. I think hubby might be the only one to visit her tomorrow because of the storm headed our way. Hubby works not that far from the hospital she is in, so he will see her after work.
I am off to bed. Just had a bowl of soup because I forgot to eat supper. Hubby doesn't understand how anyone can forget to eat.
Hugs to all who need them or want them. See you tomorrow.

We're under a tornado warning right now, and have been told to take cover NOW. From what I'm seeing, it looks like it'll be a few miles north of us.

Gekko! We had another meeting tonight, so I'm just dropping by to visit. I'm starting my reading on page 572 where I left off last night.
Hi, Suzy, Broni, CynB, Tami and Theresa!
Wow! What can I say about Alie's duet with her teacher? She obviously has talent and looks so natural - no self-conscious moves - a pleasure to watch and listen!
Cyn and Theresa, both hubby and I have some OCD characteristics. We have learned to live with them. Some are evident to others; some not so much. Theresa, I'm not writing this to be flippant or funny, but it's fortunate that your D's number is 3 and not 8 or 11 or some higher number. There are people who need to repeat things more than 3 times.
Theresa, I've been thinking about your D all day. I'll read further for the results, but I just wanted to say that I hope the surgery went well! {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

This is weird. The sky is thundering and crashing, the wind is blowing at 70 MPH (112 KPH) and the rain is one solid sheet, but Dennis, the dog who's been terrified of storms for years, isn't even slightly worried. And I forgot to trank him in time.

I've arrived on page 573. Hi, Suzy, Heidi, Suzanne, MizTricia, Theresa, Rolanda, Broni, CynB, Tami and Gail!
Suzy, you've already had quite a day! Please extend birthday greetings to Dana from her Sudoku aunties! Happy Birthday
Dana! May your birthday cake
be yummy and presents and friends be as plentiful as flowers!
Heidi, I hope the rain stops unexpectedly and stays stopped!
Suzanne, I hope you will soon fully recover! This has gone on a long time!
MizT, all you can do is keep offering feedings to Al and hope he'll be agreeable! At least there is something for him to consider. Imagine if he lived alone and there was no one to prepare and offer food to him. I hope the results of his weigh-in on Monday will not be discouraging!
Theresa, I'm so glad the surgery went well and her recovery should proceed quickly. The problem with replacements is that they can also wear out. Even if the cap on the femur should wear out relatively quickly, it still buys some time before your D will need the hip replacement. Because she is so young, I suspect they were happy to be able to delay the replacement. It's so much more difficult and involved when a replacement needs to be replaced, and there's no "lifetime guarantee." Speedy recovery to your D!
Theresa, congrats on your Caribbean cruise!
Beware those calls from Montana. We've had a few from there. It must be a "call center" mecca or something.
Rolanda, I hope you were able to get back to sleep! If not, can you squeeze in a nana nap today?

Page 574: Hi, Heidi, Suzy, Theresa and Gail!
Heidi, I hope all is well and the tornado completely avoids your area! Will be thinking of you now and over night!
Theresa, it makes sense that the grandies would not be allowed in the recovery room. I hope your D now has a room and will get some probably much-need sleep! I also hope the winter storm steers clear of the area around you and your D's hospital!
Heidi, thank goodness Dennis doesn't seem to be fazed by the storm so far! I hope that continues!
Suzy, we'll be thinking of you during the party! Hope all goes well and Dana enjoys it. As for creepazoid . . . EWWW! Why is he trying to buy her friendship? Yuck!

Theresa - glad your daughter finally got a bed. Recovery room makes much more sense than a hallway - they'd have to do observations on her often after surgery - can't do that in a hallway. Even the one visitor only deal makes more sense.

Home from the welcome to the city - Alie looked and sounded wonderful! No recording though. Too noisy.
I'm going to finish the cappaccino I got while there and then get stuck into slicing cheese, putting out tableclothes etc.
Julie, you never stop. Thank goodness you are able to stay awake late or we'd never hear from you!
Heidi, I think of 90 kph as the minimum to cause problems, 100 kph can cause significant damage. 112 is therefore nothing to sneeze at - hope you and your animals stay safe! yay for Dennis - hopefully he trusts you now and feels safe.
MizT, I hope Al 'ate' more today and isn't losing any more weight.

Heidi, we had a tornado watch till 5 am, guess what? It is gone, over with, out of our area already. Fast moving system, a few tornado warnings in the state but not for my area. Just some much needed rain now, light rain, not even any thunder.
Heidi, did the hair on the back of your neck stand up when the tornado went over? I can "feel" them, not a nice feeling. So glad you and your animals are safe. Water in the sun room? Do you need some more repairs on that?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANA, hope your party is a great success.
Congrats to Alie on her performance tonight.
Theresa, hope your snow storm is minimal, and that the girls get to visit Mom tomorrow. Glad she has a room now, recovery is not a restful place.
Rolanda, hope the humidity gets better soon, your evaporative coolers just do not work in humidity. Only a few areas in the southwest desert of USA have that kind of cooling, rest of us have the more expensive, but cooler refrigerated air.
Getting late, or early AM, now 1:30 and I should be in bed. Waiting for meds to work, achies are always worse when a storm comes through. Hugs to all, with extras.

Dana, sorry this a little late but an 18th celebration can go on for ages.
Hope the party went off well Suzy, all your preparations should make sure it did.
Theresa pleased to hear that daughters surgery is over with even though it wasn't exactly what was expected. Maybe they were taking her age into consideration when they decided not to do a full hip replacement. What they did may not last as long but might be re-doable more often than a hip replacement. Just hope she is back on her feet quickly so you get a bit of a rest.

Things are starting to settle down here. The decorator is finished, waiting for the carpet to be laid on Monday. The down side is we may have to wait 12 weeks before the bedroom furniture is fitted. Never mind we can organise one end of the room with the sofas etc and use freestanding hanging rails for the essential clothing and keep the rest in suitcases.
The biggest disappointment now is that it doesn't look as if we will be coming out to Australia this year. The repair work etc has taken a huge bite out of the money we were going to use. On top of that Richard has been offered a job at the place he is contracting too at the moment. The money wont be as good but it means we don't have to worry about finding another contract. Plus we will get paid when he is on holiday, something which doesn't happen when you contract.
I'm not sure if Richard has told his step daughter we aren't going so please no mention of it on FB.

May still get over your way this year if Teresa will get her act together!
Poss had a good report from his specialist and they are looking at physio earlier...really needed that time away from him when he was physco after the op.

I was looking forward to it too Broni, hopefully we will get out to Australia in the not too distant future. This thing with the roof (wasn't covered in the insurance as they said it was a fault in the construction) has cost us £14K. Which is a huge chunk out of anyones budget.
I hope you do manage to come over here. If you need somewhere to stay you will always be welcome here.
