Stop worrying Suzy, remember they do this partying thing all the time and you don't.
Hope you don't have lots of food left though.

Suzy, they will come back for the food! What a pity you do not have a flare you could let off over the top of them. That would light up the party!
Theresa, so pleased the operation is over and things are going well. Hope the weather improves to make visiting easier.

Sorry about August Brenda. Hopefully we will get over your way in the not too distant future.
Pleased Possum seems to be doing better. Would be nice if you could get to UK Broni.
Hope things keep improving for Al. A lot of work for you Tricia but we all do all we can for those we love.

Tricia, glad the tornado did not come near you.

Here I sit, coffee nearby. The storm has not hit as yet ... maybe we'll be lucky.
Julie, I always heard that when people retire or are soon to retire, life slows down. I wish. You sound like you are always on the go. Take care of yourself.
MizT, wishing you luck in getting Al to keep his weight up.
Julie, I too am glad that my daughter's number is 3. I watched a show on TV one time where the woman had to do everything 33 times, including washing her hair. She had very little hair left, but she couldn't help herself. Things can always be worse.
Heidi and MizT, thank goodness the tornado left you alone. That must be so scary!

Suzanne, I hope you feel better soon. Something like that just leaves you feeling drained all the time.
Sorry about the Australia trip perhaps falling through, Brenda. Money, or the lack thereof, has a way of putting a damper on our plans.
Glad Possum is better, Broni. Good luck with a possible trip to see Brenda.
I would like to thank everyone for their well wishes. It's truly a good feeling to know there are people out there who really care.
Age was a consideration for my daughter's surgery. Apparently hip replacements only last about 10 years for someone my daughter's age, and they will only do 3 in a lifetime. So this procedure, although it won't last 10 years, will buy her some time. I don't know how many of these procedures they can do before a total hip replacement is required, but for now it's all good.
Off to grab some breakfast. SonIL is home and he said he would take care of getting the kids ready and on the bus, but he'd call me if he needs help. His mom is coming back around 7:00 tonight to spend the night with the girls. She is a wonderful lady!
Heidi, how did Dennis fare?

Gekko all, I think everyone who is going to leave has left. The younguns abandoned the older ones and are in the house - we've made up the spare bed in the back room. Wish I'd cleaned that room!!
There has been a steady trail of people in and out - one group apparently drove half an hour away to get a pair of pants for one guy who was finding it too cold in his shorts.
Haven't seen Dana for a couple of hours, we are told she is tipsy, but she is putting on a good show on the phone. Yes, I have spoken to her as I needed to tell her to stop people walking through the neighbour's yard.
Slightly sad, slightly funny, slightly weird thing. A boy who asked Alie out in Year 7 and she decided she was too busy to date, and then worked out she really liked him and regretted it (even wrote a song about it), is now dating one of her best friends. Alie insists she doesn't like him anymore, and he would probably say the same, but he's here - and you could have fooled me!

MizT.... I know the tornado didn't go directly overhead.... been there, done that, need the tee shirt. I felt like it was within a mile, tho'. I hope I was wrong. I hope it was just the noise of obscenely strong rain combined with the high winds. It's that tight rotation that does the worst damage. Straight line winds are nasty but not as destructive to trees and houses.

OK.... I've just heard that the tornado in the neighborhood last night did NOT touch down. It just made a lot of noise and show. The damage is minimal. As far as I can see, we only lost limbs from a few trees.

It has been snowing steadily for a while now and the snowplow has been by a few times already. I guess they want to keep on top of things.
Heidi, what do the finches make their nests out of? Is there anything special you give them to help them make them?

Good mAen everyone!
Glad to hear everyone is on the mend. Cough is FINALLY better. I think it was Theresa who said it drains you! VERY true! Trying to sleep was no fun and I woke Darrell once or twice in the last couple of nights. Not much happening here, just catching up on e-mails, etc. Darrell taking me to lunch, not sure where yet, getting hungry.
TTT: Please send me the info for George, I heard from him on FB, no changes yet. That's all for now, take care all, TTFN.

The finches start with a nest purchased specifically for their species. In the case of these Mannikins, it's a nest woven out of reeds, with a top. They then line it with various grasses and fibers that I provide for them. I try to research each species and learn what their preferred nesting materials are. Canaries, for instance, like an open bowl type nest, and they prefer hair to line it with. I use wooden boxes for the Gouldians because they like to nest in hollow logs.

Robert and I got that fence up today. I forgot to make sure that I had the right insulators, so I cannot reconnect the hot fence yet. I'll have to do that tomorrow. Next week we're going to replace a gate that's been bugging me since we bought the property. IH installed it, and it's a pain in the rear to open and close. We're FINALLY going to replace the POS. We have all the supplies on site already, including the 300 lbs of concrete were gonna use to stabilize the post that the gate's gonna hang on.

Hi, Rolanda, CynB, Suzy, Heidi, MizTricia, Broni, Brenda and Gail!
Rolanda, I wish I could send you cooler temperatures, or at least drier air! Are you nearing the end of your summer? Thinking cool thoughts and hoping your air con will cool things enough that you can sleep tonight!
Suzy, I'm glad the Welcome to the City went well, even if it was too noisy to be able to tape! Congratulations to Alie and Pride!
Heidi, have repairs been made to the sunroom roof and it's still leaking - or are you waiting for a dry spell for the repairs to be made? I hope there is not additional damage and it doesn't freak out the birds.
MizT, continuing to send positive healing thoughts and prayers your way! I hope Al doesn't become too much of a GOM when you're trying to be sure he gets some nutrition! Have a good weekend! Hopefully there will be good news when he gets weighed on Monday!
Theresa, I hope most of the storm has passed you by and that you, Mr. Theresa and the grandies will have a chance to visit your D! Sending positive and healing thoughts toward her!
Broni, I hope Possum's healing - and maybe even some physical therapy - are proceeding well!
Brenda, good for you for making choices for your decorating! It's perfectly understandable (but disappointing) that all the repairs have taken a large chunk out of your traveling fund! And good news that Mr. Brenda has been offered a job with the firm where he's contracting. Positives and negatives, but you weigh them and make the best choice. Hopefully, you'll have even MORE fun next year with your travels! {{{HUGS}}} Thank goodness we have SA9A!
Suzy, I hope the party was a huge success and that the food was eaten before it was all over! "No Parent Area"?? Oh, my, I'm SO glad I no longer have teenagers!

IH walked in the house and went nuts over the smell of the apple pie. I hadn't started supper yet, so he asked me to make some chili. I'll start on that in a few minutes. Maybe I'll make some biscuits to go with it.

Early morning today as I had a hair appointment at 8am. Need to clean out the car and do some gardening.
Tomorrow we have a big day at the bowling club to raise money for the flood appeals.
Monday we have another early morning as we are going on a trip around the Hawkesbury river with the riverboat postman as he delivers mail to houses only accessible by boat.

Hi all!
It sounds like a good start to the weekend.
I'm taking the dog to the vet this afternoon - skin problems again, poor little blighter!
Yesterday was a "me" day - hairdressers for a cut and colour followed by lunch and shopping. Very girly!
Today is housework and tomorrow is the church AGM. Wow, what an exciting weekend I have ahead of me.
I hope you all enjoy your weekends.
to all. Prayers for MizT and Al
Congratulations to Suzy for surviving the 18th.

Heidi, I don't really know where eaa lives, just that it's in Tassie. We'll be travelling round the state, starting and ending at the ferry, gone for about 10 days - we'll see if Rob's little 'puter works, so may connect with someone along the way, otherwise we'll keep it simple. First part will involve a bit of (gentle!) walking through rather tame "Wilderness" ... we're getting elderly and VERY lazy nowadays! ;)
