Good Morning my friends.
Theresa, hope your daughter is feeling a little better each day and that you are still on schedule hehe!
Tami, are you trying to send me crazy??? Posting that pic on both sites!
Zusy, hope the brain is warming up.
Heidi, yay another bull calf, how many yet to born now? BTW sure you said both new heifers are pregnant, do they normally play with the calves?
June, safe travells for Ken. How is you friend going?
Can I have the seat the other side of you Tami?

And I just tagged another bull calf, after feeding the hay!!!
For the first time this calving season, we have more bulls than heifers! That's 9 bulls and 8 heifers now (not including the bull calf that died, of course).

Broni... each cow and heifer is an individual with it's own personality. But usually, until they become mothers themselves, they think of themselves as calves and can get quite playful. Sometimes with unfortunate consequences since they don't know their size and strength.
The first test with IH is past. He offered to hold open the gate for me while I was feeding hay, and one of the new heifers strolled past him. Within 10 feet. He didn't notice her.

In case anybody is wondering why I prefer bull calves to heifer calves is that when it's time to sell them, steers sell for $.10 a pound more than heifers do. For a 700 lb calf, that's a $70 difference!

Good Evening, fellow Sudokuaholics!
Hi, Heidi, Theresa, June, Tami, Suzanne and Suzy (page 588)!
OMG, Heidi, what was IH thinking? He should have at least called you before coming in so you'd be prepared and the dogs wouldn't have him for breakfast!
Theresa, how awful to have the phone ring so early in the morning! Luckily it was your D and not some awful news! Your weather sounds awful! I'm glad we didn't get it first, though we've had more snow.
June, too bad you couldn't join Ken in Singapore. Safe travels to him! Good luck with the bowls! Enjoy your vegetarian lasagna with Glenn's daughter! Sounds yummy!
Suzanne, did you take any pictures at the Belly Dance Festival? I'm glad you enjoyed yourself!
Heidi, congrats on the new bull calf! So glad the "new girls" are fitting in. I suspect it won't take long for them to get used to your routine!
Suzy, that will be a fun song for Alie!
Theresa, so glad you didn't get the freezing rain! Hope your hubby had a safe trip to and from his parents! I like your explanation of the creation of a good man.
How nice that Harley and Princess can have fun together, Tami!

Reading page 589 now! Hi, Tami, Theresa, Broni, Heidi, Suzy, and Rolanda!
Tami, I have to remember to go check out the picture of Harley and Princess!
Theresa, thanks for sharing all of the great words of wisdom! You have stepped up in eaa's absence.
Broni, thanks for asking Heidi about pregnant heifers playing with calves! It's quite a mental picture! She must be the more out-going of the two.
Heidi, did you buy them both from the same breeder, or are they from different farms? Hurray for the new bull calf!
Theresa, thanks for picking up on Suzanne being the entertainer when we all move to Sudoku Farm. We're going to miss your quick wit when you can't borrow time on your friend's computer!
Suzy, have some chicken soup and get thee to bed! Did you pick that up when you were teaching?
Heidi, thanks for explaining about the cows' and heifers' personalities. I guess that explains why one prefers the barn, at least for now. Would be the same even if they were sisters, I guess. So glad IH didn't notice anything yet! So, generally the bulls sell for more than the heifers, but apparently that wasn't the case at the sale this past weekend.
Welcome home, Rolanda! Sounds like an enjoyable get-away!

I'd best head to bed! We have another long day starting early, including going to Chicago and a newly called board meeting for wood turners tomorrow night. Our regular meeting is Tuesday night. Darn! I really can't afford meetings two nights in a row. I'm way behind getting things done that need to be done by Tuesday night, including printing the next batch of membership cards.
Sending lots of positive thoughts,
, prayers and {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for everyone!
In case I don't make it back for a while, please know that I think of all of you every day. Things are going to be extremely busy the next couple of weeks. I'll drop by when I can. Take care! Good Night!

Yes, Julie... I got the 2 heifers from different breeders. They're not related. Yet they look exactly alike. They're only 13 days apart in age, as well.

Hi everyone,
Theresa, please drop in whenever you can get near the internet. We'll miss you.
I hope everyone had a good weekend. I'm still trying to find out what happened to mine. I hate working on Fridays because a 2 day weekend isn't long enough. I do have this Friday off though.
Hopefully, I'll get some couple time with Kevin this week - a chat and cup of coffe would be nice. He was either at work or painting at the church or doing other stuff at church last week. I'm sorry but I resent the things that they want him to do sometimes. There's volunteering and then there's taking advantage. I'm about to put my foot down and say "no more, find some other bunny". (Not a very Christian attitude but we do have want to have a life!) Ok, rant over.

Vicki... sometimes you have to put your foot down, or they'll treat you like a doormat. I know, it's hard to do. I hope you and Kevin have some quality "couple time" this week.

I should say, at this stage, I have booked Kevin's time for Saturday. We are going out for brekkie followed by some gardening. Let's see what happens - demands from his mother or something/one else. I've told him no more overtime for a while. He needs a few days (or weeks) off.

Vicki I would be putting my foot down too. It is always the same once you volunteer to do something for any organisation they think you will do everything they want and when they want it done. Hope you get your time with Kevin without interruption next weekend.

Just had a nice dinner with my sister.
Victoria, I have a husband who is always doing voluntary work for sporting organisations. Yes they take advantage but it is always his choice as he wants to do it. Then he does not have to do jobs at home.
Julie we will miss you. It would be nice if you could have some time for yourself.
I think you will find the bulls bring more in the meat market.

Feeling a bit vulnerable as we have just
got word that a third friend we have had over the years has passed away in the last few days. All around our age. Two of them we have not seen for some years. All three with cancer!
