It's nice to see all of the new avatars! There is quite a selection of chairs. We've come a long way since the early days on SA1!

It is great when you see so many wild animals about, but as you say as long as your car and the animals do not connect.

Hello Julie (if you're still there), June, Bean, Gail, Rena and anyone else I've missed. Been so busy I haven't had a chance to call in to SA4 or even easy.
Lots of talk about horses, elk and bread. That would have been so special to have been so close to the elk without them going away. Although I guess we often come across kangaroos (or wallabies, near us) that sit on the side of the road and look at us. My grandies love it if we take them to see the kangaroos - there's a quiet road near us and plenty there at dusk.

I had a hot dog and a coffee at Ikea today - not a good choice. Should have gone next door to Coffee Club.

Darn, thought I had a few minutes but have to go out to collect something for hubby - he's busy putting up Ikea furniture at my sister's place.

BL**DY white cockatoos. Chased them out at least twice tonight and about 30 grapefruit down on the ground. Cleaned up100 or more last night and put them out with the garbage. Would not mind if they just ate them but most are just dropped on the graound!!

d2 has created a store front with advertising and I have decided to order a few more chairs - then I just have to remember how to put them on, though I think Gail's got the right idea

Gail, I like the white cockies, except when they get in my fruit trees. The problem is they are rather 'tame' and will take a biscuit out of your hand.Come in the house if I leave the back door open. Laura and the boys when they are here all like feeding them.

RENA, seeing all those elk, and you are not having Elk burgers for dinner tonight? seeing 8 of them, that is a lot of fresh meat there my friend! Huumm, I imagine it is not hunting season at the moment? It is neat to watch the animals, and no I do not go out and kill my own deer for venison. First I see of it, it is frozen at the processing company.

I would be most upset at birds for thinning out my grapefruit also! Grapefruit trees are pretty big aren't they? so no way to cover them with a net?

Good morning all! Lots to catch up on with the pages of chatting! Max looks much better and is back at school today. I haven't been around since Saturday morning because I found out that my niece and her two kids were on their way to my house. They were stopping overnight on their way to Smuggler's Notch to go skiing. Even though I told the kids to leave their rooms clean and their beds made before they go back to school, they didn't. I had no intention of cleaning them and was leaving it for them for when they get home in May, BUT now I had to! The rest of the house was trashed as well because between getting them back to school and Max's condition, I got nothing done. Good thing it takes 5 hours to drive from my sister's house to here!(and hubby and Max helped)

My allergies are killing me at the moment, so I'm off to take medicine and get some tea.

June, I would love to have a grapefruit tree! My inlaws have one in Phoenix, AZ, and give most of them away. They tried sending some to me one year but it was expensive and the mailman left it on the front steps in the freezing weather. I could eat grapefruit every day!

Rena, that must have been a spectacular view of the moose! I saw a special on them and it is amazing that they survive at all. You should keep an old camera in your car in case an opportunity like that happens again.

Mama, you're probably already all packed. I have to start organizing my stuff and also find my summer clothes in the attic. I'll start counting down tomorrow!

STELLA, nice chair you have there! looks most comfy.

I think we missed each other by () that much this morning. Good to know that Max is feeling better. WOW a 5 hour cleaning marathon, oh my! Glad you had help!

Well, my washer is ready to be fed again, once I put this load of undies into the dryer. NOT enough room on my short clothes line for all the undies!

Everyone! I just have a minute before running through the VERY BIG rain drops. Time to take MIL to a doctor appointment. Have a great day! Stella, you, Max and hubby can come to my house any day and do a 5-hour marathon of cleaning. My hubby and I will even pitch in and help! Hope you have some time to enjoy your sister's visit! Hope the allergies improve! (You probably stirred them up with all that cleaning.)
MizT, thanks for the warm beverages! Hope your laundry is done soon. (We wouldn't even think of hanging clothes out today; it's too wet.) Sorry I missed Becky, June, Bean, CynB, Rena, Gail, Suzy, and Broni, too. Hope you all have a great day!

HAPPY APRIL FOOL'S DAY! (That's one thing I miss about teaching. No one tries to fool me for fun anymore; now it's for money.)
Rudy has been bailed out of the vet's boarding school. He's playing velcro dog right now, but it won't be long until he remembers that little girl dog that lives on the curve of the road.

Becky, Rudy is only ornery when I want to go off and leave him contained. Then he is ultra-ornery. He got put out with our taking his picture that day because there were children around and he wanted to play with them.
Rudy doesn't chew just to chew. I've bought him Milk Bones, various rawhide chews, and chew toys, and they all are hidden around the house for a rainy day.
I had only had Rudy for a month when we took those pictures. It was two more months before he really smiled. After five months now, he still is not a confident dog, but he's getting better and he loves me. Whoever had him used a shock collar for his behavior training. It's just going to take a little longer to straighten him out.

MizT's comments about venison remind me of a family story from years ago. My baby brother (who is much more sophisticated now than he was then)was reading the menu at a restaurant and asked 'what is venison?'. He was told it was deer. 'I know it's bloody dear, but what is it?'

For the non-aussies - that means expensive, though I'm not sure of the spelling

Suzy, we used that expression in my house growing up. My parents came from Ireland. I think I've stopped using it because nobody knew what I was talking about.
