OH SUZY, you are too too funny! I did not notice as much it was you, once you kept changing avatars.
Yes, Hubby seems to understand this guy pretty well. I think I would have also. We both were arare of some problems he has had, little warning things, or that comment might not have lit such a fire under hubby. He was moving right fast there! But he has made that same trip to ER back 6 years ago, so kind of tuned in to problems like that. AND this neighbor never asks anything except for computer help, which he repays with many kindnesses. He is always doing for others, not asking. so if he " needed a ride" well, you knew something out of the ordinary was going on with him.

Hi Rolanda and Mary - probably missed you - it's been more than an hour. Glad things are progressing with your ensuite, Rolanda.
It's chilly here in Brissie - I can't believe that I'm sitting here at 1pm in a track suit, in the middle of April. Hubby has just gone out to the woodpile to bring in supplies for if we need the fire tonight.

Hi Julie - I would be enjoying my weekend if it wasn't for the fact that I am knee-deep in quarterly tax figures! If you own a business in Oz, you have to report to the tax people every 3 months. I hate the taxman!

Hubby's eye is fine and back to normal, thanks.

Slow here today. I have had a lazy afternoon and do not feel like cooking any dinner. Hubby has been out at bowls all day.I watched a DVD (although Sharon and Laura called in this morning)

Saturday is hubby's night to cook June, doesn't your hubby know that?!
Pepper steak tonight, served with a micro'd potato and a bag'o'salad. Noice.
Will post the fortnight's menu tomorrow. It isn't very exciting this time, I had to come up with it all myself and then shop, all by myself!
Hubby had to work today(!) because his company is moving to a different factory.

BTW Forgot to mention, shopping cost a lot less today with just me shopping. I am sure I forgot to get a lot of things we will need over the next two weeks, but I certainly didn't buy any new dvds that seem to fall into our shopping trolley every time hubby comes shopping!

Morning sudokuland!
Well, it is morning here at least.
Having my coffee, anyone care to join me in a cuppa ? You all should know the choices by now.
Did any of the SA4 members feel that earth quake in the mid west? they mentioned several states from Illinois to Ga and many points in between as feeling the 5.2 tremmor in the wee hours on Friday. No injuries and only minor damage, a porch fell , some bricks were shaken loose, in a few areas. no damage to infastructure, that is good and even better, no major injuries to people, a few bumps and scratches is all they reported.
Earth quakes seem so scary to me, I have grown to depend on the ground beneath my feet to be firm and stable.
I know if any of the CA people are about, they will laugh at a 5.2 quke, but hey, on this side of the rockies, that is a rare happening.

Weather report, it rained again yesterday. Seems friday afternoon and night is now offically rain ( and severe weather ) night in alabama. A nice wide spread soaking in kind of rain, very good. some Tornado warnings and watches for SOUTHERN Alabama, but I am in Central Alabama, missed us by miles.
The weather service has come up with a lower weather advisory, lower than the severe, called significant weather alert, for storms that are very noticeable, but fall short of the criterior of severe weather. Our county got one of those alerts, about 11 pm. I heard it come through about 11:30, I had fallen asleep in my recliner, watching some TV with hubby. Distant thunder and hard rain woke me, but weather was just a bit of a storm, nothing to get excited about.

Hello, SA4! I hope everyone is enjoying their day/night! Gail, we appreciate your efforts for fortnightly dinner menus! And, yes, I think most of us have experience lower grocery bills when we shop solo, but it IS nice to have help! It seems to go faster, as sometimes, we "divide and conquer" the shopping list.

MizT, I'm glad you didn't experience the severe weather! As to the earthquake - neither hubby or I felt it, but we think from the looks we got from the cats when we got up that THEY did. (It was sometime between 4:30 and 5 am. I was up around 4 and again around 6, but slept through the actual quake.) I have felt one occasionally in the past - just rather unsettling. We live northwest of Chicago, so pretty far from the epicenter. I read that the worst Illinois/Missouri earthquake was so strong that it rang church bells in Boston, Massachusetts. (That was back in the 1800's.)

Good Maen All!!
I hated the earthquakes when I lived in So Cal, but they don't scare me half as much as tornadoes!
In 3 of her classes this year d1 has studied 'natural disasters', including earthquakes. She is now famous for having been 'in' the Northridge quake, though she was only itty bitty at the time.

Hi, Suzy! (And Hi to your famous D1.) Having never been in a CA earthquake, but having experienced tornadoes, I think I agree with you, Suzy. I'm not really sure why - maybe because we sometimes get advance warning of a possible tornado, and that creates pressure to get to a safe (or at least, safer) place in a short period of time.

Suzy, I think it's great that she is "selebrating", as that's a lot closer to a correct spelling than I've seen from some adults on-line (and I'm not just talking about typos). After all, she is young, I assume, and has always had access to spell-check on computers, unlike us old f**ts who used NON-electric typewriters and (ick) carbon paper.

Comming in at the end of a conversation I spend more when I shop alone. I can indulge myself buying what I like. Allowed to spend what I like but 'what do you want that for?' or 'buy it if you want it' so I then generally leave it behind till next time
