Yesterday I felt a bit like Linda Ronstadt's song - DESPERADO!!! [sad , isn't it!] Popped in and out of the chat room at hours I wouldn't ordinarily ever be in there [ostensibly to see if everyone else had the same problem with the site...]...didn't make up for wondering what the SA4 lot were up to!

Stella..hope Max is better by now..they tend to be vulnerable to infections etc when they are going through growth spurts, puberty etc. Worrying for us mums tho.
Brenda..hope you manage to meet up with someone from over there .. it is such fun as you have no doubt gathered. As a kid I enjoyed having penfriends and SA4 is like having one ginormous penfriend - added bonus ...you don't have to wait weeks for a letter. Watch out.. one of these days I intend on getting to your side of the globe and checking up my ancestors - Stevenage will be on the itinerary!

We have had a bit of local excitement. A twenty-pound bag of nitrate soda (fertilizer, the same fertilizer used in the Oaklahoma City Bombings) was delivered to a high school student's home in Mt. Crogan (adjoins Ruby). After they found and read his journal, they had him arrested.

He was going to do the Columbine thing Monday with pipe bombs.

It was his parents who had him arrested.

The journal was full of hate and diagrams of the high school. The only other detail that has leaked was that he hated the guys with the money who got all the pretty girls. His suicide was to be included. He left video tapes.

Hi everybody...Ruby, I was just watching stuff about the parents turning their son in...this will be interesting to see what happens now.

Ruby..that is absolutely terrible.
So good that they discovered his plans before he could activate them but how sad that such a young person can be so consumed with hatred and depression to such an extent he would even contemplate such an act let alone set the wheels in motion.

I cannot imagine what his parents must be feeling and experiencing. It would have to be soul destroying...it would have to be be worse than the grief you would feel if he was dead. But where there is life there is hope and maybe he will get past this black hole in his life and rejoin the 'normal' human race.

He is an ordinary looking kid, not a Goth, with fairly good grades who has never really been in trouble.
Because he ordered the soda from out of state, federal law enforcement became involved. He'll end up with a felony conviction and do time. His life is ruined.
