I think it was just a building move not total relocation. Gail hasn't mentioned having to move house.

Yes Pear trees grow here no problem, there are at least three types of pear native to the Uk. We rarely get much fruit off the tree as the birds generally get to them before we do. One year we had a bumper harvest with pears weighing up to 2 pounds in weight each.

Good Maen all! It was busy here last night!

Feeling a bit maudlin this morning. Anzac Day is the best reminder of why we should do everything we can to avoid war. So many young lives. It reminds me to be thankful that they were willing to go to war, and hopeful that there will be no more wars...

I noticed a few inquiries as to the move I mentioned. My hubby's company has moved to a newer factory. It is actually closer to where we live, the drive from here used to take about 45 mins or longer depending on the traffic, and now takes only 20 mins and avoids all commuting traffic. Even though we have discussed moving house, the town we were looking at would actually take us further away, so we have decided to stay here for now and think about it again in July, maybe move back into the burbs, but still only 20 mins from the factory.

Hi folks.
Well it is a beautiful autumn day in down town Melbourne. Perfect for the old diggers that are marching today in the Anzac parades. Their numbers are really dwindling now - from the world wars that is. With those old bones we don't wish rain and hail on them. My grandfather was a Light horseman and never 'got over ' the war - emotionally scarred for ever. My father in law was in New Guinea in WW2 and could never talk about the atrocities there. My brothers missed the draft [ballot] for Vietnam [to my mothers joy]. There were a lot of shell shocked young men in Deniliquin after Vietnam when I was a young miss about town.

Hope you got the house sorted Bean! However, if your visitors care too much about the state of your house, then who wants 'em?

There were at least a dozen old diggers in wheelchairs in our local march, plus a lot more walking. Probably not WWII vets, but still impressive.

It's a public holiday here in Australia, Brenda. Not sure if that explains why no-one is about. They must have lives!

HELLO EVERYONE.

I did not get here earlier cause of a big bad four letter word, WORK. I was sooking up information hubby needed to submit a proposal to a client. Learned a lot but have raised more questions in my mind than i found answers. OH WELL, perhaps it will be helpful to hubby.

Temps not quite summer time temps, hovering right around 80, but humidity is still less than 50% so it seems cooler. No AC on yet, but if humidity returns, yep, will turn it back on.

Off for a nap now, I did not sleep well again last night. I was doing soo well sleeping for a while, wonder what happened??

Better for me than for June I think - my imagination is going wild thinking of reasons she may have been up and doing puzzles so early... pain, stress, kicked by her husband in his sleep....

I'm going to make an appointment with the dreaded skin doctor in the next week or so. At a minimum I have a lot of those things that need freezing to have removed..
