Ok girls, no more wheeeeeing for me on SA, from now on if I can manage it, I'll be TOPPing.
Rolanda, I'll be interested to hear how it all goes with the renovations of your ensuite. We plan to do ours later in the year and I'm dreading the upheaval. But it must be done - ours is so typically 90's it's depressing.

okay CynB. me and my Cabinet Maker Hubby will swing past your place after we have been to Becky's in Ohio to do her Kitchen Tops.
Hubby can do your bathroom after that.

the Shower recess is leaking.. the walls in the adjoining room are damp. and the bathroom cupboard is swelling due to the damp.

that is the main reason why we are redoing the ensuite.

Ours isn't leaking - problems are only cosmetic but it's hard to clean, the shower door is an old triple fold one with broken runners etc etc etc ....
Oops, gotta go now to see my Mum, I just looked at the time. TTFN Have a good day.

I'm back...Is anyone home?
Rolanda and Miz T, glad you like the chair. After seeing how nice the new room was, I finally broke down and found one that I liked. Its quite comfy. It not only swivels, but it also rocks...and yes, you are all welcome to use it when I'm not around....just don't leave any crumbs in it or spill stuff all over please.

Rolanda...Hope the renovations go smoothly...its always a pain going through it, but the end results are usually worth it! BTW, I didn't get the email.....perhaps the gremlins are still at work.I do hope it comes through.

maEn to you CynB. Oh My, the cake looks too good. i must settle for my graham cracker , my bedtime snack. chocolate and I do not go together well at night, boo hoo.

Yes, fuel prices are going up and up and I am so glad I am not driving off to work daily. Zero fuel for hubby to walk out back to his office and shop. Was not always the case, he ran a service business, might make 7 to 8 service calls a day, and many miles, many gallons. I Imagine trip charges for any service have gone up to compensate, but still all those $$$ for fuel.

Is the issue of food not touching a universal thing? My daughter went through a spell of that, as a pre teen. she would not eit if food touched. now a caserole was OK, but if I served peas and applesauce or some such, with meat, no, applesauce and peas should never touch each other or the meat. I bought her 2 plastic divided plates, and she ate from those 9 when no guests were around) for several years.

I do wonder what this food not touching signifies???

I have a granddaughter who loathed vegetables when she was younger - she eats them now. So one day when she was staying with us and wanted spaghetti bolognaise for dinner, I thought I would cheat and chop up vegies (small) and put them in the sauce with the meat. What a mistake! Not only did she notice, but I had to find every small piece and pull it out, it was not easy (Oh, what a Grandmother will do that she wouldn't have done for her own children!). I told her parents that they had better do something constructive about getting her to eat vegetables. Next time she wanted to stay, I told that she could only stay if she ate what I gave her.

Hi CynB...What a smart Granny you are....children know how special we try to make their visits and they don't want to miss out on them...so we are not above a little bribery to help move things int he right direction.....

June - I was the generally good as child when it came to food....would eat nearly everything except cold meat. The only cold meat I would eat was corned beef/silverside. Strange!

Mum used to make a lot of shepherds pies and another favourite was meat fritters: make a normal pikelet batter minus the sugar, add a dash of W. sauce, minced onion, grated carrot and minced cold meat. YUM.

We never seem to have cold left over meat and haven't had any for years but it is an easy way of getting meat and veg into kids.

I find the best way to 'smuggle' vegies into kids is to grate them up. Another way I saw recently, when I accidentally turned the TV on during the day and watched Oprah, was to use purees. Jerry Seinfeld's wife has brought out a book about using purees and she puts them into everything.

Hi Lynda,Broni,Rolanda,Gail,Bean,CynB, Mamacita, MizT, and anyone else who drops in.

Bean I still make fritters when I have left over corn beef and sometimes for lunch just make vegetable ones with lots of cut up vegetables, a can of creamed corn and some chicken stock powder to add to the taste.
