Hi everyone.
Rolanda hope the mess is kept to the minimum. The photos you sent of your ensuite told lies then. The bathroom looked wonderful, but hid many problems.
I haven't made fritters for many years, don't think my kids have ever had them.
DH and I were talking the other week about foods our parents used to give us. DH mother wasn't very domesticated and frequently used to give him convenience foods. One such meal was a 'Vesta' chow mein. This was a dried meal which had to be reconstituded. They are still sold today, so I bought one to try, to say the politest thing I can about it, it was horrible. (I had had them too so remember them being quite tasty)

Good morning everyone! Dreary and miserable here with lots of flooding!

Rolanda, I didn't see any pictures! You can visit here as well. There are lots of things to be done here and I could use all the help I can get!

MAMA, Airplane plants are also called spider plants, a green or varigated house plant with long graceful grass like leaves. they produce stalks with babies, plantlets, on them and they hang down around the plant.

I sent you an E-mail with a graphic in it, showes a mature plant. the plantlets can be cut and rooted easily. I rooted many of them for some greenery over winter, in small containers. Now, they needed potting up in dirt and I have more than I need, so I am giving them away on FREECYCLE. Met one lady yesterday and gifted her with 3 plants ready to put in pots.

I got a lovely reward for giving. I think I mentioned i cchedked out the mark downs at grocery? I bought $37 worth of things we use every day for $10, yep, WAY more than paid my gas to make that trip hehe.

OOOPS, I forgot! Maen Sudoluland, and here is the coffee pot going nicely, coffee tastes lovely this morning.

Boy I needed extra coffee after having a lie in today. Restless night, hurting and at 4 am, I gave in and got pain meds. Take those most sparingly, as doc is stingy with the giving. slept to 9 am, lovely sleep and feeling much better today, thank you!

It is cool headed for warm today, crisp, low humidity, north wind with a bit of a bite in it, and lovely lovely sun and the bluest skies. Kitties are lying in sun, they missed it the last couple days! I did too.

Wishing all a most lovely day as EASTER WEEKEND starts. If you are traveling, take care. If you have family gatherings, hope they are fun and all you want them to be. Hope you can hide eggs and FIND them all.

No baskets being made here, as my Grands are too far away! Also, a bit on the old side for a basket, although they do love the chocolates. No eggs to dye, No new clothes with bonets and all to get ready. I did get out some of my spring clothes and found an outfit I bought off season I have not worn. Probably be too cool to wear it this weekend, but soon!

Do you have plans? Do you have Easter traditions? Dye eggs for your children or grands? Spring decorations that come out at the equinox? THAT is today also, so lots going on, AND a full moon tomorrow.

I still do not see dogwoods in bloom. they have 2 more days, best get busy or it will be the first EASTER in my memory when they were not in bloom here!!

Wishing everyone a Happy and Blessed Easter! If you are travelling, safe journey!

We usually go visit my mom for Easter, but Brendan has to be back at school on Easter Sunday and Bryana and Meghan have to be back Easter Monday, so we don't have time to go any where. We still do Easter baskets here and up until last year we had an Easter egg hunt with my sister's kids. Even the older ones participated. (for more chocolate and money, why not) It will be a quiet weekend. Meghan got home last night and Brendan will be home this afternoon. We may go to the movies on Saturday depending on the kids' plans. I want to see the "Horton" movie.

Weather forecast here is dreadful, cold and a likelihood of snow. I just hope that tomorrow(Good Friday) is as dry as possible as DD1 is going to photograph leopards at a sanctuary near here. This was her birthday present from us. She can deal with the cold but if it is wet too that would spoil the day.

Greetings All. Miz T, wish I were closer to you...I'd love to have some of those cuttings.
Easter greetings and a great weekend to all.
I'll be in church for Good Friday services and the Easter Vigil on Saturday Evening....not sure I'll return for low mass on Sunday morn. Being a member of my Altar Guild, Easter is usually a busy time at church. I still decorate and bring out the chocolate and jelly beans for Sully and me, but not a big deal. We enjoy watching the neighborhood kids sport their new outfits and wobble about in new shoes...as we munch away.

Maen all. Our main easter traditions are choc eggs and bunnies (of course!) and an easter egg hunt with a mixture of plastic eggs stuffed with coins, candy or whatever is available and coloured real eggs, which we eat on sandwiches later. This even though the kids are older - in the privacy of their own home they can revert to childhood and have a ball without embarrassment!

SA4ers.
First Hot X buns cooked and demolished! D#3 came out this morning looking very expectantly at the bread box. When I asked her what she was looking for, she said hot cross buns, we always have them on Good Friday! Apparently I forgot the first tradition of the season. Luckily, D#1 was coming through the next town and the bakery was open so she brought home a half dozen, so the world will not end!
The only other is choccy eggs on Sunday. Sometimes a hunt, indoors, but mainly just a collection on the end of their beds.

The easter bunny hasn't even bought the eggs as far as I know, she hasn't really been very interested during the last week. Hopefully there will be plenty tomorrow when she goes shopping.
D#1 and D#2 are going on a road-trip up to Sydney, leaving this afternoon, so till they get there, and subsequently get home, I will be in a heightened sense of nervousness about them being on the road. My fingers will be crossed until they return home, I think.

Rolanda, thanks for pics. Your ensuite didn't look too bad to me, but once there's leaks, they have to be fixed. My ensuite is tiled in that horrible early nineties pale blue/gret fake marble. Yeccchhh!

Hi Gail - Our easter plans are simple - not being church goers, today was veg-out day - do nothing, go nowhere etc - spoiled at 8am by urgent phone call from a customer (NEVER own your own business!).
Will see family on Sunday - choccie eggs and a little pressie for grandies and a barbie for us all. Just relaxing and not driving too far. Have a nice time, everyone, whatever your plans. And stay safe.

Hi June, we're not RC either and usually have fish on Good Friday too. My parents did too and they grew up in an era where there was a big divide between RC's and Protestants (thank goodness that's stopped - there's enough trouble in the world!). I think it may have come about because fish in those days may have been easy to get and cheap at easter time. Now, retailers put a premium on it, when demand is high!

Hi CynB, For us eating fish Good Friday was the same as the RC back then did not eat fish on Fridays at all. We were not near shops so probably why we had "smoked haddock"

Decided to try out my original avatar.

Happy Easter one and all. We haven't ever had Easter traditions, just worked right through, like CynB said, don't own your own business. Clients expect you to be there any day any hour! Off to get some fish and chips and sit and eat them in the park and watch the wildlife. June have fun with the horses. Gail worry won't help just trust them. Rolanda you seem far too cool and calm about all the mess.

June, I can get a card now that I'm 60 but I just can't quite bring myself to do it. I think I'm still in denial - until I look into a mirror.

Went searching for a chair to submit as an avatar - couldn't find one I like. I may take a pic of my recliner and make that into my avatar - I'll know then that it's comfy!
