can't believe it is the weekend again...already!!!

Somebody mentioned Mariana...she is celebrating '16 years of wedded bliss' is how she put it. We do all miss her but she did warn us that we wouldn't see as much of her once he came home for good.

Plan on returning later but we shall see...

Welcome back Susan. I remember wearing purple, but not why we were doing it.

Broni, you are making forward progress if you are on your lap top! It takes time. I still have a punch list for my puter, Al said he would make a computer repair call when some more pressing things are finished.

Heidi, you carry a hammer and screwdriver and pliers in your PURSE? I can see you needing them, you being you, but not in your purse! No wonder your back hurts! Please tell me at least your purse is a backpack kind of thingy, so the weight is more evenly distributed!

My ideal purse is just the opposite, very small, long shoulder strap so it could be worn bandoleer style if needed and I had trouble finding one small and light enough for me. I cannot take my own advice and get the back pack kind, range of motion issue. I carry the minimum in my purse, I do not even carry a bill fold or wallet. Reason I had needs for certain "secret pockets" in the purse. My priorities are money, medicine and M&Ms.

Instead of tools in my purse, I take Al with me hehehe. He is the fixer of all things broken.

Hello, I was up early this morning 4am to drive to the airport (1hrs drive) to pick Richard up after his trip to Cape Town. Whe he eventually came through the arrivals gate I knew immediately that he wasn't very well. His stomach was churning. He is now asleep.

Wasn't wearing purple something to do with epilepsy awareness?

Evening all!
Big day today. Baseball - terrible game, no one played as well as usual, and tonight a movie - Star Trek! For such long term trekkies it has taken us a long time to get there!

Brenda, hope Richard is feeling better soon. I agree, I think the purple had to do with epilepsy awareness day. Hope everyone is well. Just a quick stop. Off to do the normal Saturday errands. Be back later.

Good morning all! Very sick this morning. Had a sore throat on Thursday, but I thought it was allergies. Took Ian to the amusement park yesterday on his day off and half way through the day, I figured that it wasn't allergies. Hope it's not the flu.

Have a great day everyone.

Stella. It sounds like a nasty bug. I think the bad ones start with a sore throat. At least they do for me.

Great seeing you back, Susan.

Doing a fly by before I get down to earth - literally (with the watering system work)
MzT - some drip, some sprinkler...all on timed zones to save on water.
Your neighbors from h*ll sound like the kind of locals around my hood. I love quiet and am so bummed you have no recourse with the Sheriffs.

What a joy to see Lizzy and Susan here! Yippeeee!
Suzy - bummer about the baseball, but bet you enjoyed the movie - it was fun, wasn't it?
Judy - I VOTED FOR KRIS! Loved his music! I thought Adam was the most talented individual I had ever seen on AI - his voice was incredible. But I did appreciate both finalists and was more drawn to Kris' style...not a fan of heavy metal rock. I think Kris had a broader appeal (demographically) and that is why he beat out Adam...who was, admittedly, the best singer.

Stella darling - do take good care and get well soon. No fun being sick when the weather is improving..."sick" is a winter activity, don't you know?
Speaking of weather - batton down the hatches, Rolanda!!! So happy you are getting some well needed winter weather. Hope the work in the back yard is finished before the weather get's too bad.

Brenda - sorry Richard is sick...well wishes for him, too.
Broni - back on the laptop - Woo Hoo!
June - your winter soup sounds yummy...enjoy the rain.
Nola - 8 special occassions for relatives in May? That's enough to bankrupt most of us! Hope you enjoy the twins' b'day!
Tami - welcome to the long weekend - sorry I've missed you on IM - my time at the pooter is sparse...and on that note, I do need to get going.
Sorry to have missed everyone - don't seem to get here when anyone else is around.
Big hugs all around...will check back in when I can.

Hi Vici, your irrigation system sounds wonderful. I've just beeen using mine and I'm soaked. Mine if you hadn't guessed is a hand held hosepipe, unfortunately something has happened to the watering wand and it is leaking all around the handle which is why I am as wet as the plants.

I lost a long post earlier about Indi saving the life of one of our fish.
The fishpond sprang a leak and was more than 3/4 empty, plus the pump/filter system had packed up too so repairs were going to cost quite a bit. We decided to fill the pond in and make it into a flower bed.
Whilst emptying the rest of the water from the pond we didn't find any of the 5 fish which should have been in there so it looks like some critter has had a good supper. Well we thought that all 5 had been eaten until Indi came running up to my son and dropped a black fish (the only one of that colour we had) at his feet. It must have got thrown on to the garden in some very sludgy pond water. The fish is now doing well in a hospital tank with medicine in to help with the tattered fins. Indi didn't cause this injury she was as gentle as she could be.

VICI, OH NO, you do not have neighbors from hell too? I do remember now you saying something about that before. Not fun is it? People who have not experienced this have no idea how difficult it is. I am glad that most of you have not had this problem.

Memorial Day Weekend Greetings to all up here in the States. Our plans for today were canceled by lots and lots of rain, all day kind of rain. There is a car show up at the park. I need to put up some photos from the park, nice place.

Brenda..... Indy is WONGERFUL! Not many dogs would have the sense and kindheartedness to bring the fish to get help. I know mine would just eat it.

My good day yesterday has run over into today. IH's cousins decided that a 3 hour drive was too much after all, and are NOT coming down here. So I get a much more relaxing weekend!

As Indi is an working English Setter(we are more certain of this instead of the cross breed we were told) it is instinct to retrieve things.
We have a long weekend in the UK too and half term for schools. Weather is behaving itself at the moment.
Tami, my daughter is jealous of your time left until the end of school for the year. She still has 7 weeks to go.

Hi SA8ers!! Sorry I haven't been here, busy the last few days. Darrell putting in sprinkler system in the backyard (pop-up type on a timer). Other than a nice day in SLC on Thursday, he spent all day Wednesday working on it. New restaurant in town (FINALLY!! So sick of fast food & Applebees--D won't go there, bad service 3 times in a row!!) called Sostanza. It is owned by a friend named Sprios who owns Jim's in town (like Denny's, but smaller chain here) Food was FANTASTIC!!! I had Filet Mignon, D had chicken, delicious!! Just opened this week for dinner only (by reservation for now))...VERY nice atmosphere too!!
That's about all for now, everyone take care!! Will try to check in later...tough to remember everything with 6 pages missed in one day!!
TTFN!

Good morning all.
Get well Stella and Richard.
Nice to hear from you Susan.
My 3 days off just flew.I saw the 2 kids and all the Grandies. The boys had a lovely day and party.
Funnily,I was shopping with Greg on Thur and mentioned if he wanted to get me something for my birthday,a new purse would be great.
All day yesterday,I felt like something was in my eye. This morning,it was completely closed and swollen when I woke up.It is open now but still feels like something is in it.Cant juggle my glasses enough to see.
Hi Suzanne..so you are getting a new sprinkler system also.Personally,I enjoy hand watering, gives me "Me time",and I put the sprinkler on trees with a timer as I always forgot to turn them off.
The new eatery would make a beaut change from take-away.

Might it be conjunctivitis, Nola? When I get it, it feels like something VERY irritating is in the eye. Please be careful. Your eyesight is very important.

Greg made it to Taree although a few times he thought he wouldn't.One road was blocked for hours from fallen trees and he said the rain down there was unbelievable.Flooding was supposed to be bad last night around Kempsey.
