Well, I am tired, I've been over stressed today, and my back and leg are killing me. I think I shall go to bed early, so y'all, and for being such great friends.

Good thing I saved this, timed out, aggghhhhh!

GOOD NIGHT HEIDI! Hope your back and leg are better with some rest.

About time for me to get to sleep also, I keep going to bed earlier and earlier! 9 pm is early for me, but I guess I need the sleep or I would not be sleeping so much more than I was, ya think?

We had more rain today, spoiled the playing outside for the kiddies with Christmas toys. OH, the ferral neighbors behind us, I think someone there got a new loud toy for Christmas. And a big box of ammo to go with it! Yes, som eone ws out by 10 am shooting a couple of guns, and one of them was louder than normal, sounded like an elephant gun, and we do not have elephants here! At least at 10 am, one could hope they were not mixing alcohol and gunpowder! Scared our kitties, all 3 were in the back yard and at the first shot of that loud one, they collectively jumped straight up in the air, and then headed for the back porch, their "safe place". (Back porch has gates and pickets around the porch, keeps the dogs away.) I got the girls inside and tried to convince boy kitty that under the house was a better safe place than the open toward the neighbors place back porch. Yes, it is legal to shoot here, nothing you can do about gunshots unless they hit your property or someone. Rural living for you, I guess you take the good and the bad.

Isn't Boxing Day great! No pressure, no stress - just all the left-over food, especially the desserts that everyone looked at yesterday and just moaned feebly .... "Can't eat! Exploding!" Rob apparently did not even taste any of the desserts yesterday (too full of cheese and dips and turkey).... today I found him singing a merry song as he piled his plate with cheesedake and raspberry flummery. He looked so happy I just had to join him! Eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we diet! ;)

Hi Judy, lots of people travel on boxing day! Can't imagine that - I need the day to recover... I try to stay home that day anyway because we live in a tourist area and the roads are insane.

Looks like Heidi's day has had a turn for the better. MizT has been having so much fun she needs to sleep. Bean had breakfast at dinner time. And you didn't eat any desert yesterday. We didn't either, about to serve some up now!

We will be having leftovers for dinner this eve..

The van is packed other than my clothes.. will do that presently.

The House is tidy and clean, Christmas 2008 packed away, Washing done and put away.

The Cherubs have been told.. to have the house clean and tidy, all clothes washed/ironed and put away before I get home from Holidays.

I think I might be whistling in the wind, if I ask for the Pantry and Fridge/Freezer to be stocked as well !!!

Suzy, many many ( well maybe not that many) years ago, we used to travel on Boxing Day to holiday destination.. finally confinced 'His Nibs' that the next day would be a better day to travel.
It did make for a stressful Christmas Day.. having to pack up Christmas Night ready to leave early the next day !!

Rolanda - have a great holiday!

I'm sitting here playing Tetris and eating shortbread and homemade caramel, while the family is watching my least favourite "comedy" show - is anyone else around?

Mmmm, your homemade pavlova was delicious! And fruit too - that's a really healthy meal there! My daughter brought a huge pile of prawns back from her fiance's place, and Rob decided to turn the remains of the ham into ham steaks with pineapple, so that was their dinner. Personally I needed red meat (don't want to swoon again!) so had very festive chops and veg - followed by more cheesecake and flummery. Oh food, glorious food! We shall pay for this in days to come! ;)

Well, we did also do a lot of walking (around the shops!) - got myself a huge pile of DVDs and Rob looked at big TVs. I think he was overcome by jealousy after seeing your great TV room - hey, he's a guy: everything has to be bigger, louder, faster! Don't know how it will fit into our family room, but he wants it, oh yes indeedy ! ;)
