Good morning lovely SA7 people.
to Brenda's daughter Emily. Hope you have a great day.
Thanks to those who wished my Grandie Maddie H/B for yesterday. She had a great party and we adults were treated to several impromptu concerts from Maddie and her cousins singing songs from Abba, High School Musical, Hannah Montana, Pink and the Veronicas. Oh so loud!!

It sounds like everybody had a blast, even if everybody didn't have ear plugs.

I decided to bid on a pair of Finches again. The same seller offered more for sale. The other breeder I was talking to told me that he would have to charge me $300 just to ship the birds to me. That's besides his $175 selling price. No thanks.

Heidi - I wouldn't admit this to the girls, but earplugs would have been nice. But they had a ball and isn't that what a party is for?
Next Saturday we have ANOTHER party because I'm 61 on Friday and Andrew is 38 on Sunday - so we're having a joint party.

My daughter, SIL, Lachlan and Maddie are on a plane heading for Melbourne for a short holiday. Because I hate flying, I really hate it when my family are in the air so I will be relived when she texts me that they've arrived.
(A mother's prerogative, I told her.)

CynB, I hope you get the text message soon. I know what it is like to worry about family when they are flying.

Afternoon all! Just back from coffee with friends and planning to do ffuts. I was talking to hubby this morning and almost said 'ffuts' instead of 'stuff'. He would have had no idea what I was talking about!!

Cyn, I hope they have arrived. The party sounds like it will be wonderful.

Hi everyone,
Mariana, I don't pay attention to college football. I agree the undefeated team should be named champion. I just made the comment because of Heidi's gator avatar.

Judy, kosher salt is a coarser grain salt than normal table salt. It gets its name (I think) because it is used to help make meat kosher. "Kosher" is the word for Jewish dietary laws. This is the best I can explain it and it is probably more than you wanted.

Whew - the plane arrived safely. Now I can relax until they fly back on Wednesday.
Bean - I didn't realise we'd been partying that much, but, when you think of it, our family has just been reunited and we have had Chloe's birthday mid-Dec, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, Maddie's birthday and now Andrew's and mine next weekend. It does seem like party-central at the moment. School is back on 27th - no more birthdays until 20th Feb so we'll slow down. I must admit to being exhausted!!! (I need an exhausted smiley - off to look)

CynB, I am tired just reading everything you did. But at least you are tired for a lot of good reasons. Glad the plane landed safely and you can stop worrying. My mom is the same way when we travel. Even when we drove to Disney World, which is 4 hours away, she made us call when we got there.

CynB, I understand your concern about family traveling. We have had a policy for years (started back when I was in college, I think, and we called our parents when we reached our destination. Our kids learned the same procedure, and we also let them know when we're traveling that we have arrived safely.

Heidi may be feeding the dogs - or feel asleep after eating her pizza. Hopefully it wasn't while she was eating pizza.

Heidi, I hope your back and mouth are feeling better. Since you were planning to eat pizza for dinner, I'm assuming your tummy is better today.

I agree with Bean! Cyn B, your celebrations sound like such fun, and you have waited long enough to have them! You're just making up for lost time in a short period of time.

Tami.... I also heard through a nutritionist that kosher salt also has more of the natural minerals that we need than regular table salt, so more flavor. MUCH more flavor.

I need to go check on that large rectangular object that mixes water, soap, and dirty clothes. Hopefully it's time to move clean clothes to the large rectangul hot tumbly object.

Hi all. Been a while since I've been here. Part my fault, part not. Finally got caught up on all the pages that I missed (50+).

The first half of Christmas was good, the rest I want to forget.

We stayed home New Year's eve and celebrated. Enjoyed not going out into the weather and check points.

Pulled a muscle in my shoulder while helping lift a neighbor out of his wheelchair. Told hubby that the next time I'll "search" the neighborhood for an able-bodied man.

I was watching a DVD while digesting the pizza. NOW I'm going off to feed dogs.
The mouth is feeling much better now. The back is slowly recovering too. I just have to be careful with it.

Becky! The only problem with that plan is that it may take a LONG time to find a man to help.

Didn't do a summary, but am trying to remember.

Bean, per your request, I put a photo of one of the gift baskets on my page.

Broni, hope your friend is doing ok. All my best to her.

Susan, glad to hear that your FIL came out of surgery and want to join in wishing him a good recovery.

Stella, how's Ian's foot? I don't remember you saying what the doc said. BTW, how's your shoulder?

Gail, sent you a PM.

Heidi, think we should get together and buy you a Michelin man suit. Hope you're feeling better.

To everyone who had a birthday, please accept my late wishes. Sorry I missed your day.

I'm trying to decide what to do next on my long list of things to do, and have almost decided that reading my book is far more important than pushing the hot slidy thing around.... someone talk me out of it please....

Cyn, we have a family rule that you have to send a text saying you have arrived safely if you are driving more than 45 minutes to get to where you are going. It's a good rule!

Julie, watch out for those rectangular objects! They have a way of insinuating themselves into your life so that when you neglect them make you pay by hiding all the clean underwear, thereby forcing you to pay them attention...

Suzy, i have just been watching a movie instead of pushing that slidy thing. Shoul9d go and do it now. Took Hubby 20 minutes to keepturning over and over the pile of clothes awaiting before he (I mean I came) and found his bowls shirt! I do not htink he was game to complain or he would have been told I was not the only one who was able to use it!
