Hehe June, my hubby doesn't ask me to push that hot slidy thing around either. Unfortunately half the time he will wear things straight out of the basket too - not noice at all!

hehe...when Pete asked me to marry him I replied...
"as long as you know I can't iron [slight distortion of the truth..] and have no intention of learning..."
He caught me out on my lie when I taught him how to iron and he still irons his own shirts...even ironed Lachies for the wedding way back in March

and now that someone has finally arrived I have to go and have a nap....catch you later...

Thank you ladies - I'm pleased that it's not just me who like to know that my family has arrived somewhere safely. My daughter couldn't complain because when we flew to Perth she insisted we text her when we arrived.

Bean - my mother always told me never to learn how to operate a lawn-mower or else I'd get the job for life so I never did. Passed that advice on to my daughter too. My son must have overheard because his wife mows their lawn!!
Ironing, however, is another thing - if I tried to leave it my hubby, he would wear crumpled clothes.

Sorry I missed you Becky, but we're glad you're back! Take care of yourself!

Nah, Suzy.... the guilt trip seems to be over. He was supposed to feed the critters for me the day I had the epidural, and he "forgot".

Woke this morning to rain showers. checked weather map, in our whole state, it is only raining in 2 counties, and I live near the boundary line between those two. Raining just for me today? Well, we can handle a bit more rain here better than the northern counties. Some of the lakes on rivers up there are up many feet above flood level, and summer homes along the lakes are being threatened or flooded.

I think I will go back to bed. Hubby and cats are still asleep, maybe I should be also hehehe

I won't experience any struggle posting...sounds like that has been going on a bit lately.
I am off this morning to a friend's memorial service. She (Vivian) was the most sweet and funny woman who had been in Al-Anon for ages. Her daughter died of cancer a few months ago and it just broke her heart. She had a stroke a short time later. Now her husband and the son-in-law are left behind...so sad.
This memorial will be heavily attended as she was loved by so many.

Then I'm off to Babes tonight...White Elephant theme. I'm bringing this humongous all-in-one remote that Mike gave me as a gag gift for Christmas. I'm sweetening the deal with a box of wonderful Merci chocolates that my niece brought back for me from Europe. I need to get off the stuff!

Watched a totally cool show on the National Geographic channel called "In the Womb: Cats"...
there is also a version which I am recording about dogs. It was amazing, they had inside the womb footage of the development of house cats, lions and cheetahs!
Of course it's no surprise that I'm all about the cats!

Well - looks like I'm just here babbling to myself...so I'll CP and head on over to the puzzles. to all you dear SA people!

Just a quick pop in here. Good Morning, SA7ers! We have had about 9 or 10 inches of snow since yesterday - and it's STILL snowing! We are supposed to drive 2 hours each way to a family get-together, the first time in about 14 months that all six sibling and spouses have been together.
Now, off to do some ffuts!

I was up at 3:30, Julie! ...but it took me awhile to clear my head and get on line.
I sure wish it were snowing like that here...do love the snow. All of ours is mostly melted now...and it looks like we'll have temps in the 60's this coming week.

I love to be able to sleep in, but this'n was interrupted by a solitary clap of thunder right over the house. At 8 am. Once I calmed the dogs down, I went back to sleep.
I cannot believe that you get up so early, Vici! I mean, why even go to bed?

That solitary clap of thunder/ lightning knocked out IH's computer (not the new laptop). It's fried. He's too cheap to buy a good surge protector, like mine, to prevent this.

Heidi, I guess IH really is an I. The first thing I buy when I get a new toy is a surge protector. It is a cheap insurance policy.

Suzy, I know how you feel about the kitchen. I do not keep a kosher house, everything here gets mixed up. My SIL does keep a kosher home so if we go over for dinner we can not bring food. I usually bring wine, centerpiece or whatever else she happens to need. For Thanksgiving, it was baskets for nuts, etc.

I know, Tami. When I bought this computer, I also bought the best surge protector I could find. It even has a back-up battery, so if the power goes out, I can stay online. I have lost count of the number of computers that IH has fried. More than 1 a year. And he still hasn't learned.

Some people just never learn. My kids got a Wii for Chanukah, before it was hooked up I went out and bought them a surge protector. All my tv's etc are on surge protectors.

Lightning storms are a fact of life in Florida. I will not risk it.

The funniest happened about 25 years ago. Lightning struck the house and blew my tv set ON. The only way to turn it off was to unplug it. When I tell people this story they think I am joking. The tv was off until the lightning strike.
