I will be back later. Hubby is home today so we are going to take the boys to a park to play. If we tire them out now, maybe they will behave tonight.

We are on the highest point between Louisville and Nashville. The power company says this farm gets more lightning strikes than any of their other customers. If there is a thunderstorm within 25 miles, we WILL get a strike.

HI TAMI, and I would believe you about the lightning turning your TV on forever. It can do very strange stuff. We were hit twice recently. Firrst time it got into about 4 different computers, and yes, we had surge protectors on the electricity, but we think it came in over the phone lines! Not the same thing was hit at every computer location either. Got printer at one, and the router at another location, and I forget what all else, I think it got the cat5 cable that connected them and it got modems, no single computer was totally fried, no hard drives or such so no information was lost, but it was a mess.

Heidi, perhaps you should make a gift to hubby of a good surge protector to keep down the lightning strikes. One day, it could start a fire and damage YOUR stuff.

I will not do all his thinking for him. He's lost his hard drive several times, with all his billing and business data. And he doesn't use back-ups. If he can't learn anything from that, why should I help him?

Heidi, if IH is a vet, he's actually quite smart. I'm thinking the common sense gene missed his family tree...

No, he's not a Vet. He's a Veterinary scientist. Research. (and, in my opinion, not very good at it because he always gets a theory first, and only pays attention to the facts that fit his theory.)

It is a miserable day out, and I've decided to postpone my errands until tomorrow. Foggy, with a steady rain.

Getting ready to take supper over to SIL's. Last night it snowed, turned to sleet, now raining and foggy. Supposed to be a mix later.

Back from my friend's memorial...it was one of the best I've ever been to. Lots of tears and laughs - great stories shared. I feel pretty filled up right now.

Interesting reading today...Surge protectors are really life savers...as Miz T pointed out lighting starts fires...Heidi, I can understand not doing what he seems to
chose not to do for himself, but common sense certainly seems to be missing in his case, as has also been pointed out...Do the poor guy a favor that he doesn't even realize that he needs...buy him a good surge protector and save yourself and your stuff from his ineptness....Its the smart thing to do.

He once bought himself a surge protector ( a cheap one), but never installed it. And I have talked to him 'til I'm blue in the face about the importance of surge protectors. He'll agree with me, but not do a thing about it.

As I sit here, dozing off, I'm thinking about taking a nap before feeding.

I have a laptop issued by my school. I very rarely even take it home. It completely crashed yesterday. Lost all my data. Luckily most if it is saved to a flash drive. I will be without my laptop for a while as they don't have any to lend me. It is about 5 years old so I guess it is about time. It feels like a trusted friend is gone.
