Yes Heidi they know how dumb and dumber they are (although I try to protect them when they are at their dumbest), just cannot believe how they can invent new ways to prove it hehe!

Broni it's hard to imagine anyone that casual about work and responsibilities choosing to start their own business in the first place!

Thanks for you concern Heidi, but I can walk away at the end of the day and forget about it all. See what caring gets you, another TOPP hehe! Think you have caught me again Heidi.

Broni - that is just not good enough. There is nothing worse than irresponsible business owners who don't look after their business or their employees properly. I've known some in my time.
This seems to apply to both of them.
What can you do? Are you on the lookout for something better and closer to home?

OK gotta go, just needed to vent to someone who understood.
Zusy, it took them 3 years of monthly losses to realise they had a problem, go figure!

I got something really cool in the mail today. It's a 1940 action/ adventure serial (15 weekly episodes shown in movie theaters) of The Shadow!!! Starring Victor Jory. Almost 5 hours long. I'm drooling with anticipation.

Heidi - I used to love those movie serials. It used to be a big production going to the movies when I was a child. It was always a double feature with an interval. It used to start with God Save the Queen, we are part of the British Commonwealth and everyone had to stand up. Then there would be the newsreel, followed by the first, usually B rated movie. Interval, cartoon (road-runner or Bugs Bunny), serial and then the main feature. Soft drink and potato crisps or ice cream at interval. And it all cost two shillings (20c) circa 1957. Those were the days, my friend!

Just popping in again before flinging food. Broni, I'm aghast. D & D are even worse than previously imagined! They're almost as bad as . . . gasp . . . government - just more and more bills to pay and nothing collected to pay them.

I can remember seeing a B-rated western that must have been done on a shoe-string budget. In a fight scene, the baddie fell against a rock - that MOVED. Didn't spoil the enjoyment but I can still see it. I used to love the old shoot em up westerns. I recently watched 'The Assassination of Jessie James etc' with Brad Pitt. It was dark and sombre and probably more true to what happened but not nearly so entertaining.

All those movie serials were on shoestring budgets.... which made them funny as h*ll.... but still great entertainment. I already have one of the better ones (in my opinion), The Phantom Empire, with Gene Autry. Boy, did those cardboard sets wiggle, though.

Not too much damage here overnight. The rain is easing. We've had 436mm (17") this year, half of which fell yesterday, which explains why I got bogged in our yard. Some small trees and portable garages etc. are down, and our yard is a mass of leaves. Most of the district has no power. That'll fix the greedy bread buyers - going to get very stale without freezing it!

Stopping in for a quick hi and bye. I am going to bed early. My vote is for Jewel, with Johnny Depp a very close second. ( I watched 21 Jump Street also) Johnny Depp is actually from here. He went to Miramar High School which is about 15 minutes from where my parents live. He recently played a benefit concert here. He was in a local band, and played the benefit in memory of one of the people who helped his band get bookings locally.

What an interesting election you have going Cyn..
Well...I am happy to share myself around amongst the lot of them...because I do not want to share any of them..[yep...being greedy here...] I will settle for Clive because I have seen him in a few things and I just love the way he looks at you...primary instinctive vote was of course for Jewel...

Well, I've been without Internet for several hours and was nearly going crazy! Not that I'm addicted or anything, I can give it up any time I want ... just like chocolate .... Mmmmm, chocolate! ANYway, I'm back! And no-one's here. Ho-hum! I'm just sitting here, on the Group W bench ..., twiddling my thumbs and talking some kind of crazy talk. Yes, it's been one of those days, and now I'll go back to uploading pretty pictures. :)

Hi Judy! It IS quiet here.
The dogs are finishing their dinners now, so I'll be leaving soon to watch an episode or 2 of the movie serial. That means signing off for tonight. So..... everybody!

CynB I've just realised that I have seen Clive, and did think he was a very impressive actor, though not drop-dead gorgeous like some of the others. The movie was called "Children of Men" and was great, though very harrowing - don't see it if you're after a little light entertainment!

Hi everyone.

Cyn B, think I'll go with Clive, too. Was going to vote for Jewel, but the poor thing got edged out at the last minute.

I wasn't born yet, but remember watching the Thin Man movies, Our Gang, Abbott and Costello, and Laurel and Hardy on Sundays with my mom. Got to admit, I'd rather watch an "classic" movie than a lot of the stuff that's out there nowadays.
