No Dame Edna, I'm still here. I'm just so happy to be able to post that I selfishly nabbed another TOPP - 2 in a row.

Well - if you read my comments earlier about hubby starting another business, accountant says it's a goer. So we're getting everything into gear while Colin works out his notice which he will give in the morning. Yahoo!

Cyn, I popped over to your page earlier today, was goiung to do some more 'Thank You' visits, but got distracted!
Had a quick squizz in your photo gallery.
The photo of your family is just beautiful, especially knowing what is behind it. A lovely scene of family love.

BTW - I'm still retired. This will be HIS business, I will be his dependant. I'm 61 in 3 1/2 hours as my grandaughter just reminded me and I have worked from when I was 17 with 6 years off while my kids were small. I done my time.

That should read 'I've done my time'. My dear old Mum would be mortified at my grammar.
Yes, eaa, I was writing that post while you were asking the question.

That was the other thing!!!

Huge 'GOOD LUCK' to both you and hubby on the next phqase of your lives. How exciting for you both.
I know when hubby and his business partner started their business, we went in with our eyes open and a flutter in our hearts. I was their first (and only) 'employee'! Now it is a small family based company that employs several people.
I know now that my hubby has had a taste of being his own boss, he could never go back.

Got distracted by a phone call - my middle daughter telling me they've started looking at houses to buy. I could actually see the one they're interested in via the Internet - the wonders of the Steam Age! It looks very flash, even has a bidet!

That is how we found this place Judy back in 02. It certainly was a very useful tool, even back then, especially seeing as we lived on the opposite side of the city. I would scour the internet all week and then we would come for a drive on the weekend and look at all the ones I'd shortlisted. It meant that we got to know the layout of the towns and some of the streets and schools, which was an important consideration then.

Dear friends, I have just gone back and read a couple of the days I have missed, and may I say, you guys are the best. I had not read anything after my final post last Thursday night until I returned Sunday night, and I am heartwarmed by your very kind words on the day of Mum's service,
I do not think the service was videoed, but we will all be receiving a cd of it, once my oldest sister has copied it for us all. She was a printer in a previous profession, so I know the whole thing will be presented beautifully.
I am sorry I have not mentioned much about the service, I didn't want to be a downer all the time.
Mybe I will post about it on my page...tomorrow.

Gail, hope your son's injury is healing well.
You are not being a "downer" if you want to talk about your Mum and the funeral - we are your friends, and if you need to talk then we are here to listen. Wish we could do more to help!

You are doing more than I could ever say Judy.
I am in the process of composing a post on my page about the service now. As usual when I write anything, it is going on! Always had that trouble when writing essays too!

OH GAIL, what a lovely sendoff your family provided for your Mom. You did a lovely job of setting it in writing for all of us to read. Thank you so much for sharing with us. I feel honored to be able to read about such a touching and lovely service.

HUGS DEAR GAIL!

...thanks for all the warm wishes re: my back. I was reasonable about the amount of work I did yesterday and feel pretty good today. Part of the reason I didn't over-do was that I had to move a bunch of cr*p that was piled up where I needed to dig. That took a bit of time and actually was a blessing in hindsight.
