Thank you for asking Brenda. I believe they have healed well. I have not had a chance to see him since just after the funeral. Hubby said he was going to see the dentist last week about the broken tooth. I will give son a ring tonight and find out how he is...in fact, I will invite them over for dinner one night this week and I can see for myself.
I have been living under the motto 'No news is good news' so that's what I am hoping!

SUZY, Hugs to you and to Ally both. I am amazed, only 4 hours to get that tended in 2 different hospitals? Oh my, they were speedy. Happy to hear she is a good patient, that is a big plus. I know you are a wreck today, from being awake and from worrying about your baby girl. Try to get some rest today if you can. Now just what was she doing when she broke it?

Good evening all!

Suzy, I hope Ally feels better! I know what a toll that whole ordeal can be. That's a good time though, 4 hours from break to bed! It would take a lot longer here!

Susan, I hope you are OK! Thoughts and prayers that the rain has stopped and the water is receding!

Heidi, glad to hear you're ok. Hope you don't get hit by this latest storm. Good luck with the baby calf. I hope the weather doesn't effect it.

HI GAIL, HI BRENDA, good to see someone here on the playground.

Many thanks for the kind coments about the gift bags. I need to make some smaller ones, like the smallest in the photos, that is a good size for a lot of things. But, the blocks I had were larger, and used up what I had first. well, not all I had, there are some larger blocks, just need something smaller. I do have one more, a kitty cat block and found kitty Christmas Fabric, so that is next.

The picking of fabric is one of my favorite things to do. I call it having fabrics audition. If I cannot decide between 2 fabrics, I call Al for help. He does have a minor in art from college. He chose the spring green Batik fabric, and it was the right choice.

I am lucky to have a nice stash of fabric. Smaller pieces were often gifts from other quilting buddies, we sent "fat quarters" for birthday and Christmas within our group. Larger pieces, well, I had a nice fabric shop that had a really good sale table, and when on sale, I bought if it was good quality. I often found fabric for $1 a yard. Notice that is past tense, not gonna happen now. I still have a few yards, not as many as most of my quilting friends, but a lot.

HI STELLA! I guess you do know a bit about sports injuries, so many youngsters playing sports.

We are having another shot of cold, would you please come and pick up your weather that escaped and found it's way here?

I must fling food now, it is later than I realized.

CYN, can you forward photos from Susan to me please? I must not be on her mailing list or else AOL decided I did not need that piece of mail.

Finally got the Christmas tree down! Will have to go out in the morning to make sure I didn't miss any ornaments.

Bryana called this afternoon all bubbly even though she has a cold. She got the results from her midterm exams last week and she got all A's. This was especially good in Chemistry since the average grade was a 63!

Well the news is pretty alarming today!
Hope Ally has a speedy recovery, poor kid!
Hope Susan doesn't lose power, and the water goes down soon. I'm not sure exactly where Susan lives, but in Normanton "a 4m crocodile had been seen stalking residents and dogs in the flooded main street."! Also "the town was expected to run out of beer in two days."!!
Hope Heidi, Gil and the remaining animals stay safe and the power is back on soon.
Gail - lightning! Now that's a shock! Sorry about your trees, glad your neighbours were ok.

Back for a couple of minutes. We were so lucky to get Ally in so quickly. I drove her, so no wait for an ambulance - that could have added several hours. Basically I parked in the police spot, walked her into casualty and said 'its a REALLY bad break'. They took one look at it and she was inside before I'd even done the paperwork. I ran out and moved the car, then ran back in, she was already in a cubicle. Painkillers, she didn't even cry until the pain killers didn't work immediately then she shed a handful of tears. More painkillers. Xrays. Finally a doctor - 'I'll call Wollongong' (no onduty obstetrician at the local hospital), I insisted they try the private hospital. Wollongong is over an hour away - what are they, sadists??? Took some nagging, but they made the phone calls. The ob-guy was just finishing his last surgery when they called so he and his crew just waited back for us - were standing at the door when we arrived. Wheeled to a room asking me questions and filling out forms on the way, changed into a gown, gone to theatre. I answered more questions while they were doing that. Signed my life away without glasses on all night so hope I haven't screwed up. Recovery took longer than the surgery.

In the middle of all that were a bunch of phonecalls to Mum, hubby and coach arriving at the hospital, hubby taking ebob home for dinner around 9.30, hubby coming back with my dinner around 10.30...

And just now we were pulling into the driveway when Ally started screaming and screaming. HUGE huntsman on the inside of her window. She twisted and turned trying to get away from it and has hurt her arm. I'm off to call the doctor....

BTW - I hope noone comes to visit Ally! One night and the house looks like a bomb hit it!!!

PS - I read a news story about the storms in Queenland while I was waiting for pages to load - it isn't good for Susan!! Her town is the worst hit, many evacuated, and the new cyclone is headed her way...

Not reading, but Suzy's comment caught my eye. Noooooooooo!!!!! Please say it's April 1st!!!!. I was watching it yesterday when they said there was potentially a cyclone developing. The water peaked at 75 cm under our house at 2am, then I went to bed for the first time since I got up early (for work, lol) Monday morning. It's dropped 2cm, just a few cm short or our lowest power point. We were very lucky. Hubby has been using our boat to take food to people, rescued a couple and is keeping an eye on a deaf lady just a few "streets" away who has nobody.

If I remember everything correctly:
Suzy, really sorry to hear about Ally's arm. Hope she is feeling better soon.
Susan, hoping for the best with all the water.
Heidi, great to hear from you. Will keep you in my thoughts.
Brenda, hope you are enjoying all the snow.
Another cold front coming through down here also. I wish you northerners (Julie, Stella) would keep the cold where it belongs. I don't want it.

Thank you for the laugh Susan! I think I'll take that bet!! I just walked into the kitchen to make myself a cup of coffee, turned around and walked right back out again. There is even left over grated cheese on the cutting board from hubby's home made burritos!

Oh Suzy, I sound so selfish by my above post. I just read about Ally. I wish that I could say or do something to help. You have it MUCH worse than I do right now.

Suzy, Mitchell broke his arm about 1 1/2 years ago. He timed it perfectly, 1 week before the end of school. Luckily it was not a bad break and he was a trooper about it. It hurt me a lot more than it hurt him. You don't truly understand until you have kids but there pains hurt mom more. Get a good night sleep, things will be better in the morning.

Suzy, do you have 3 fridges, 2 freezers, 2 TVs, Nintendo, stereo, volleyball set, vacuum cleaner, giant stuffed monkey, about 10 drawers, boxes of DVDs and tapes, dog food, TV unit (and wait, there's more!!!) in your kitchen and dining room? I won't even begin with what's in the lounge and study...... lol Gee I've missed these pages.

lol Susan - I only own one fridge and one freezer.. I got around not looking at the kitchen, which would have meant I'd have to clean it right now, by asking Ebob to make me a cup of coffee! Me not stoopid!!

Tami, Ally has chosen the first week of school!! I'm trying to imagine how she is going to carry her backpack around - those high school bags weigh a tonne. Hers is a bad break, well 2 breaks, but it was clean and uncomplicated so should heal well. I can't go to sleep yet - expecting phone calls from doc, coach, and organiser of the singing thing Ally is doing on Saturday. Then I have to tutor someone - guess I should prepare something. Tomorrow I will attack the mess.

Heidi's venting will be interesting though! Rather than the overtired ravings of a mother who wasn't even injured herself!
