Good Maen Sudokuland! It is a sunny clear crisp day today, with freezing weather expected tonight and tomorrow. Brrrr, I will get out the WINTER clothes once again!

Nope, have not heard from Heidi, did not phone her yesterday. Today is their "hoped for" day for power. I do hope it happens today. I think they are having snow again today, but not freezing rain. Some wind warnings for when another cold front comes through their area, hope THAT is not severe enough to do any damage to trees and power lines again.

Thinking of Susan and the flooding, I do hope water begins to recede and you do keep power. Stay dry, stay safe.

Brenda, our local governments have same philosophy, a really big snow storm happens so seldom, here, no need for snow plows. we wait till it melts! People with 4 wheel drive trucks and chains and a cooler of beer in the back are out on roads running patrol to help stranded motorist, and find a store open to buy more beer hehehe.

Everybody. I'm still alive!!!! Tho' we still have no power, heat or water, and won't for several more days. I'm using a public PC in town, and only have a few minutes on it. I left IH at home manning the fireplace to keep the house warm. The only other time I tried that, he fell asleep and let the fire go out.
The novelty has warn off. I want to rejoin the 21st century.
I don't have time to read any posts that I've missed, but I thank everyone for your good wishes. Every little bit helps.
Our first calf of the season was born this morning I need to get back soon to check it out closely. I've already seen it nurse from a distance, but I needed to get to town to buy feed for critters, and some food for me.
I'll check back in in a few days.

Beanie - So glad you had such fun with "the other Vickie" (Victoria)...wish I could have been there when you, Tracy and Victoria were gathered. Of course I would have been lost with all the Aussie lingo and accents!

Hi to you, too, Vici! It is depressing with all the losses from the cold. And I had a good cry over losing Faith. She was a special old girl.

Hi MizT, we have this type of snow once a year, not quite as much as this or a widespread and this part of the country grinds to a halt. A couple of years ago Richard got caught out in a different town driving the Lexus, the worst car we have to use in snow, he had to abandon the car at the bottom of a hill (trucks were stuck half way up) he then had to walk to the railway station, get the train into London and then one back out to Stevenage. The town he was in was about 25 miles from home. It took him from 3:00pm until 12:30pm to get home, I had to pick him up from the station to get him home. We then had to go to retrieve the car the next day after having informed the police where we had abandoned it.

Hello Brenda, Nola and Julie - you are all probably gone now - I'm headed out shortly myself.
Susan - I was just stunned by the photos of your house...but I did get a chuckle of your daughter in the floaty tube with her feet up on the mail box. What a doll!
The streets around your mum's farm were amazing - can't believe the water was that deep and your mum is above that level. Keep positive thoughts for you.

Good morning lovely SA7 people.
Just checking in quickly before I go out to get my Mum's tax prepared (should have been done months ago but I'm slack). Glad I did, so nice to see Heidi posting, but still a way to go before everything is back to normal there. And I wanted to catch up on Susan's news - oh dear, rising floodwaters with crocs in them! Hope the flooding has peaked. Got her email with the pics - that's a lot of water!!

Ally decided to try gymnastics again last night. I'm never letting her near it again!! She broke both bones in her lower left arm - and how! Quick trip to casuality, followed by quick trip across to private hospital, surgery and plaster cast.... 4 hours from break to bed! She is the best patient I have ever seen. I am exhausted! We stayed the night at the hospital because by the time the observations the anaesthetist wanted were done we were an overnight according to the insurance company anyway. I managed to doze between 2 and 5am. Ally dozed between midnight and 6am - minus observation wake up calls. We are now headed over town to get her some pain killers.... more later.
