Julie, Groundhog Phil speaks only for the NORTH part of the USA. Birmingham Bill did not see his shadow, we will have an early spring! It is raining here, we had a wet groundhog day.

Here is your coffee Julie, and Yes, I was having a sleep in, sort of. I woke about regular time, IMed with a couple of friends, then went back to bed. It is cool, damp, and all the critters and hub were asleep, why not?

hello everyone. it''s been a few days. i see everyone is doing ok despite mother nature being a drama queen. thanks for the heidi update mizt. and heidi.. SA just isn't the same with out some heidi stories!

i'm buzzing around today. mostly i am mom the taxi. right now i need to do much futts in order to erase all signs of our super bowl party. what i really want to do is eat the rest of the snacks and read a book. dang! why do i have to be responsible and do what i don't want to do?? oh, well. off i go.

Our home is an island. Very little of our yard is still above water. This is not fun. No sleep tonight.

Susan, I'm thinking dry, sandy, arid thoughts for you! I hope you don't get any more rain and that standing water quickly recedes!

Nola, "bangs" are a portion of hair at the top front of the head that is cut shorter than the rest of the hair - usually somewhere between mid-forehead and eyebrow. Some of the Hollywood stars have been getting their hair cut with bangs. The first one that comes to mind is Reese Witherspoon.

Now, back to the ffuts.

Unfortunately Suzy we do live in the area effected by the snow, maybe not as badly as some areas. We have about 10" of snow and still snowing

Brenda I read that parts of England are crippled because this is more snow than you've had in a decade or two. Are you able to get around or are you stuck at home?

Susan, Hope all is well and the water starts to drop now. Rising water in one's home has to be more than unsettling. Take care and stay safe.

susan!! i am feeling for the clean up that is sure to follow the flooding. i hope nothing is ruined beyond repair, and that you and yours are safe!

brenda, i think england is much like our pacific northwest. it rains lots, but has fairly mild temps...not super hot or cold. seattle got a series of snow storms that completely dissabled the city. as it is so unusual to get snow that actually sticks, there are only a few snow plows. of course those just can't keep up. when i was there there was 18 in. of snow on the ground which turned into 12 in. or more of slush. then rain storms came and the already saturated ground caused major flooding. i hope it doesn't get too extreme for you!

Gail, I'm sorry to hear about the trees. Luckily the 2 neighbor ladies visited the doctor and checked out OK!

Susan, is the water still rising? I hope the rain has stopped! Fingers crossed for no major damage to things in your home. We're thinking positive thoughts for you!

Just looked outside.. it is white... we are covered in Fog, reasonably thick too.

Thought I would share another avatar - a photo of "Punxsatawney Phil," the weather prognosticator. Well, all they do is decide if he sees his shadow (6 more weeks of winter) or not (winter will end sooner).

Rolanda, when I read that you were covered in white, I thought the worst - snow. If you'll be going out, drive safely. Fog is not fun to drive in.

About to get ready to leave the house for water aerobics class.

Luckily, the temperature is nearing the freezing mark. I hate to walk to the car with wet hair in the winter.
