Okay Gail, you win. Cyn is the last person to post and Julie is the actual. Sigh. I can't even be successfully annoying today.

Why is it everything you have to pay for costs more than you expect? We just got a quote on some electrical work in our outdoor area and shed. We talked about it and decided it would be about $700 - thought we were a bit OTT, but it's better than underestimating. Not so, quote came to $1100. Would look elsewhere but this is a friend of hubby's nephew, he's reliable, thorough and giving us things at cost price. Oh dear! Ho hum! What's money, anyway?

I don't know Cyn. I haven't changed my status in ages - haven't thought about it. Probably from one of those days when I left the connection on while I did other things and turned my light off so people didn't think this was my whole life!!!

Just had a yummy dinner prepared by hubby. Giving Ally's pain meds a few minutes to kick in and we'll try the bath thing.
Cyn, it wouldn't let you or there were too many of them???

Susan, hope the water hasn't risen too high now and that you still have power. It's great to hear that your husband is helping people who are less fortunate than you. I don't know how I would cope with the predicament you are in. Fortunately the place I live doesn't have a river to burst it's banks so it would be very difficult for us to be flooded.
You are not the first person to mention the problems when renewing your membership here. Mine is due on the 7th, I pay using paypal so will wait and see if that goes smoothly.

Stella, not buried in snow at the moment. It started to melt yesterday but last night it froze solid so I think it will take a little while to go. The weather forecast for tomorrow is heavy snow again so we will wait and see what happens.

Hi Suzy, I needed the shower so I could wash my hair. As we no longer eat fried chips the amount of grease building up on my hair is no longer needed
I would prefer a bath but that takes about half an hour to fill so I could use the spa and I don't have that much time to waste.

You're right Gail, the number of posts and last person don't match! I've noticed a couple of times that after I posted and come back, there was a post in between my posts that wasn't there before!

Suzy, hope Ally is feeling a bit better!
We've had many breaks in my house. Meghan broke 4 bones across the arch of her foot a couple of days before starting jr/sr high school. It was an old small school with classrooms on 4 floors. It didn't have an elevator and she had to go up and down the stairs all day on crutches for her various classes. I still don't know how she did it!

On Oprah yesterday (I think it was an old repeat), they had money saving tips. One was to unplug any electrical stuff you're not using at the moment. One lady went from an electric bill of $268 a month to $64 when she unplugged everything. I could never unplug all of the stuff she did though, it would cause too much work. She unplugged her tv, vcr, computers, etc. It's bad enough reprogramming those when the power goes out, doing it every day would be a full time job! I'm going to unplug the stuff in the kids' rooms since they're not here.

STELLA, the weather site I use says it is cold cold in Magnolia KY. they are at 14F and the wind chill of 0 F ( -18C) KNOW that makes keeping warm with a fireplace and one space heater difficult. I think it will also hinder the repair crews, who can work at a normal pace when it is that cold?

I cannot get but the first of the photos in that gallery of 99, showing the flood! That one is totally unbelievable, such flooding.
Stella, I have read that every electrinic thing that has one of those little black boxes at the plug in pulls power 24/7 and it can add up. Cell phone chargers, Weather radio, computers, and even my recliner that has heat and massage!

I am concerned about our food we get from florida. They are under a wind chill warning. Temps will dip into the high 20's but that and then the wind will kill off produce and fruit and it looks like for the state, not just an isolated area.

I saw "Taken" on Monday for Ian's birthday. It kept me on the edge of my seat. Even though I am against killing(ie: death penalty), when you can imagine your own child in that situation, all bets are off. I kept saying, "kill the guy"! That's why it's best to keep revenge out of the justice system. It's a movie that probably all young people should see to make them aware that there really are sick people like that in the world. 15 or more years ago in my international law journal, there were articles about college girls on spring break being kidnapped in several regions. Some were for shieks, others were for remote parts of China. It's pretty scarey!
