Mandatory, Bean? Whew, I am glad I am in compliance and the fabric police will not come get me! I do not even try to contain the snippits, let them fall where they may, cause some are going to escape no matter how careful I am. I just get the small vacuum out and suck them all away. Just so happy I can walk out and close the door if necessary, and no one is the wiser.

Hi June - congrats on another TOPP.
I'm off now to see Mum and do more 'little things' necessary to get this business going. Col expects to start next week. Ad in local paper mid-week. Doing his first quote today for a man he used to work with at his last job.
Have a nice day and I'll be back this afternoon.

Ally is up and eating breakfast. Soon I will give her some more pills to stop the pain coming. Doc said to keep them going for at least 3 days before I test to see if she is pain free. I was baulking at giving her more codeine last night and she paid for it, so I will now follow the docs advice...
Off to do ffuts...

June - great to hear Ken is doing so much better...and I cannot believe the cost of taking a 3 year old to the aquarium - that's robbery!!! I think for things like zoos and aquariums (not parks like Disneyland, tho) kids under 5 are free or very close to free for admittance. Glad you girls had a fun day, though!

Suzy - I just love that you gave Ally a gentle hug from us...so nice to know all our concern can be conveyed by you in a hug - so sweet!
I remember the worst thing about a arm in a cast was when it was on the mend and itchy under the plaster - aaarrrggghhhh...it would drive me crazy! Hope Ally feels a bit better today.

Glad things are going relatively smoothly today. MizT, My mom is a little off. Where we are, the temp is supposed to be in the lower 30's with a wind chill of 25. As for the produce, the farmers will try to keep heaters going to keep the crops from frosting. Unfortunately, they won't know immediately if there is any damage.

Julie and Stella, I thought I told you to keep your cold weather up north. I live in Florida. I don't want temperatures in the 30's. If I did, I would live in New York.

HEIDI REPORT:
Heidi phoned me tonight, checking in. No power yet, nor any possibility till weekend, earliest. There are still 70% of their county without power. Nearby towns have power, but none of the farms. Only one power crew working to restore power, lots of crews across the state in Paducah and Murry.
The new calf is doing well, Cows are in the calving pasture. there is a stockade fence to act as a wind break, and there is a roofed shelter big enough for the entire herd, so all is well with them. There is a pond in that pasture also, so they have water.
Heidi is hauling water for the dogs and birds and other animals. they managed to get the living area up to 64 degrees with fireplace, but other areas not as warm even with the space heater run by generator.
All the animals are doing well, have not lost more. she could not get to the library and the public computers today, Gil was gone today so no one to mind the fire.
SUZY, Heidi asks that you give Ally a hug from her. she also asks if the DUGS could send a bit of warmth. single digit temps tonight ( -10 to -18 C) Tomorrow will be a bit warmer, almost up to 32F. Sends hugs to Susan and says be careful, that crocodile could be hungry!
She and Gil take turns going into town daily to get one meal, they are snacking for other meals. Grodery stores are open, so they can get things to eat without preperation.
all I can remember now, but Heidi sounds tired and is past ready for this to be over. She will try to get to library on Friday and check back in again, they have a one hour limit on the computers there.
Hope all is well, have not read, just wanted to get this on the board.

MzT - thanks for the report and thank you for conveying all our concerns to her. I can't even imagine how she is handling all of this with her mono...she must be exhausted.
Keeping everything crossed for power to be restored soon.

Suzy - that picture of Ally's xray made me cringe...she did it up good!
Can't believe the odd angle they have her arm plastered up into - I'm sure it is for the best healing possible, but wonder how she gets comfortable to sleep - pills for now, I guess.

I've just spoken to Susan and she says the flood waters are dropping. They are at the level of the bottom step. Unfortunately the water is bubbling up out of the sewerage manhole cover in the back yard (Yuk! Yuk!) together with the swimming cane toads (plus the odd snake and reports of crocodiles in the next street).
She sounds quite upbeat and said thanks for all your good wishes and concern. Her #2 son hopes the next cyclone keeps coming so he can have more time off school (typical teenage boy)!
Susan asked me to post here as well as easy for all who have asked about her.
