Ok will fill you all in now.
I think you all know I had a kidney removed five years ago to kidney cancer.
And I also have rheumatoid arthritis, that I take a lot of medication for, some of the medications can have side effects, so they have to keep an eye on a few things.
In the last month or so, some of my blood tests have been coming back with low counts.
I have had pain in the waist area, on the side that the kidney was removed, this rang alarm bells with my doctors.
I have had a xray and that led to a ct scan,
this has shown a problem in the sigmoid region of the bowel wall, so next is the colonoscopy, and thats in November.

I saw the surgeon yesterday.

but didnt want to say anymore than he is checking for ulcerative colitis or tumour,
of course the tumour bit scares the bejeebees out of me, but am going to stay positive and just wait and see...

thanks heaps, are we three hours in front of you now ?
am thinking of when I worked at Port Keats in the Northern Territory, an aboriginal community,
the guys would be catching the plane to Kunnunnurra, and ask me what time they would get there, with the time difference and flight time, I used to have so much fun in saying to them half an hour ago, and confuse the bejeebees out of them, it got to the stage that they thought better than to ask me. hehehehe

fellow SA6ers.
Still haven't read all the pages to catch up, but from what I gleaned on this page, both Liz and Broni are going in for a photo shoot, apparently not the glamour type one!
My thoughts to you both.

Well, I am up to page 135 and as usual, really shouldn't even be here!
I will return later tonight and try to catch up with the rest.
All the best Liz, see you next week.
Mariana, I am glad you like the idea of the date night. It started way back when our kids were younger and we didn't have two pennies to rub together. It has become a long standing tradition. We go the whole hog, make-up, perfume and candlelight. Very thrifty, although we do splurge on the menu these days.

I'm baaaaaaaack....
Tricia...that is similar to the sort of method that I use only I use 3 boxes...3rd box is for things I'm not really sure about. Things I'm not sure on or having trouble being ruthless with go in the undecided box. Otherwise I waste time with the 'will I, won't I' dilemma. Invariably when I return to that box it ends up in the bin.
Heidi...good news on the tractor...but tell IH about the generosity of the dealership! hehe
Mariana...how come you got ALL of those genes...
Ruby...that is a great idea with the books...I do pass them on to my MIL who is also a great reader. A lot of my books have cost between $50-100 and very dear to my heart...re and re read. The novels and auto's I'm not so bonded with but I've found if I hang onto them long enough I can reread them...one advantage of CRAFT's disease!!! The opportunity shop or school fete's are good depository's.
hehe..having such a giggle at all the 'box' people that are coming out of the closet!! It is becoming apparent I could open my door to one & all of the SA'ers without fear of censure...
Mama...I have that problem at times...I do understand
Heidi and Suzy...boxes are much tidier! Keeps the dust bunny's out of the junk.
Time for p140...

oh that's what i was going to say! i think it was mizt who read 1000 white women. i read it some time ago and really enjoyed it. it did get a bit greusome, but i felt i learned a lot and had a broader perspective when finished.
bean- what do you mean all those genes? are you refering to my neat freakishness? that IS genetic and i am glad i didn't get the worst of it! i just want to die of embarrassment if one of my aunts happen to drop by! will they see that i need to wipe down the baseboards??? probably!

hehe Suzy...won't demand a recount but i thought I was beating Gail...
Heidi is turning into stealthy little TOPP'er..one to watch out for.
June...ONLY 20 yrs of Christmas cards? hehe..no comment on the status quo here...My best friend was a kindred spirit but she had a whole farm to store her boxes...when she was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer she became a little obsessive about getting rid of all her junk so it wouldn't be left for her hubby and son to sort out. We all had to laugh at her funeral 8 months later when her hubby told us how he came home one day to be told that she had sorted out all the boxes of Christmas cards...she had managed to throw out all the envelopes...hmm, now there is a thought! Oh dear..now I'm all teary...

Most of the envelopes have gone as I generally put up the cards when they come. Could be more than 20 years worth.

Liz...was about to ask if you where ok but then you started posting....good luck with the photo shoot..will keep everything crossed for you. It is no wonder you tossed and turned all night...that sort news tends to provoke that response.
Liz and Tami I have also read the jokes all before but enjoyed another recycle. Tami my hubby loved the tale about the dog....think he woke the neighbours up laughing..
Gail...thank you for delving into the font of useful information [nearly said useless]...had wondered...
Ma...I did mean the clean/tidy gene...I have a friend like that...her house looks like a glossy magazine and when she decluttered I brought heaps back to my home...keep telling her that if she realises that she shouldn't have thrown certain items out she can always have them back....I volunteered to store some boxes for her when she was selling her house...you know the trick...empty your cupboards so they look larger..she declined because she thought she may never be able to find her stuff again amongst mine..

There are all the wedding cards, engagement cards, baby cards, some birthday cards.
I have family letters dating back to 1850's which were quite a treasure when I started to do some family history and traced the family back to Nova Scotia

Bean, I have stuff my son left when he moved to Melbourne about 4 years ago. Also stuff he brought back here when his marriage collapsed years before that.
We have a very large storeroom but that has a lot of baseball stuff hubby has collected.

June it was fascinating sorting out all of mum's junk....there was a rather poignant letter written to my dad when she only had 2 children .... now I know why she ended up with 7!! My sisters and I cried when we read it. It was so wonderful to be able to see my mum as a young and passionate women.
[Gotta confess I brought home some of the recipes that she had cut out of magazines...decided that this collecting/hoarding was genetic.]

I'm one of 6 children, and I think we all came home with BOXES! Well, the oldest, a brother, got to the house and took only what he and his older daughter wanted, then left the rest of the sorting/clean up to the rest of us.
