Could be, but my brain won't link them. I've looked for a DVD (when the girls were younger). I would have been disappointed if it had that verse in it though..

Why does a wobble board wobble?
Rod Cross, Sydney University, July 2006

The wobble board was made famous by Rolf Harris around 1960 when he used it as a backing for his song “Tie me kangaroo down”. A wobble board is just a thin, moderately stiff sheet that wobbles at a varying frequency. During one wobble burst, the frequency rises from about 100 Hz to about 500 Hz over a time duration of about 0.15 sec. Wobbling occurs when the board is driven at around 2 or 3 Hz, as shown in the wobble board movie. In the movie, a 1mm thick printed circuit board is lifted up and down while holding it between the hands A thin metal sheet can wobble at frequencies up to about 1 kHz when driven at 2 or 3 Hz. The wobble is a transient oscillation rising in pitch during part of each cycle, so it is not a discrete vibration mode or even a series of discrete modes.

An electrical engineer is to give a talk on the physics behind spinning hula hoops during the Highland Science Festival.

Miss Dinnis will also give another talk entitled: The Mathematics of Why I Don't Have a Boyfriend.

The science festival opens on 1 November with a series of two minute lectures on relativity and quantum theory.

They will be delivered inside a potting shed, with only one person able to attend each session.

Suzy, how old is D2? S1 is going to be 12 in December and is just starting to take in interest in the kitchen. He is starting to cut stuff for me. He helps me measure and he always helped mix. S2 also likes to help in the kitchen but he is only going to be 8 in November.

Um... the wobble board was moved at around 2 to 3 Hz, so walking, running etc must work at around the same frequency???? Snort.

d2 was 12 in June. Both girls also wanted to help in the kitchen at S2s age. I compromised by buying a muffin mix or similar that only needed to be poured and mixed - kept the mess and hazards down!

S2 has an apron that his aunt gave him. He will stand on a stool and drop everything in the pot for me when I make chicken soup. I put in the chicken and water, then I cut the veggies, and he puts them in. He then brags about the chicken soup HE made.

Love it Tami! That's actually the tactic we use to encourage the girls to try new foods!

Ooooh planes overhead already! I'll have to watch the time to make sure I'm outside just before 10.

Suzy, it doesn't matter what I do, S2 will try almost anything. S1 will try nothing. He dislikes most fruits and vegetables and if he does try one of them he tends to throw up. I know it is all in his head, but I am tired of cooking for him and having him say "yuck"

My youngest brother had severe bronchial asthma as a child - nearly died a half dozen times. He wouldn't eat anything but vegemite on toast. Would throw up anything else. His doc said to let him go, give him vitamins and when his body was ready it would cope with other foods. He eats everything these days! (nearly 40yo now!)

He CAN eat other foods. He just chooses not to. He thinks they are yucky and won't let himself like them. I have gotten him to try a few things and he likes them. He just won't try new stuff very often.
