We won't be having beetroot for dinner, though. But it's time to eat, so I'm off. Hope to see you later!

Heidi, yes, where do you find your exotic game? We eat venison regularly, instead of beef. Venison spaghetti, meatloaf, burgers, and just hamburger steak, had that other night with grilled onions and mushroom gravy, yummy. I have not had buffaloo, would if I could find it. someone in the area bought and raised a few buffalo, in hopes of slaughtering and having the meat, they cannot find anyone to cut and package for them. I wonder why? Would love to have some buffalo, as it also is low fat, low cholesterol.

I have had alligator sausage, Cajun style. Very good. As youngsters, after the war, we ate rabbit, my grandfather raised them in his "victory garden". I have eaten quail and wild turkey, but Heidi has me beat a long ways.

I saw him last Wednesday and asked if he was doing anything for his birthday. He wasn't really sure at that stage so I said they were more than welcome to come over here for dinner. He said they might so I will have to contact him soon so I can work out the loaves and fishes routine for tonight!

Well, this isn't getting that dirt moved! We finished filling the veggie garden yesterday, now going to fill a few holes around the yard with the rest.
Will take a couple of pics of the veg garden this arvo and try to get them on my page asap...along with this mythical video of the Viv meet! Speaking of Viv...

Meant to say, Liz, maybe you have a touch of the gastro thingy that has been doing the rounds. No real bad symptoms, just no real desire to eat.
Hope you start feeling better soon.

OK, here goes. I had Iguana in a little restaurant in Costa Rica. Alligator in a little restaurant in New Jersey. Buffalo at many places including Native American PowWows, Ostrich at the KY State Fair and locally. I've raised rabbits for the meat. Quail were a gift from a breeder. I bought the pheasant mail order. IH has shot a lot of deer for venison. and Brother-In-Law shot the wild Turkey and the Bear. The Bear was illegal. He was out hunting rabbits with some buddies, and BIL climbed up onto a stump to get a better vantage point. He then looked down, and there was a full grown Black Bear asleep in the stump. He shot that bear with his rabbit gun. The meat got distributed among friends and family members. It was quite good. It tasted like sweet beef. If it is meat. I'll try it.
